How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

Great value and well located in Isabela. It has everything you need and a very helpful person at the front desk. Right behind the flamingos in the lagoon. Very clean!

Shower was a bit touch and go. If you want hot water wait 10 minutes and have it at the lowest pressure😅
Perfect location, clean dorms & beds made everyday, kitchen, single beds so no bunks!

The wifi does not work at all in the bedrooms, and there is no aircon and very little ventilation so does get quite stuffy at night
Great Location - 15 minutes from the port and right in the center of town. Room was clean and has a really nice rooftop with chairs where the wifi works good.

Wifi patchy but same for all the islands so not an issue
Good location on the island, could check in early which was great. Kitchen is basic but cooked with it fine. Room was quiet and shower was decent.

El Rincón de George is in a very convenient location, a block up from the central square of Puerto Villamil. It has a well-equipped shared kitchen for guest use and a rooftop terrace. Grocery stores and tour agencies are all just a few minutes walk away. It's close to a lagoon with pink flamingos too. It's a 15-minute walk (or quick taxi ride) to free snorkeling at Concha de Perla.

The water was not really warm, but since the weather was, it was not an issue at all
The staff! Always helping with everything, super fast in answering or solving whatever was needed. Further I liked the location, very near to the beach and how clean the room (or the whole place, including the kitchen and supernice rooftop terrace)

Not a bad thing: little wear & tear as its a tropical island but it didnt bother me. Ocean life does that to things. Would be great if hot water buttons worked in free water dispenser in kitchen, but they work on first floor. Wifi a bit spotty if you want to work but isabela least developed of main 3 islands
Likes: great price, staff is so helpful. Great roof top where you can see the ocean & have coffee in morning. Has a Kitchen. Free water refill. Hot water in showers.

with all the good things, the place however need better maintenance on the room facilities. in our room, the towel bar was broken, soap disposer didn't work, when we mentioned to the staff, he just removed the items, but no replacement, for the 3 night s we stayed. also one of the power plug is hanging there, not securely installed.
i like that they provice daily room cleaning , a kitchen and cloth drying area. the staff are also very helpful and friendly. the place is only minutes walk to beach, to a clinic, and many restaurants, tour agents, bike rentals, minimarkets. 20 minutes walk to the ferry dock, kayak rental/tour .

The kitchen was only usable after 7.30am but if you had an early tour you couldn't make coffee or anything. That is the only thing I could fault it on.
The most helpful staff I have met in a long time. I was able to check in early, room was cleaned everyday if you wanted. It was perfect location and nice rooftop terrace. It was a sociable hostel too!

More a suggestion to perhaps have a few bicyles on site as well as snorkeling gear at discounted price as everything is a bit expensive in town.
Very friendly, helpfull and accommodating reception. Several routes for better internet connection in the building, keeping all the rooms and hallways and kitchen cleaned all the time, easy walk to beach and great having roof top area with some waterviews for days and nights when it rains and it rained a lot, rain season after all. Very happy with it all. Supermarkets and restaurants very close.

We loved our stay at El Rincón de George - clean, chill, and super well-looked after. The location was perfect - close to beach and shops. The host was genuinely lovely and helpful. Bonus points for him. Would 100% recommend it to other travellers. There is a shared kitchen with 2 big fridges / freezer, and stovetop with plenty of utensils and plates etc. We also had a mini fridge in our room which was much appreciated. The wifi on the rooftop terrace was super fast (star link).
