How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

Verified reviewRoom was good size. No air conditioning and no fan un room. Shared bathroom and small kitchen with washing machine.
Self service accomodatoon (no person to meet or speak with upon arrival). I have been utilizing self-service accommodations for two months now in eastern Europe. Never had a problem. Once I paid for room on booking.com, I received an email from the host demanding me to finish booking accommodation on a different website (Arthur). So, you have to visit a separate site, not in booking.com. On this website, they want your passport details, address, ect. If you dont use this website (Arthur), you forfeit the payment you made on booking.com. You must also accept their terms and conditions on the Arthur website. The terms and conditions and conditions are not in English. I asked them to send me the English language version, and they stated there is no English language translation available. At this point, I requested them to cancel my reservation. They refused to cancel my reservation. I then requested the code without using Arthur. I told them to give me the code as I was not dealing with this website (scam?). The next day, they sent me the code to gain access to building. The following day, I showed up at property and, the code they provided did not work. I waited 1.5 hours for someone to show up and provide me a key for the door/room (3 persons showed up, but none spoke English). The next day, the host contacted me and claimed they had a system failure. No doubt the system they use for the booking and to gain access to building are both failures. Location: More than 1 mile walk from train station to apartments. My recommendation: Just stay in town and don't go down this rabbit hole.

Verified reviewThe location is excellent. The old town is a half-hour walk away, starting from the historic covered bridge near the hotel and passing two large supermarkets. There are an excellent restaurant and rafting piers nearby. Rooms are equipped with a kitchenette and a fridge. Free parking is available next to the building.
Bathrooms are shared. There are only a few showers. If there is a lot of guests, there may be queues for the bathroom.

Verified reviewClean, good value stopover. Shared kitchen means you can prepare some food for the day.
This place is designed as a place to put your head down for the night. Two showers and toilets for the whole building for the ladies.

Verified reviewGreat location - like 20 min walk from the old town, easy accses, easy check in. It is quiet and calm
I was a bit surprised that there were no towels. I mean I missed the part with the one bath/toilet for all in the reservation details - it was not a problem for me. But the lack of towels was a bit unpleasant surprise. I mean - towels are thing that you expext in every hotel, and I didn't thought, that I had to look specificaly for this when I made a reservation. I didn't follow the most inprtant tip in the "The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy" - ALWAYS CARRY A TOWEL - so it is my falt. But eveeything else considering the prise was perfectly fine

Verified reviewA remotely run prison style hostel in a nice and quiet residential area, around 30 minutes walk from the village centre. Price to quality ration was not bad. There is a small kitchen.
The check-in process was complicated and bureaucratic. The bed was uncomfortable. The hall was dark during day and night although there are 2 sets of lights with manual switch but it switched off quickly. It was a pain and scary. Bathroom, toilet and kitchen was at the end of the long hall. Check-out time was 10 am and received an email at 9 am to vacate the room on time. Felt a bit pressured.

Verified reviewIt's a bit of a walk to the location, but the place is peaceful. There is a nice place near the river bank to sit and watch the river /rafters. It was clean as well and the cleaning lady was very kind.
The distance from the bus stop.

Verified review• Well equipped premises • Clean rooms • Clean bathrooms • Great shower pressure and temperature • Easy access • Efficient self-check in • New fridge • New kitchen appliances You have to cross an AMAZING wooden bridge to go to the centre. If you stay in the centre, you'll NEVER have this opportunity.
- If I have to say something, it's that it would be great to have a towel ;)

Verified reviewThe place was really clean, easy check-in and check out, big room with everything needed, not bad location, quiet surroundings.
Beds were really uncomfortable, pillows were as flat as a shoe sole, but it's very typical in these kind of places. I also think it was quite expensive when you have to share kitchen and bathroom.

Verified reviewThe hotel was very quiet, I haven't slept this well in a long time. The rooms have a small kitchen area with a refrigerator and a sink. Besides that, there is a microwave in the shared kitchen. The hotel has a concept from the 80s; all the furniture and items are in the style of 40 years ago, but they are not dirty or worn out. The hotel manager is a sweet old man who doesn’t speak English. He gave us a sort of training on staying at the hotel through gestures, like showing us to turn on the light when entering the bathroom and turn it off when leaving :) Overall, it was a place where we felt comfortable
It’s located about a half-hour walk from the city center but close to the starting point for rafting. There is no air conditioning in the rooms, and since our room facing the river gets the afternoon sun, it was quite warm in the evening
