Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United StatesIn order to get to the beach, you do have to take a 24 hour golf cart. There’s one big pool and one that wraps around the resort. When we got there the day of our reservation to try and make a dinner reservation, everything was booked the day that we needed it. And they only offered one selection. There was a line at 9 AM to start reservations for the next day, which I think is not very efficient. Meanwhile one of the restaurants was not busy whatsoever. Maybe had like a few people sitting there.
The property is overall very beautiful. Rooms are spacious and very much up-to-date. Our room came with the balcony and tub. The staff were overall really nice. Very secure hotel with security personnel at the very front gate.

Dominican RepublicThe food is not impressive; the Origen Buffet has a low variety. On the last day, the maid practically kicked us out of the room — she waited at the door until we finished, even though we were still within the allowed check-out time.

United StatesProperty was very clean, although a little worn in places. Maybe not obvious but lots of cracked plaster, grout on tiles, door wouldn’t close to our room, bird poop on our balcony, I don’t think there’s a single straight outlet box in the entire facility, they all seem to be crooked. It just doesn’t seem that the construction ethic down there pays much attention to detail. We got massages which were good but not great and they were horribly overpriced, almost $200 for 50 minutes. The one thing that I really just did not like was that you’re getting hustled from almost a minute you’re there. You get towels and the towel guy he wants you to buy excursions so he gets a commission. We went to the beach, and it was just loaded with hustlers. Guys walking around with parrots, iguanas that they would let you take a picture of and then they would charge you 40 bucks. Guys selling garbage trinkets.I don’t know why they let that go on. It really distracts from the classy experience otherwise. also, as we were researching this, it said that transportation to and from the airport was included. We got to the airport and there was no sign of anybody from our resort so we had to pay 40 bucks to get driven there and the day we left we found out that shuttle service was not included. It was $35 for two, 40 for a family of four, and just for your informati Property was very clean, although a little worn in places. Maybe not obvious but lots of cracked plaster, grout on tiles, door wouldn’t close to our room, bird poop on our balcony. on when I priced Uber it was only $20. Outside of the resort, at least this part of the Dominican Republic is not all that. It didn’t seem dangerous. It was just kind of shabby
Overall, very impressed. My first all inclusive and basically second Caribbean island trip out of over 40 overseas trips in my lifetime. Food was plentiful, and I thought overall it was pretty good. It wasn’t magnificent, there were outstanding dishes and there were OK dishes and everything in between. That was at Origen, the daily buffet. Wait service was pretty good. Everything was included at most of the restaurants, including top shelf liquors, no restrictions. I have not seen that on any other cruise or all inclusive. There were maybe a half dozen other restaurants. Be aware that it was difficult to get reservations with without a concierge’s package, which is another 700 bucks. We ate at the steakhouse, which was surprisingly tasty, prime cuts do cost additional. But New York steak was included, and although it was not magnificent, it was very tasty and done properly. The Asian place was a standard hibachi, just like any chain, you’ve ever been to and was perfectly fine and a lot of fun for the family. The big surprise was Machu, which was a Peruvian restaurant which apparently features some type of South American Japanese fusion. I have had ceviche before and did not like it. However, the stuff here it was terrific across the board, tasty and well done. Tons of food were brought out, all part of the deal with plentiful liquor and desserts. We went with our children who got the concierge option and we just tagged along. You may not be able to do that easily, but it worked with us. we were very liberal with tips, we recommend bringing about 100 bucks in one dollar bills and 100 in fives. Pool was immaculate. Every night there was some sort of entertainment and it was first rate. One night was Dominican Republic Day and they had an enormous outdoor buffet featuring local foods, which was terrific.. there are all sorts of fun things to keep you occupied, be aware that summer only available to the concierge service or the circle option.

United StatesThe flooring of the hotel is marble-like, very dangerous and slippery, especially for elders and kids. I counted 7 slip and falls due to poor safety practices in rainy days, 2 of them were mine, i reproted to my concierge Ricardo of these, honestly nothing they cant do at any moment, keeping people drying out while raining and after that will never be a solution.. it would not cost a significant amount of money to put anti slippery surfaces on top of what they have , will not destroy the aesthetics of hotel Rubber outsoles does not work for s... in these surfaces all over the hotel. The food was not bad, but not diverse, you cant eat the same stuff for 5 consecutive days, we are paying for a 5 start hotel not a 3 star. overall a 3.5/5 stay. the worst part is that beach is not even close to location as shown in your pictures, its a mile or more away
installations are clean, modern, bars are well stocked with decent options, staff excellent, responsive and attentive to every need.

United StatesShower head was leaking from screw on top and the water was not coming completely out of every water hole, there was a tile in the shower on the top that was coming loose from the wall. Cleaning crew was not that good did not sweep and mop all the floors in the room, and did not wipe of all surfaces. Barely changed the pillow cases and bed spreads for our stay, house keeping did not restock the personal supply after they were used up, but the water, drinks and snacks were stock everyday enough for the entire family. Most of the food is lukewarm or room temperature, the side dishes at the restaurants were lukewarm as well. We also had to use a translator a lot doing our stay.
Most of all the staff is wonderful very pleasant and helpful, little English spoken. The Paradesus Grand Cana Resort is so beautiful you're not going to want to leave. Me and my family was dreading leaving the resort, the weather could not have been any better. The room/apartments are really nice, the beds are comfortable, the hot tub is a great extra addition to each room, the pool wraps around the entire property so you can use the pools right in front of your room or go to the big pools or jacuzzi /hot tubs on the property, my 14 year old son enjoyed the pool so much he almost didn't make it to the waterpark. The decor is absolutely beautiful throughout the property. The beach was great, no matter what part of the resort you are in you will enjoy it, they make sure staff accommodating you in every part of the resort. There's something to do everyday the different themed shows were very entertaining. Me and my husband won $20 at the casino. The other adjacent property were just as beautiful. We visited Tori Restaurant Tuesday it was along the lines of Japanese food it was good. Ka'rnica Restaurant Wednesday & Thursday was Steakhouse it also was delicious. Friday Teppanyaki Restaurant was Hibachi and it was very delicious as well. Saturday Machu Restaurant. Be sure to have a translator on your phone for important info like allergies and important conversations. If you don't make reservations at the restaurants the buffet has many options to choose from everyday. So many drinks liquor and wine to choose from that you're not going to know what to choose, drinks all day every day there's also virgin drinks for none drinkers. We will definitely visit again. Our Concierre, Mr. Ricky was so awesome. He attended to us the whole time that we were there.
