Our room was close to the Blue Dorado, which hosted weddings every night. The music was so loud it vibrated inside our room. It stopped at nine on weeknights and ten on weekends, but it was very unpleasant in the room before that time. If you want a quiet stay, ensure it is away from the wedding dance venues. The room had some issues—the phone didn't work, and it was missing a remote control and a hairdryer. The check-in took far too long, and when we decided to upgrade to preferred, that added more complexity to the check-in process, not less. Getting a "tour" (ahem, a sales pitch) was exhausting when all we wanted was to get to the room. The butler service was helpful, but quite a few mistakes were made about reservations. The only staff who were not great were those who stood outside the main area during breakfast and tried to sell spa services. It felt invasive.

We loved the location and layout of the pools, the access to the beach, and the variety of restaurants and bars. The rooms were thoughtfully designed with places to lay out luggage and a great use of space. The rooms with outdoor beds surrounding the pools looked particularly enticing. The spa was gorgeous, and the services there were top-notch. The staff were universally friendly and accommodating. The preferred beach and pool were quieter and much more relaxed than the main pool and beach, where music was constantly playing loudly. If you do not want a "party" atmosphere, I'd recommend upgrading to preferred.

In my opinion this is not a 5 star hotel. It is very nice and has a great atmosphere, but for that money you would expect much more. One day we had to change rooms (we wanted an upgrade) and we got it at 4.30pm- we lost almost the whole day with this. The pools are avarege, the drinks are below the avarage, not really a good quality of an alcoholic drinks. If you get a room close to the lobby you won’t be able to sleep till 11pm, the shows are very loud, if you stay there with kids try to get a room closer to the pools/beach.

We loved the beach (there was a lot of seeweed, but they clean it every day) and the water park, the hotel stuff was very nice all the time. We liked some of the restaurants, the good thing is you don’t need a reservation for the restaurants, but there can be a long waiting list,so make sure you go there early and put your name on the list. The swim-up rooms were very nice with kids. The food was very good, there was a huge variety of food. Unfortunatelly we got a stomach thing on our second day and it lasted till the end of our stay, so we couldn’t really enjoy it. Not sure what was the cause-it was our first time in DR, we were at another resort before and there were no problems like that.

cleaning of the Room/Suite was terrible! dirty bed sheets when we arrived, insufficient cleaning troughout our stay, although we complained (buttler was very helpful though). Suite needs refurbishing; beds not comfortable for a 5 star hotel.

The hotel was spectacular, the location was fine, the beach was beautiful. The staff was always willing to help and treat the familiy as espected. The hotel is a dream come true for the famliy. The hotel has activities for all ages, and this works fine with my family.

I loved how it didn't feel like a huge resort, even though it is a big one. It felt cozy and like there weren't a lot of people there (even though there were!). Just the layout is different from other resorts I've seen, and it made a huge difference to feel like we were "alone." The entertainment was awesome - I wish there were karaoke for adults :) The gym was perfect. The location was great too - a short walk along the beach to the casino next door. The restaurants on the property were fine - the Italian one wasn't so great. Hibachi was awesome. The buffet was just yummy. I loved that we could request snacks and beer and water a million times a day for our room. They also brought us cake for my husband's birthday and put a happy birthday sign! It was all very friendly and lovely.

Noisy til 11 pm if you are looking to relax. Filling up the room with water and coffee wasn’t regular had to ask. Still didn’t get. Went to the bar. A bit overpriced. Decent buffet comparing to all inclusive

Fun exciting atmosphere. Entertainment every night BuT if your room is close to shows you won’t sleep til 11 pm. Choice of restaurants is good BuT have to come by 6 or wait an hour to get in. Beach is very nice BUT have to get chairs by 8 am. Probably by 10 am not a single chair left. People leave towels and leave. Workers work very hard but sometimes it’s too many customers. Always clean room/towels. Shower nice pressure removable handle is a plus.

The cleaning was done pretty superficial. In 12 nights we didn’t get our bedsheets changed, which with all the sand, despite showering every time before going to bed, was a little annoying. Also: if you are traveling with small children/babies that require a crib, be sure to bring your own sheet!! The cleaning was made daily at different hours, not only once in the afternoon when we wanted to put the children to sleep, which was a little disturbing due to the fact that the cleaning staff was yelling and slamming everything around, which made it pretty difficult to rest. The staff was apparently very nice but if you understood a little Spanish you could pretty easily understand that they were talking behind your back… I’ll just leave it like that. Also! Be sure to have money with you everywhere you go, the staff is really eager for tips and won’t treat you the same without any. At the main restaurant the variety of food for children was poor and really unhealthy! We expected much more local fruits and vegetables than we actually got served.

The property has a very nice lobby, a big theater where they have every night a different performance, a pretty good restaurant with many choices, bars in the pools, at the beach… big pools, enough sunbeds at the beach, different entertaining programs throughout the property and day… all in all our stay was good, but to be honest we wouldn’t go back a second time.

The only suggestion I have, is to keep the hot food warmer. I do like my food hot, and by the time I got to our table, it had cooled down quite a bit.

Due to my flight being canceled on the day of check in we were unable to make it to the resort the first day. We understand that if we were responsible for missing the flight but due to no fault of our own the flight was canceled. I contacted the property to notify them and ask if we could modify the reservation so that we could stay an additional day since we missed the first day they told us we would have to pay and did nothing to work with us. We paid for 5 nights but only got 4 and the resort just cares about money and not the customers or the reason of why the delay. I wasn’t looking for a full refund for the day we missed just to stay one additional day maybe at a discounted rate. But, they were too quick to say no. We Don’t ever plan on going back. It’s a nice place to visit just hope that your travel plans do not get altered by the airlines or Mother Nature and you will be fine.

Check in stuff member was not properly trained, the process was disorganized. They were unclear about the the sum that needs to be charged, trying to overcharge me despite providing the receipt from the Booking.com, rudely calling the room daily demanding my credit card information instead of taking it as soon as you check in. This was disheartened, it made me feel like he did not believe me despite showing proof. That is never happened to me with any other DR resorts.
