Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United StatesWithout a car, we had to arrange rides everywhere. This wasn’t really a problem since one of the family members was always available for a VERY reasonable price. The roads are crazy, especially if you’re not used to driving on the left.
The owners were so nice, and the longer we stayed, the more we fell in love with the family. Also, the location was near many of Dominica’s main attractions (waterfalls, gorge, baths, hikes, etc). The meals were fantastic. We loved trying local dishes.

United KingdomThe room was very basic - not much more than a shack really. But it had two fans and mosquito nets, which was good.

NorwayIt's difficult to explain how special this place is, I cannot recommend it enough! The view, restaurant, bar, the locals, the village - all incredible. The family that run this place are some of the nicest people I met in the Caribbean. I stayed in a tree house and felt super safe (left my luggage, laptop etc there), note that there is a short walk to the main building to use electricity and toilet if you're staying in a tree house. I had the dinner one night and it was delicious, spoke to other guests who did it every night and said it was different each time. Very easy 30 minute walk to Trafalgar Falls, 2 minutes to a small kiosk and bakery in the village.

United KingdomThe standard is a little basic so with a lot of rain that we had you start to struggle where to dry your clothes. Also the bathroom is quirky but basic.
It’s a lovely family business that’s so welcoming and friendly it immediately makes you feel at home. The meals are all home cooked, delicious and authentic. You can hang out at the bar, talk to people and just enjoy yourself. It’s fabulous. The location is perfect for many top attractions and also to get to Roseau.

BarbadosAlthough we booked the treehouse the reality of sleeping in a hammock, in a room open to the elements with outdoor cold water shower and toilet was not for us. The accommodation would excellent for backpackers and hikers which would explain the fact that it is fully booked. We were upgraded to Pommerack room 2.
Breakfast was banana and watermelon, delicious omelet, toasted bread and marmalade and coffee. The location made you feel as if you were in the forest with nature all around, truly breathtaking.

United KingdomI want to state that this is out of their control - the weather was heavy rain and super windy - trying to sleep a few of our nights was rough. Also love the surroundings area but be prepared to wake up by nearby dogs barking and chickens crowing. Also slightly struggled with hot water for the duration of our stay.
loved the family atmosphere and vibe of the place. feels like a home more than hotel, very welcoming. we loved breakfast each morning and we booked a dinner there which was local and delicious! surrounded by the baths and waterfalls nearby in the mountains.

GermanyThe rooms are private but I could hear everything in the room next door - full conversations and snoring. It wasn't a big issue for me as I have ear plugs and am used to sleeping hostels.
It was a beautiful experience staying in le petit paradis. Everyone is super friendly, helpful and welcoming.the food is local and tastes amazing - you will definitely try things you never had before. There's many rooms so you're likely to meet some other travelers of you're up for it.

United KingdomYou should be aware that the rooms are not sound proof and will let in mosquitoes etc. It didn't bother me. There are nets too.
Staff feel more like your family. So friendly. Joan cooks incredible food. The view of the mountains is beautiful. Getting around without a vehicle was difficult but possible. I hitched when I couldn't find a bus. It's a longer walk to Laudat than I was expecting. But there are things to do close-by in Wotten Waven too, such as hot baths. Thank you!!

GermanyAl and Joan, who run this place, were some of the most friendly and warm hearted people I've ever met. And you can see that they care about the people who visit Le Petit Paradise. If you're there, you have to try the beautiful food that Joan cooks fresh in authentic Dominican style, every evening. It's marvelous. And the location is perfect too. From there you can reach many of the best places in Guadeloupe easily. By hitchhiking, taking the local minibus, or with your own car or even walking. It really is a little paradise.
