How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

Nice but not very functional... Like shower is quite "open" splashing part of the bathroom, or a street light going directly to my eyes when trying to sleep becaus curtains did not closed completely... Minor things except... The dishes were not properly clean, some of them had some tomato sauce from previous tenants, or glasses felt like glued to the cupboard for some unknown reason. I washed them and problem solved.

Verified reviewGreat clean rooms and quiet location just outside of the town. Supermarket and market a short walk a way. Decent cooking equipment and lots of windows to air the apartment. 5 min walk into town and safe bike lockup in the courtyard.
Knives were very blunt so lucky I had a pocket knife.

The room was small and not like what we saw online. There was a reception but most of the time it was closed. The contact number given to us never worked- not even in case of emergency. There is a small lift (which can accommodate only one person with 2 bags at a time) but it is very scary to use. We had an early morning check - out and my friend took the lift to go downstairs with her luggage but the lift got stuck in the middle. Luckily the outer door of the lift opened up and my friend cud communicate with me. I ran helter skelter to find help, called on the number written on the door of reception also but cudnt find any help. Luckily there was a lady guest, who had come out for an early morning smoke and I tried to explain her the situation and she helped me in coordinating with the property manager, who ultimately came after few mins to rescue my friend from the lift and also helped us to get the luggage down from the stairs. But those 10 -15 mins my friend was stuck in the lift were so scary.

The elevator is small, as described, and while it may feel tight with large luggage, it is regularly maintained and safe to use. In your situation, it seems the elevator doors could not close properly due to the positioning of the suitcases. We're truly sorry this led to a brief delay and distress. We're very glad that another guest was able to assist you in reaching us, and that we could resolve the situation quickly. Verified reviewFantastic location, really welcoming and helpful with our special requests. Large modern comfortable apartment that was very clean with lots of kitchen essentials.
An eye mask was needed for the bedroom and a better curtain arrangement would make this a 10/10. Little nervous about the tiny old fashioned lift but it did its job.

The rooms are not cookie-cutter but are all a little different, each with their own eccentricities. I really enjoyed my stay; I felt I was living there, not just staying there. Verified reviewThe location of Living am Carlsplatz is awesome, you are right next to a bakery, that makes awesome fresh bread or rolls in the morning, you are very close to Rewe and Lidl as well as the Carlsplatz Market - awesome food and you are very close to the Altstadt as well as the U-bahn and the trams. Although you are in a big city noise levels are low. Quite funny - there a chickens running around - and no they do not wake you up in the morning.
Unfortunately, we had very hot weather during our stay and the aircon was non functional, well it did not cool. The team did however place a fan in the room that helped a bit and they offered for us to change rooms but we had just unpacked and did not want to pack everything again so we declined the offer. They did schedule a repair with technicians but it was not fixed before we left. So I guess if we had moved we would not have had this issue. :-)

Please note that there is no elevator directly in the building – however, there is an elevator in the connected parking garage that our guests are welcome to use.
