Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

RomaniaNo cons, I had a wonderful stay at this great spot.
Placed few steps away from downtown Eisenach, a great spot for business, romantic or transit stays. Great breakfast, friendly staff, cozy mood all around. Ask at reception, for an umbrella if rain is calling. For those coming by car, great parking spots at a fair price/day. Enjoy your stay.

GermanyNothing. All good!
The breakfasts were great. So much choice and it was very practical for me that they started as of 6:30 a.m. during the week. I also liked that they are environmentally conscious. One needs to opt into daily room cleaning and a water cooler and large reusable glass water bottles are available to guests instead of individual bottles.

GermanyEverything was excellent, I could not say anything negative. The staff was polite, and the cleanliness was on very high level.
I hadn't a breakfast, so I can't say anything about it. The room was very clean, with clean linens and bedsheets. There were many towels, which were also clean. The bathroom was absolutely clean too. The only thing that I could have a remark is that there was a bathrobe in the wardrobe but I didn't know that. I saw it after I didn't need it anymore. I don't whether this is a standard practice to put it there or not because I don't travel much but it would be good to be in a more visible place like on the bed or in the bathroom. The location is excellent, close to the city centre and not far away from the train station. Just less than 15 minutes by foot from the station. There are also fitness and sauna which are for free. I didn't use the fitness because I was at the hotel after the closing hour of the fitness. However, the sauna is great, small and very cosy, with a relatively big relaxation zone. The cleanliness of the sauna was flawless too. The Wi-Fi connection was with good speed.

GermanyThere are always some small things which you would like to improve - for example, there were bathrobes in our room but no slippers. Also it would be great to have couple of hooks for towels.
We got a very nice room at the 4th floor. The room was all clean, the bed comfortable, staff is very friendly. Location of the hotel is convenient - we arrived by train and it was quick and easy to get by foot to the hotel from railway station. Around the hotel we could walk along nice central Eisenach streets, lots of caffes and restaurants. We also did hiking and visited Wartburg very conveniently (all by foot). Especially I'd like to thank the hotel for the great breakfast - a very good choice of everything and all very testy - absolutely worth the money you pay for it.

Germany-the hangers for the towels are not practical for big towels .
The hotel is in the central area.(2 minutes walk to the main square) and it is 10 minutes away from the main train station. the room was clean and the furniture was in good shape. It was the perfect location for a 3 days trip to see Wartburg and the surroundings

GermanyFitting carpets in the room (allergy). Would be also handy to have a stool or a rack to hang on clothing in the bathroom. It's a pity there is no disposable bath amenities (little tube of toothpaste/bathcap, etc.) which is used to be standard for 4*, however it might be a part of environmental policy of the hotel.
Very central but quiet, spotlessly clean, spacious rooms, coffee machine, rich breakfast, restaurant in the hotel, very professional and friendly staff (reception/restaurant/bar). Hotel-owned parking place for guests (10Eur/day) is a big plus because there are no other parking options in the nearest neighborhood. Walking distance to Wartburg.

NetherlandsRequest for Quiet room does not mean a room next to kitchen ventilation shaft (Room 201). Produces a sound not unlike the dark engine sound of a cruise ship at full sea. Sound stopped usually at 10 pm.
just outside citycenter, therefore fairly quiet.

United StatesI encountered 2 issues : 1. During my mid-July stay, it was super hot (35deg C in the day). I had an uncomfortable, sweaty night with no air-con, fan or airflow in the room. There was a window, but it only opened a crack, and with the curtains closed, no air got in. And one must close the curtains because it looks out onto a carpark, with other buildings facing. I know air-con is not standard in Germany. But with climate change, heat waves are becoming more common. So perhaps the hotel might consider some cooling measures for summer. And, to be clear, I spent 9 yrs living in SE Asia, on the equator, so I am used to heat. But I never slept anywhere hot without at least a fan. 2. motion-sensing night lights under each bedside table. Strangely, If I rolled over in bed and my hand went over the side of the mattress, it would turn on. So, while I appreciate the safety aspect of this, it is overkill and when I would manage to fall into a fitful sweaty sleep, to be awakened if I moved my hand the wrong way, that was troublesome. I ended up pushing the chair up against the table to block it in the middle of the night and that fixed the problem. In short, these two downsides are fixable. And the hotel has lots of positives going for it. So, I would stay here again, but maybe not in mid July.
The best aspects were : 1. The staff (everyone so genuinely kind, helpful and willing to chat). Some of the nicest hotel staff I have experienced. Because I really like people, this made a big difference to me. And although I speak broken German, they were able to help me out by speaking English. I especially appreciated that when I told them that I messed up and didn’t close the shower door exactly the right way and caused it to leak, and even made the carpet wet, even though I felt super embarrassed and kept apologising, they acted like it was no big deal. That’s what I call excellent customer service and hospitality. 2. The outstanding breakfast buffet with everything one could want, in a nice atmosphere. Holy smokes, one cannot go hungry. And the space is very large - no problem to get a table. 3. The awesome location. Super easy to find and a 11 minute, pleasant walk from the train station. Do not bother with the bus - buses seem very infrequent in Eisenach. And there is shade most of the way thanks to the buildings that line the streets. 4. Size of the rooms is great and the water pressure in the shower is excellent.
