Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

AustraliaEach box needed a little more sound proofing. A bit dangerous for the guests upstairs. Needed a few more cups and bowls.
It was intriguing very memorable.

EgyptThe check in could have went smoother. I got a wrong code on my email and kept trying to unlock the door with it. After having failed many times i tried calling the staff, no luck. Eventually i was able to get in contact with a friendly person on booking who gave me the right code
I loved how flexible they were with the check in and out. I was able to check in late around 2am

SpainOnly one toilet and there was 16 people staying in this place that needed to go to the bathroom. There are two showers but one shower is just behind a measly curtain in the open space where everyone is. The rooms are not really private, you are crammed into a small space that is built by plywood, and can hear everyone and see all the lights on (like a hostel). Climbing up to your space if you are on the top is on a tiny little ladder and very hard to do. The bed linen didn't seem clean. The host changed the password to get into the accomodation but didn't tell us. We had to call him to get the new one, to which he said he had already sent us the new door code, which was untrue. The shared space of couches and a table to eat at are all in the same room as the beds, so there is no where to sit and talk. The laundry machines don't work. The location of the place is not very conveinent. The closest tram stop was a 15 minute walk away.
The space is very well-heated, we never felt cold. The showers, floors, and counter tops were generally clean. It was the cheapest option available we could find. It is accessible to the Dresden city centre by public transport.

GermanyThe “rooms” are misleading. You’re staying in basically a wooden locker and could hear everything happening around you in the room so there was no privacy. I think it’s a “private bunk” not a “private room” - so it’s very misleading. Also the bedding was very scratchy and uncomfortable.
It was pretty easy and straight forward - seamless.

SpainI can t imagine how hot must it be in summer to stay in thus wooden box with no circulation here. Lvl of noise terrible. This place also suppose a BIG danger of fire, since everything is wooden and idk if this goes in corcondance with the fire protection legislation...
I understand the concept but thr box are made of pallets, this mean you can hear everything from the other boxes. There is no air condution.

United StatesCaution: This is a hostel. We booked the double private room and so were surprised to instead find the "rooms" were capsule hostels made of plywood. Also be sure to bring your own lock, which will attach to the outside of the plywood capsule box for your bed. The location is further from city center. It takes ~30+ min by public transportation to get to the various touristic areas.
If you are looking for a cheap price, come here. We travel on a budget and therefore chose this accommodations for the price. It was safe, the capsule/bed could be locked from the outside and inside so there was plenty of room to store our luggage on the bed. There was also a 0.5m by 1.5m section of storage space behind the bed for luggage.

NetherlandsThis accommodation will suit young and energetic guys. I do not recommend this place for disabled people. As well as lovers of comfort, and silence, but who do not like to pay for it. This option is not for you. There are 8 boxes for two people in the hostel, but there is only one toilet. The box must be closed with its own lock. It was very stuffy in the box, the fan didn't work in our box N7.
Very low price. Be sure to take a lock for the box and slippers with you. The lock for the box in the hostel costs 4€

ItalyThe position is kinda hidden, should be using some advertising to guide you to the place, mostly during the night, since we almost get some other place instead. The price is a bit to much for what is for, but affordable
Beds were comfortable enough and the place overall was well clean. If the people aren't noisy, you get enough sleep and it's okay for one night

GermanyThe name says it all. A private room with a shared bathroom was promised, but in fact it is only a large room with boxes assembled with pallets. The boxes are very small and consist almost only of the mattress itself, there is hardly any storage space. The boxes are all directly next to and on top of each other and are only separated from each other by a thin pressboard. The panels are not even continuous up to the ceiling but leave a gap so that there is no sound insulation at all from the other guests. A sleeping mask and earplugs are therefore highly advisable. They are sold in the hostel for a fee, which should have been pointed out in advance! The mattress is okay, but the blanket is a cheek (it doesn't even feel like fabric, but more like plastic). The access to the boxes is very difficult. Overall, you feel crammed in like a chicken in a laying battery. There is only one toilet for eight boxes (and thus potentially 16 guests)! There is a second shower, but it is not physically separated, it is in the middle of the room and only separated by a curtain. In practice, all guests thus share a single bathroom. The cleanliness of the bathroom and the showers also leaves a lot to be desired. The floor was almost always dirty, the drain blocked. There is one small towel per guest, but no shampoo (there was only hand soap in the shower). There is a kitchen, but no hot plate. Overall, we were disappointed with the accommodation. It is cheap, but for a good price-performance ratio you need not only a good price, but also an acceptable performance. The biggest shortcoming is definitely the marketing of the accommodation. Online it is sold as a "private room with shared bathroom", although it is de facto a mixed dormitory with no privacy. The photos are also deceptive, as the boxes themselves are only shown at the very bottom of the gallery.
Self-check-in, kitchen, reasonable price, friendly staff.

AustraliaWe were on the top box which didn’t have a roof so if lights were turned on by other people outside the boxes it became very bright. The walls are not soundproof at all, we were awoken by a loud phone call in the common area at 3am and a couple who used the location for a quick hook up :/ Experience might vary depending on your neighbours, more like a bunk bed with curtains then a private room. Hard to fit bigger bags we had to leave ours on the bed.
This was a unique experience for sure. I found it kind of fun for a couple nights. The boxes give some level of privacy compared to a hostel. Box and bathrooms were clean. Great if you are wanting somewhere cheap to crash for the night.

GermanyThe Covid test station in the same room in which you basically sleep in was my major problem. The room was "see through", due to being built out of pallets, so you have to change in the dark. I believe the title "hotel" is misleading: It tends to hostel clientele, all the boxes are built into one big room so it feels more like one shared big room. Also just one toilet is a little bit difficult for 16 people if it fully booked.
It is very cheap and is tending to the "hostel crowd" with the illusion of having privacy. Staff was very nice! There is a vending machine for coffee & snacks. It has a fridge and an additional shower in the sleeping room (in case the bathroom is blocked)

BrazilWould be perfect that there is a curfew time. Because there was a couple arriving always late, after 22:00 and talking very loud, discussion, burping until 1:00. The both night that I was there. The last night I need to wake up very early and I couldn’t sleep. Some people can’t not respect the others, so need to have some rules for them to follow in order to respect as a law.

SerbiaPretty far from the centre, which would not be an issue if the staff told us how to get to the centre. There are two bus lines leading nowhere, and a tram line leading to the centre, though 15 minute walk away from the property. Capsules are not completely sound isolated, there is 20 cm gap at the top of the wall towards the next capsule. Only one toilet and two showers for the entire hostel, one of the showers being in the hallway, protected only by the curtain from it.
Check in instructions are clear. Beds are comfy and the capsule is quite spacious. Two plug-ins available. Good wifi.

FinlandThere was a padlock in only some capsule doors. You could buy one from a vending machine for 4€ but the machine was out of locks. There's only one WC for 8 capsules (2 people each, so in total could be up to 16 people), which might be problematic when they're all full.
The capsules were bigger than I expected. There were no other guests at the time, so it was very peaceful. There was a microwave and a vending machine you could buy snacks from. The machine made some noise but we could sleep through it fine.

PolandWe recommend this place only because of the fact that me and my partner were alone for the whole stay. Could be worse if we had other people staying there. Additionally, if you sleep in the top box, you are able to check in your neighbor's box, 0 privacy. Bottom boxes are fine.

Only for hardcore tourist below 30 years. Really, first have a look at what you are really booking - i did not do it because i ordered it via cellphone while driving the car. it is really just a matrace in a box .. nothing more, nothing less
