Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United StatesOur neighbors in the villa and the food.
Overall the property was awesome. Beautifully kept gardens and pathways. People that work there are so nice. Pool awesome! Room was clean and comfortable however when you check in you better find out what your neighbors are like. We had young people next to us that stayed up till all hours partying and talking very loudly. That made the overall experience a little lower for me as well as the food being mediocre at best.

United KingdomAlthough not the hotel’s fault, the beach is full of seaweed. They clear it several times during the day but It seems to be very common in that area. It made the beach experience not so great for us, but some people may be ok with that. Also the swimming pool area is gorgeous and makes up for it! The USD150 room credit is misleading - you get discount cupoms from USD10 to USD40 to redeem against certain services and products - i.e USD40 discount to upgrade to The Level rooms. Not worth it. The area the hotel needs a lot of improvement is F&B service and overall staff behaviour. It’s clear they favour guests staying in The Level rooms, and are very tip oriented. Dinner service was hit and miss, and food, sometimes, below expectation - dinner at Barefoot was a disappointment; mainly american style food, served lukewarm. At our last dinner at Mar de Sal, we waited 40min for our entrees, and we had a very unpleasant experience with one of the waiters, who was innapropriate and rude to one of my friends - this has been raised with the hotel directly. The Dominican Rep night at Mosaico restaurant was a disaster! Service was basically inexistent, we had to repeatedly remind them about our drinks orders and they got it wrong every time. Towards the end of the night, a couple of restaurant and bar staff seemed to be under the influence of alcohol. In general, we noticed some male staff feel too comfortable around female guests and would approach us (party of 4 women) with sexist remarks disguised as light jokes. If we cut them off they would ignore our requests. It’s a shame, but this alone would stop us from returning to this resort.
Stunning hotel, with gorgeous landscape gardens. They offer plenty of restaurant options and a variety of food, snacks and drinks through the day. Booking restaurant was super easy. Bear in mind, it can only be done from 2nd day onwards. The rooms were airy and beds very comfortable. The housekeeper Fabiola did a great job keeping our room tidy every day. Despite what some comments mention, ee had hot water every day, and the shower pressure was really good! The hotel offers a range of activites we can take part; we mostly did yoga, pilates and bike tour. All instructors were very knowledgeable and friendly. We took part on a moonwalk tour, where we had the option to do soundbath; however it was set up in the lobby so not very relaxing. The SPA is gorgeous but overpriced. The staff at Concierge + reception desk and the coffee bar near reception were extremely helpful and friendly.

United StatesThe property was beautiful and right on the beach. The Level is nice because then your rooms are right by the beach and the other restaurants/spa are either a short 10ish minute walk or you can wait for a golf cart, sometimes they'll stop and pick you up on the walk. We did the Level Stay Well because the website noted that Daily spa treatments were included, I couldn't find anything specifying any details regarding that inclusion. Upon arrival we were informed that it was 30 minutes back/shoulder or facial massage but they could be saved and stacked for a 50/80 minute massage. We were told they could not be upgraded to other treatments. We probably would have spent the same at the spa for the treatments we wanted as we did the Stay Well upgrade. Just something to be aware of when booking! The staff was lovely but we were misled into a time share presentation *we left* staff was cornering us after breakfast & offering us a massage or dinner on the beach if we went on a 15-20 minute tour of the other resort as a promotion. We didn't commit at first so then they kind of harassed us/stalked us to get us to go to this thing only to get there and find out it's a 45 minute presentation. We told them no that's not what we were told and went back to the resort. We really enjoyed the Mar De Sal restaurant & the buffets. The Level Lounge snack bar was really nice too! The beds were not the comfortable but there was a ton of beach and pool seating options.

Germanysome of the personnel were clearly not motivated to work, the cleaning in our room forgot or just didn't replace more and more towels, tissues,... the safe in the room did not work (which i reported and nothing was done about it) resulting in 50€ being stolen from my partner's wallet, there was supposed to be one person helping you make reservations (via whatsapp) which was completely useless because he never did successfully. The 150$ voucher is NOT applicable to one thing, but split up over different subjects so i cancelled my massage, that i wanted to use that 150$ voucher on, as soon as i found out (they are WAAAAY too expensive anyway). There is a "premium" sort of rooms you can book, called LEVEL, where you get access to a different bar/restaurant/seats/... but it is set up in such a way that you feel like a second class client if you don't have that. You get seated further away from the nice views, less nice parts of the beach etc. They really rub it in that you're just not as important which is not nice as it's not as you're not paying anything either. The a la carte restaurants are not that good (below what you would expect for this price setting)
the breakfast and lunch were quite good with sufficient choice (buffet style), some of the personnel were really nice and helpful and hotel rooms were clean and spacious. the all in bars provided easy access to as much cocktails as you wished (not that may in our case anyway). the whole hotel property looks very beautiful and nicely maintained.

SpainAdvertised as an adults only wellness hotel with spa, imagined it to be more quiet with out animation. Plus our room faced the kids & family section next door with the train passing frequently. Also never had any sun on our terrace at any time of day & inside the room was damp so could unfortunately not dry our swimwear.
Beautifully kept expansive of a resort. Very friendly staff & good quality of food at each meal considering it was all inclusive & catering for so many people, as the resort was huge.

United StatesThe check in. It took super long and we were not given the requested two beds even though we arrived earlier and gave it to someone who arrived late. We were promised to wait and we would get two twin beds but it never happened . We were very disappointed and the manager were not too acomodating at all. We made this reservation with plenty time and I had to share ved with friend, because she did not even try to relocate us on a different day.

MalaysiaWe bought the Level experience but the room service was disappointing, the shuttle between the Level zone (beach) and the facilities next to the front desk sometimes was extremely delayed.
The beach is stunning, the juice bar and the all inclusive "a la carte" restaurants, the vietnamese specially is really good. We experienced some issues with service the first two days but Ana and Jenfry reacted immediately and improved a lot.

SpainThe AC in our room didn't go lower than 27C and it felt a bit hot. But we never called the reception to get it fixed so more of our fault. I think the alcohol was not the best quality (at the pool & beach club) so for better one you have to pay extra. What I didn't like the most: everyone (including people at the hotel) trying to sell you something at a very high price (excursions, additional hotel services), which was very pushy and they are practically chasing you.
The hotel was great. I loved the set up and design. The room was very comfortable and we had an amazing pool & sea view. The variety of food was great and I loved the specialty restaurants. The stuff is very polite and friendly. A lot of cool activities you can choose & great gym equipped with everything you might need.

Dominican RepublicThe Muse Social club, and the social activities by night in general. They could have been more diverse and elaborate.
The staff is very professional and courteous. Mr José Luis Monte de Oca and his team at the front desk reception did a great job welcoming me and paying attention to every detail of my stay! I appreciate the particular attention to guests while checking in, especially the drink offered while finalizing the registration. In my case I desired a hot black tea, and it was served to me at the reception desk before I had time to blink, with honey and lime! I also liked the variety of the available wellness activities: Vinyasa yoga, Hatha Yoga, pilates, tabata, aqua aerobics, etc. The trainers are very skillful and engaging. I will definitely stay there again!
