Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

GreeceNothing to do with the hostel itself ... but on a couple of nights people were very loud on the patio in the wee hours and it woke me up.
Great location. Big open kitchen with patio. Sturdy stairs next to the bunk beds (i.e. not ladders). Friendly staff. Good price.

PolandWhen I arrived they had accidentally overbooked the place but at the same time they were very efficient in reorganising beds availability and even though it was late at night everything went well.
Perfect location close to city centre. No need to climb up the hill :) It’s a hostel so have to be prepared for the whole range of guests… only bunk beds available. There’s no 24/7 staff so make sure to contact them before arrival eg. via WhatsApp about access codes and your bed location. If not most probably other guests will explain you everything. Boys / mixed dorms are on street level. Girls use ocean level (lower floor). There are 2 separate entrances so make sure to go to the right one. Place is clean but guests can make it messy easily. Since it’s by the main road it might be noisy till late in the night so light sleepers u better use earplugs…

United StatesThe UK plugs are hard to manage. I had to charge using the one working US plug in the kitchen. Seems like it would be crowded if full.
This is a cheap and basic option. Roseau Hostel & Beach Front Property is a little house with bunk beds. Beds were comfortable enough. No real storage but has a fan. Kitchen has what you need. It's a 15 minute walk to the ferry and supermarket. A small beach outside. I only interacted with the staff when I arrived. They happened to be outside when I arrived. They charged my credit card which was handy.

GermanyNone!
Well located, not too far from the center. Able to get in touch with others, as there is no large hostel culture here. Got cleaned every day, beds were good and a nice little outside area to come together. Nothing outstanding but had anything needed at a decent cost! At the beginning a bit confusing that there was no one officially running the place, just showed up and got all information from other guests, but it works! 👌🏻

Denmark- Not the best beach I have seen. Stone and no sand, but I did not choose the hostel for the beach
- Cheapest option in Roseau - Fully equipped kitchen for making food - Beachfront location for a swim - Free car parking across the street. I am not sure how safe it is. I had no problems - Nice balcony right in front of the beach

United KingdomWhen I arrived, no-one was there to check me in or show me my room. Apparently Charmagne was ill but the owner did not bother to tell me that, or other guests who also arrived. I was not given the code to enter the door and neither were two French people who could not get into their rooms. This was very unprofessional. If it wasn't for other guests, we would not have been able to go in or sleep anywhere. The owner seems very bad at communication. No information was given on any tours etc. There was a bar/restaurant near the property which was apparently owned by the same person but it was never open. The back gate was sometimes locked and you could not get in or out - we did not know who had the key.
The hostel was a 15 minute walk from the ferry and next to a 'beach' which was nice to hear at night. The beds were simple but clean and comfortable Charmagne, who came to clean each day, was very friendly and helpful. There is a kitchen to cook, a TV with Netflix and a washing machine to do washing. Also chairs on a patio outside to relax.

United StatesI think they are understaffed right now, and Charlotte (who manages the rooms) is clearly stressed out (she will tell you so) and wasn't available to do more than the most basic of cleaning while I was there, so things were getting dirty and I ended up doing the sweeping a few times. The upstairs rooms looked quite nice and the view from the balcony is great; the lower floor is less nice, with a view of a concrete wall, and the middle of the three rooms is a bit dungeon-like.
This hostel is a really well located (just a five-minute walk into Roseau center, grocery store nearby) and the owner, Hubert, is very nice and responsive. It is wonderful to be able to sit out on the porch and look at the ocean!

Czech RepublicIt wasn't the cleaniest, and as the reviews mentioned, it get very noise, especially at night, so peeing your best pairs of ear plugs. And perhaps a sleep mask Oh, and if you get the upper bunk bed, midnyour head as there's maybe 30-40cm only between the mattress and the ceiling .
I like the proximity of the ocean and the location a bit out of town, so good for my morning jog. Wifi was kinda alright Also, there are huge lockers available (like you literally fit your whole backpack there if you want to) . kitchen was equipped enough, pots, pans, cutlery, microwave, oven, stove, fridge.
