Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United StatesIt was quite hard to make dinner reservations because you had to between 9-11 at front desk and everything was booked when we tried.
We had a few issues due to needing 2 rooms close to each other. After trying to get accommodations, we finally got what we needed because Angelica at guest services was very helpful and attentive .

United StatesA lot of it needs upgrading (fresh paint, etc) but nonetheless it was beautiful. The lack of variety in alcohol brands was a major bummer. We understand that house brand alcohol is a big thing at all-inc resorte, but we would have been willing to pay for top shelf alcohol. The food selection was ok, got the job done but wasn’t stellar.
Loved the access to the other resorts, our room was great and our view was even better! For the most part staff was friendly and the overall look and size of the resort was super nice.

Dominican RepublicExtremely Disappointing Stay We arrived at the hotel and had to wait over three hours to check in—an unacceptable delay. To make matters worse, the hotel had no electricity, and shockingly, no backup generator. In this day and age, that’s simply unacceptable. Once we finally got to our rooms (we had booked two), we were informed that none of the air conditioning units in the hotel were working. The rooms felt like saunas—completely uncomfortable and unlivable in the heat. As for the food, I wish I could say it redeemed the experience, but unfortunately, it did not. Lunch and dinner options were extremely limited, and while breakfast was standard, it was nothing to write home about. Overall, this stay was a huge letdown. I would not recommend this hotel to anyone until major improvements are made.

Dominican RepublicThe resort was in renovation. One of the reasons we booked it was due to only in area to have slides in swimming pool and they were not available. We accidentally did not add a child to our 4 room reservations and the resort penalized us for it and charged 20$ extra per night. They were not flexible at all. Said that even their general manager could not make exception. For a hospitality resort they were not hospitable at all. No empathy. On top of it they put us in 3rd floor, knowing we had older seniors with our group. I never said we wouldn't pay for our mistake but to penalize was over the top. I booked thru here and they did not give child price for booking.
The food, the staff, the beds. The staff was very friendly.

United StatesWaited hours to be checked in, the room the gave me on bldg 310 was in a basement, there was no lighting on the stairs and it was a safety issue. Door for the room was wide open, keys did not work, AC did not work, bathroom was disgusting, paint was chipped. We called the reception multiple times and they didn't answer, we had helped by the bell hopper-Freddy, we went back to reception, while they were trying to find us another room they kept our luggage and sent us to the dinner buffet which was almost closing, the staff there pretty much ignores us and when we asked for something we were treated as though we were annoying them, we went back to reception and they gave us a room on the top floor of bldg 210, the room was still not good but better than the last and we were exhausted. We were told to make reservations to the A La Carte restaurants at the guest services office the next day when they open at 9am, I was there at 9 o'clock and the line was long and lots of people were already taken or waiting as if they opened long time ago, another guest told us that they sometimes open early, when we finally got in there was only 2 time slot left and to only one restaurant. There is no WIFI available for guest. The pools were dirty and slimming. There is construction going on in a big part of the resort. Breakfast was as bad as the dinner the night before. After spending our day at Ocean World we went back to the resort to get ready for our reservation, we ate at Trapiche - the reservation was made for 2, even when we were 3 with my 10 yo, who is 5'1, thankfully the restaurant had a table to accommodate us, but mentioned they always do that and that creates problems sometimes if there are no available seating. Food was better there thankfully and the staff more friendly. We went back to our room. We had a flat tire in the parking lot and requested tire services that was never provided. After eating breakfast we checked out and got out immediately!

Dominican RepublicThe reception. Their policy crashes not only with Dominican laws but also booking.coms policy. I reserved 4 rooms for family group and accidentally missed a 10 yr old child. I tried to edit thru app but app refer back to resort. The price for child In booking was 30$ but the resort penalized us and charged over 54$ per night. They would not budge at all on the price. Which is against the law to penalize. And It was an honest mistake. The management even said that not even the general manager can make exception. I never declined to pay, but to penalize us was insane. It was a family trip. And the room was for an older members. So we all chipped in a paid for it. What cash we had we had to actually tip the people who deserved it we were left looking like idiots. On top of it, it felt retaliatory and they put us in the 3rd floor. Knowing full well we had older people with us. After I filed complain the CS called and said that the the extra 20$ was a fee to penalize us. It was insane.
The staff. Everyone that makes the resort run was excellent and extremely friendly. From the waiters to the towel personnel.
