Nice room with AC and comfy bed. It has everything!

Definitely bring earplugs if you are a sensitive sleeper. A bit pricey even in low season. Would recommend the owners to change the faucet of the sink in the bathroom as it splashes everywhere.

Very nice location, walking distance from beach. There is also restaurants and groceries on walking distance. Host and his son are very nice persons and are willing to help in any situation. It is hostel, but clean and quite. My stay was in separate room which share kitchen only with one other room. I booked also some day trip with host and it was nice. My recomandation is to book transfer via Booking too as it is cheaper than locally.

It's a great place. The location is great with many food places around and a grocery store as well and a bank is next door. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The room was just big enough for one person and had an AC that worked very well. Many outlets as well and a mirror. Private bathroom was next door and you got a key for it, all clean. Security was great, too. I would come back!

The WiFi in my room was sometimes quite spotty and the window didn't fully close so it could be quite noisy. If you can't find the location for a pick up or anything, just tell them EcoHostal.

This is a very simple and authentic property. Everything needed is conveniently located, and you really get an awesome island vibe. Highly recommend.

Very good and convenient location ,5min walking to the beach ,a lot of facilities around , amazing service(shout out to Martin ). Also a great place for meeting new Peoples & Friends and having fun together.

Decent accommodation, pretty good given the price range (in relation to Punta Cana prices). Everything was there and worked well. The host was very friendly and helpful.

The room is somehow either a bit two small or poorly arranged as there was not enough space to open my suitcase properly.

My friend and I spent an unforgettable 10 days at this property. The staff went above and beyond to make us feel at home, from the flexible check-in to their constant willingness to help. We loved having the option to cook our own meals and enjoy them on our private balcony or socialize with other travelers on the terrace. The location was perfect, with beaches, grocery stores, and restaurants all just a short walk away. Plus, the staff helped us book some incredible tours at unbeatable prices! I couldn't recommend this place more, and want to give a big shoutout to the amazing staff!

Boris was super super nice, fair, honest and accommodated all my requests! Location is very good Room was spacious. I was traveling solo and I do recommend this hostel! The beach is pretty but dirty, sadly.

My only complaint is the cleanliness and if other people were showering at the same time the water would get cold.

It was okay for max. 2 nights. We could store our luggage in a safe at reception after check-out.

The place is very rustic and for what it is, 50 € per night isn't really justified in my opinion. The supposedly "private" bathroom was outside of the bedroom and we weren't able to lock it from the outside. Located on a loud street so always noisy at night. The communication with the owner was good at first, but at check-out wasn't nice at all anymore. No "goodbye", "safe travels", nothing. Just opened the door for us without a word and left. Quite rude. He also said he would be available on Whatsapp for questions but didn't answer with any helpful information. When we asked which beaches nearby are public, he answered that all of them are and that's simply not true. We figured it out ourselves in the end. Really not a nice hostel with good vibes.

Love this hostel! It’s only a 10min walk to the beach.The availability of a private room and the space to socialise was great. It’s family run and they make you feel super comfortable as a solo female traveler. They are so helpful with booking excursions (which are much cheaper than the prices you get anywhere else.)

No card payment, and the fridge didn't work but possibly just wasn't on I wasn't there long enough to really mind it.

The important thing to note for visitors is that Ecohostal and Arthostal are the same business but on different floors - Ecohostel is shared dorms on the top of the building and Arthostal is much more comfortable single rooms on the first floor. Arthostal is equipped with a good kitchen and has a small lounge. The staff are very friendly when they are around and the rooms are secured with electronic locks and two additional keys into the entrance. I had no concerns about break-ins. I would also like to say that for a hostel charging under £20 a night, it was very clean and I saw the cleaner at work every day. Please note the wifi and phone signal are strong. Taxi drivers can find it slightly difficult to find Plaza Artistico so either show them a map or direct them to the very large resort just opposite the hostel. I wanted to ensure I wrote this review because for personal reasons, I had to cut my intended trip of a week short after a couple of days and take an emergency next day flight back to the UK. Boris, the hostel owner, was extremely kind about accommodating this and cancelled my remaining booking without issue. I have no hesitation about recommending this hostel to anyone looking for a budget stay in Punta Cana. Hostels in this price bracket can be quite variable and I think this is top notch.

The advert is slightly rosy - there is no television, for example. Yes, the hostel is 500m from the beach as the crow flies, but only if you can fly over the building site between the hostel and the beach. In reality, you have to walk down the road and turn right. You should also be aware that there are building works going on opposite the hostel as of 2023 and it is located on a fairly busy road. Due to the heat, the windows need to be open most of the time so make sure you have some earplugs and you will be fine.
