United KingdomWe booked at Punta Cana Spa and Resort but on arrival after a long 9 hour flight and queue any the airport there was a big queue at the reception and we waited almost 2 hours to be seen because there was not enough staff to cope with the number of people to be checked in. Then after waiting for this time in the heat and humidity we were then told that we were booked into the Bavaro suite which was annoying because there was no mention of this in our booking. We then had to wait for transportation to take us to the Bavaro suite reception. Upon arrival at the Bavaro reception there was another big queue for checking in. After checking in at around 8pm we went straight to dinner as we would have missed the food as the restaurant would have closed if we went to our rooms. The rooms were so far away and we didn’t have transportation to the main lobby area. We asked many drivers to take us there but they refused as they were going somewhere else. It’s so difficult to get somewhere specific that you want to go because of this and the train is mostly full and you would have to wait for the next one. The hotel should provide more buggys for transport of guests to improve this. The lack of information was another issue. Many things like evening wear for men to the restaurant were not told to us like wearing a shirt for evening meal. Other than these issues we were generally pleased with the hotel facilities and friendliness of the staff and the entertainment.
