Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

CanadaThe fact I had to leave to go home!
This truly is paradise—I had an incredible stay and wished I never had to leave! I ended up extending my visit twice because I simply couldn’t get enough. The staff went above and beyond to make me feel completely welcome and at home. Ele and Jero, the managers, showed genuine care and attention to every detail, constantly finding ways to elevate the guest experience. Thanks to them, I enjoyed unforgettable surfing lessons with Wave Soul Retreats—highly, highly recommend their fantastic instructors! Natalie and Roshni at reception were always cheerful and ready to help with any questions about the area. And the massage with Mireya? Absolutely divine. My room was spacious, beautifully decorated, and impeccably clean, with hot water and great shower pressure. The cleaning team and the groundskeeper (who keeps the gardens immaculate) were friendly, always smiling, and attentive. The tropical gardens create a serene oasis, complemented by two sparkling pools perfect for cooling off in the afternoon. I spent countless hours relaxing on the hammock or poolside chairs, soaking up the peaceful vibe. The beach is just a short, easy 7-minute walk away—right where the surfing action is—offering breathtaking sunsets every evening. Getting to Cabarete is a breeze via a quick mototaxi or guagua ride. Breakfast was delicious, fresh, and plentiful, with coffee, tea, water, and bananas available all day. The kitchen was spotless and well-equipped for guests who want to cook. Nearby, Park Food Mall offers great dining options—I loved the burger joint, the poke bowls, and those mega cookies! I’m already planning my next trip back to this slice of paradise and would wholeheartedly recommend it to anyone visiting the area. Exceptional value for money and an unforgettable experience!

CanadaSince it’s located in the forest, don’t forget to bring enough mosquito repellent
Lovely place! Quiet, peaceful, and relaxing. The staff and other guests were incredibly friendly, making the atmosphere even more welcoming. Our room was clean, spacious, and comfortable. I only wish we had stayed for more than one night to fully enjoy everything this wonderful spot has to offer. I highly recommend it and would happily return anytime!

United StatesThe staff was very helpful and friendly. The grounds were beautiful and I really appreciated the availability of drinking water, coffee, and breakfast. The location is a very short walk to the beach, and also just a short walk to the main street to catch the bus.

SlovakiaA quiet cosy guest house in a small village next to Cabarete, with a large place for relaxation and a very welcoming staff. The house is located within a walking distance of the beach where you can enjoy surfing or get a taxi to Cabarete. We booked a budget room, which unfortunately had and technical issue, but the owner approached it very professionally and offered us a room upgrade to make us as comfortable as possible. Generally, the communication was very nice and it was very easy to navigate around with all the recommendations that the staff gave/prepared as a document.

United StatesNo complaints here. Really hope to come back and try some surfing next time. There is free breakfast in the morning, it's very basic (eggs and fruit), but it's nice fresh fruit. A good way to start the day.
Absolute gem of a location. The beach is a short walk down the road, there's a great trail with lots of secluded spots. The food park across the street is really cool too and its a super quick ride to the main area of Caberete. We loved being in the quiet area, but being able to get down to the action very easily. The hotel itself was beautiful and the staff were really nice.

CanadaBeds could use better mattresses but the higher end room are better than the basic room. Front desk staff didn’t seem to know answers to basic questions, perhaps they were new. The manager was very helpful.
Beautiful gardens, refreshing pool, spacious kitchen for cooking, great location with walking distance to the beach and dining options, the manager/over was very helpful with the questions and requests that we had.

CuraçaoPower outages were a daily occurrence during our stay. The WIFI was fickle most of the time. But the common area does has WIFI connected even with power outages because it uses a battery. During outages most of the guests gather here and the WIFI is stronger there. The bathroom was a bit outdated and in need of changes.
The staff was very friendly and Helpful. We enjoyed the vibe in the hotel, which was very relaxing. The room was spacious and had a private bathroom, a fridge ,various beds , an air-conditioner and even a floor fan. The hotel is about a 10 minute walk to "El Encuentro" beach. So if one of your reasons for being in Cabarete is wave surfing , this is a good option to stay. It is also a few minutes away from "El ParQ" this is a food truck park with various options to eat. The hotel also offers a massage which was very pleasant a decently priced.

FranceThe WiFi didn’t work in the room which is a shame.
Nice place, not in the town of cabarete but in a sort of hippie beach town with few shops and restaurants. The rooms were very comfortable, and amenities are good. Staff is nice. I enjoyed my time there.

ItalySome rooms would need a redesign, especially the ones on the ground floor near the street.
The location was lovely, and I'd describe the rooms as true to the website's pictures. We weren't satisfied with our initial room and asked for a different one. The second room was significantly better, featuring a brand-new air conditioning unit. It's conveniently located near Encuentro Beach, exuding those delightful tropical Caribbean vibes.

VietnamNothing to complain about.
This place is a friendly Oasis where you can rest and let your guard down. After a horrible night in grimy Sosua, I was so happy to arrive here. As a bonus there's several friendly cats on the grounds to hang out with. One came to my door at night and I let him in. He was super sweet slept next to me all night.

NorwayHere I had the best stay in Dominican Republic! This place is peaceful, beautiful and you feel like home. I got a lot of help from stuff any time. This place is located close to the surfing paradise, not so close to Cabarete (you need to take guagua to the city). Facilities are clean and garden is magical. I relaxed and charged my batteries by the pool. It was quiet and I can highly recommend to stay here during your holidays. You will not regret it!

ItalyBe aware that you need a car to move around: the place is located 20 Min walking to the closest beach and max 10 Min by car to Cabarete beach where there are shops, bars and restaurants.
Beautiful and peaceful place surrounded by a tropical garden and with 2 cute swimming pools. The room was clean and looked like the pictures. Breakfast was good and you can make yourself what you like sitting by the pool. There is also a kitchen that guests can use. It is located approximately 20 Min walking to play encuentro, the famous surf beach and the guys from the B&B have a surf school offering classes and renting the material. The best is to combine the stay with surfing!
