Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

Dominican RepublicA lot of mosquitoes within my room. It seems the pest control was not performed recently and room has nof been in use quite often. Also, the service could be improved. Buffet personnel often have a bad demeanor.
The food was average.

SerbiaAfter 20h of trip we came and got a horrible, smelly room in building 3. The receptionist immediatly told us to pay 135$ in cash and we will get a better room in a new building. We decided to see that 'old' room. The smell was horrible, full of mosquitos, so we had to pay him even though I believe he did that on purpose just to take money for himself as our room we payed there by credit card. I can't believe that they rent rooms in that smelly building, all other buildings are new and the hotel wasn't full.
Entertaiment, activities...

United StatesOur ac was leaking but they eventually fixed it. I felt like they could have more bartenders but maybe it was busier than expected. There could've been a little more variety at the buffets. And, they really should have fewer vendors roaming on the beach. It can be annoying when you are trying to relax but every 10 minutes someone is asking you to buy something.
Staff was super friendly, activities were fun, beach was beautiful and shows were good Loved the peacocks and ducks roaming around. Pools were all clean and never too crowded. We weren't traveling with children so we appreciated the fact that there must've been a lot for kids to do because we barely noticed them though we saw plenty at meal times.

United StatesTips: 1. Towels: Bring your own! We either didn't get any, had to wait to get them later in the day, or only got 2 when we had 4 occupants. We called multiple times and ended up having to go to the front desk to demand them, which we got about an hour later. So, bring your own towels for emergency situations when you can't wait to shower. Pool and beach towels can sometimes run out as well. 2. Toiletries: Bring your own, for your entire stay. We only got conditioner, shower gel, and hand soap throughout our stay. 3. Tours: I read other reviews that told us to buy tickets from the folks roaming the beach (not from hotel staff), which we did and were cheaper. Tours, especially long ones, can extend beyond the hours expected and there's a lot of waiting, so bring water and snacks! Here are the tours we went on: -Dolphins: excellent but expensive -Santo Domingo: excellent but loooooooooong -Isla Saona: beautitul island but not worth the travel time; we only spent 1.5 hrs on island having lunch and swimming -Snorkeling/glass bottom boat: EXCELLENT! 4. Laundry: Bring what you'll need for your entire stay. It costs $5/item of clothing and when I asked in advance, the hotel never got back to me. We went off-resort to pay for laundry and basically washed clothes in our sink, which wasn't the best. We speak Spanish; I wouldn't recommend going off-resort if you don't. 5. Be patient with everyone. Outside of the resort, It'll feel like you're getting hustled at every turn but the people are generally really nice. My husband had to go off-resort one day (to buy laundry detergent; see #4) and said it was a rough afternoon finding a taxi, finding the right store, etc.
Vista Sol was a great place and experience for our family of 4 (2 parents, kids 10 and 5 yo). The beach was AMAZING and the pool with kiddy section was great as well. Access to food, snacks, drinks (alcohol and not) throughout the day was excellent. We stayed 15 days and in most cases, the staff were nice and helpful. The buffet was also AMAZING--we're Mexican, so appreciated the cuisine. We took advantage of the restaurants (included, but with reservations) and they were a relaxing and a welcome change of pace. Overall, highly recommend! Medical Center: My 5 yo son ended up getting an ear infection and a bad rash from the heat and saltwater, but the doctor at the medical center was EXCELLENT. It cost $175 but we didn't want to deal with the time and hassle of going off-resort to find a doctor/pharmacy. Kids Club: It was relatively enjoyable aside from the heat and humidity. It's a decent place for kids to burn off some energy and you can hang out close by to check in on them. I stayed w/ my kiddo but most simply dropped off. Convenience Store: We also liked the on-resort store. Things were a bit overpriced, as you should expect, but not outrageous either (snorkel gear for $20; shampoo for $12). My 5 yo can be a picky eater, so we appreciated being able to buy Doritos, Pringles, etc.
