Doors block zero noise from outside. Our room was beside stairs and people leaving super early sounded like they were in our room.

Some good features, nice pool, quiet neighbourhood easy walk to main street.

Friendly staff and a clean basic hotel. Probably much the same as others on the island. Choose a deluxe room to get the view and also potentially quieter and on the 4th floor. Nice breakfast made to order.

We stayed for 4 nights. The room was basic and the bathroom very small. However there was a problem with the a/c which meant we got moved to a much bigger rear room with a balcony and excellent view over the bay. I know this room was twice the price but well worth it if you can afford it. The staff especially Rafaela (hoped I spelled that right) was so lovely and helpful. Location wise, it is far enough away from the centre of town to be nice and peaceful, and we didn’t mind the 5/10 minute walk in. The pool was a welcome relief as well

    Nothing, everything was perfect!

The fact that the hotel is very close to the Charles Darwin research station, the main street, only 10-minute walk to reach the best restaurants, bars and galleries, has been a very important point for us when deciding on this hotel. In addition, the host Carlos has always been very friendly (we received a room upgrade upon arrival), the rooms are very bright, a beautiful view, with windows from ceiling to floor, the entire wall, with a huge balcony to see a forest and then the sea, a luxury! And not to mention the huge terrace on the top floor 360 degree amazon views. The room was absolutely clean, fresh towels every day, hot water in large volume, the pool deliciously refreshing after excursion days. In the common area we always found hot water, cold water, a variety of teas and coffee, board games, interesting books, mosquito repellent, towels for the pool and beach! Although breakfast may seem simple, we always had toasted bread, ham, cheese, jam, margarine, eggs to taste, cereals, yogurt, as much coffee and tea as we wanted, and a fresh juice made of real fruits! We are very happy to have found this hotel, our next visit we will surely go there again

Great pool and areas to chill. Our bed was 2 pushed together so it was huge and very comfy. En suite is small but nice and clean! Helpful staff when we checked in :) location is about 5 mins from one side of the main strip, which was perfect

A lovely stay away from the downtown noise
    • Leisure trip
    • Solo traveller
    • Standard Double Room
    • Stayed 4 nights

The only drawbacks were the distance from the downtown area (which is only a $1.50 taxi ride if you do not fancy a walk in the heat) and the bathroom, which could use an aesthetic upgrade. As a solo traveller, I was also uncomfortable with the idea of leaving my room and safe key at the front desk every time I left the hotel (required). However, I felt very safe during my stay after that initial discomfort. Overall, I enjoyed my stay here!

While La Casa de Judy is considered far from downtown Puerto Ayora (about a 15-min walk), it's a lovely place sheltered from the noise and bustle of the bars and restaurants. Excellent for travellers who've booked day tours, which typically start very early in the morning—the nighttime quiet is important! My stay started off with meeting Raphael at the front desk, who was helpful and so sweet. I cannot speak Spanish at all, so I appreciated her friendliness and patience in communicating with me. I looked forward to the breakfast each day (freshly cooked egg, buns, butter and guava jam, some ham and cheese, yoghurt, fresh fruit, tea), and was grateful for the option of an earlier breakfast before I departed each day for my diving tours. The beds were comfortable, the decor tasteful, and the AC was a godsend. In the lobby, there is ample seating for lounging around or writing/working on the computer. WiFi was speedy (only available in the lobby), but it did go out for a few hours one day, which is a rare occurrence I believe. There is a water cooler and tea station available 24/7, with a nice selection of teas, plus hot chocolate. Most helpful was the fridge, where you're welcome to store your own drinks and food in (recommend labelling it just in case).

This isn't the hotels fault but other guests leaving early in the mornings, particularly with kids, showed no regard for other sleeping guests, yelling at each other across the property. The WiFi is weak but as it is most places in Santa Cruz, buy a local SIM card but even then you'll find in this area of the island the signal is weak, but it is stronger closer to the main pier and 'downtown'

I had a lovely stay at La Casa de Judy for four nights. The staff were friendly and helpful and it's a family run affair. The room was spacious and clean and the shower hot with good pressure. I enjoyed the view of the sea from my balcony.

Our guide arranged for us to have a late check out with the manager due to a morning tour. This was not communicated to all the staff which caused a hurried and stressful misunderstanding for check out. Maybe the staff/Mgr could implement a communication log book so that all staff can be updated on things when staff turns over for the day/shift.

The beds were comfortable and the room was clean. There was plenty of space in the room for our whole family, and we were grateful to return home for a relaxing swim and our air conditioned room after a long day of adventures. The staff was very friendly, and location is close enough to everything to walk, but far enough from the main road to be quiet and peaceful at night.

Tiny cups...I like a big mug of coffee or tea, so I took to making it in a glass instead! 😅

The room was vast and the bed was very comfortable. From the balcony you could just about see the sea. You could hear it at night though and at dusk and dawn, the birds sang in the garden below. There was hot and cold water available for drinks 24/7. A plunge pool ( which I didn't use) and chill out area. It was about a 15 minute walk to the port but it was nice to be away from the night time noise of the hustle and bustle. The staff were friendly and gave helpful advice for activities.

Unfortunately the pool was out of order at the time as it was having repairs, but that didn’t bother us much as we were at the beach a lot!

Great location, groovy building, good breakfast, and exceptionally friendly and helpful staff. Very accommodating to our needs if we needed early breakfast or looking after our luggage. Wifi was good in the rooms, too.

We stayed here for a single night before moving on to tour the islands and we were not impressed. There were big dead crickets in our room and it smelled of freshly applied bug killing spray - the bathroom was teeny tiny for a room that slept 4. There were four beds, but oddly only two lamps. The linens were worn and rough.

We liked the location - close to the main strip and on the same block as a local playground

Breakfast was same every day. Either fried eggs or scrambled no meat. Had a bunch of insects in the room exactly a day before our departure. They were everywhere inside the room. Owner explained it was because season changed. Location to Charles Darwin main street was at walking distance which was great. Close to restaurants and stores

Staff was very friendly and helpful
