Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomThe Bells! Because we didn't take the option for the Air Conditioning, we had to leave the windows open on the hot nights. There are four bell towers around this apartment and they each rang the quarter, and slightly different timings. That's 112 sets of chimes in a 7-hour night; I heard EVERY single one of them! On a lower floor, this problem might not exist, and if you can keep the windows closed there is no problem. I am not against Church Bells - I just don't want to hear them when I'm sleeping.
WE had a Loft apartment with one double bed and two separate singles - we only used the double. The room was full of character, and some low beams (ouch). There was a fridge, but to use a kettle we had to go down one floor. Air Conditioning is extra and we didn't choose this. The location is above a well known Inn that is popular with locals. It was a bit a chaotic, and when we went for a meal service was slow because of too many people. However, this Inn did not impact on our stay; there was no noise late at night. The street was full of character, and lots of interesting shops, bars, cafes, restaurants.

Czech RepublicCharging 4€ for using AC seems cheap and miserable. Shower was disgustingly dirty. Seems that people owning this cares more about the pub downstairs that they also own since customers were quite loud outside until midnight.
Room itself was pretty and bed was really comfy.

HungaryExcellent location in the old town, with a quite good pub in the ground floor of the house. Rooms are big enough, beds are comfortable. No staff on site, but all the necessary information about arriving (eg. PIN codes) and leaving were communicated in time, and precisely. The do not serve breakfast, but there are pretty good cafes and bakeris nearby

Czech RepublicThe room is a bit dated BUT for the price and location, we can't really complain :) Besides, we didn't spend much time in the room. A bit noisy from the street but you can expect that in the city centre. I loved the vibe of the city.
Great location (in the city centre, everything you need is nearby). Little Common area where you can make tra/coffee, really nice! Clean. Self check in. No free parking (only for 15 minutes to get your luggage in) but you can park about 15 minutes away for a good rate (public car park). Mini fridge in the room and a fan! Great for the summer :)

United KingdomA couple of things were nice: 1. Convenience: There was no staff and check-in was done in advance online through a website. All you need is to get the code and use it for entry upon arrival. It is probably not for everyone. 2. Nice view from the room: I was lucky enough to get a glimpse of one of the main attractions (Dominican monastery?) from the window. 3. Location: 3-minute walking distance from Náměstí Přemysla Otakara II, there are plenty nice restaurants, bars, and cafes around. I visited during the Christmas period. The Christmas market was in the aforementioned square and it was definitely worth the visit.

TaiwanThe room was clean, but felt stuffy. I need to open the window to get fresh air. There were noises from restaurant guests in the evening occasionally, but it did not bother me much. No elevator, so you need to carry the luggage up for many steps.
it’s right next to the town square, at the very convenient location. There are plenty of restaurants to choose from.

NetherlandsIt's an attic space, so the ceiling is really low. It's impossible to be for a long time in a room without airco on, so be ready to pay extra 5eur/100kr per night to use it (luckily it's available).
The room is freshly renovated, located on the attic, so no intense smell or noise from the restaurant downstairs.

BrazilBed was too soft for my taste. There was a very strong smell coming from the room window (room 7), couldn’t leave it open overnight and it’s summer, it was quite hot. Charge €5 for the ac per day, still a bit shocked by that.
Very well located. The room is big enough for one person. They were very fast to reply to any of the messages I sent. I kindly asked them to check out at 11am and they were really understandable.

GermanyPerhaps not the most suitable location for travellers who cannot sleep within a mildly boisterous neighbourhood.
Central location. Easy access. Easy check-in & check-out. Excellent bakery right across the street. The famous "Masne Kramy" restaurant and beer hall owned by the Budvar brewery is on the same block.

HungaryIt was a bit hard to find the entrance. It works with a code, even the room inside the hotel. Honestly this I didn't like, every time I had to open my emails to check the code. Self-check in is great and appreciated, but really 0 staff there and it felt odd a bit like a ghost hotel.
The room was simple, but nice and functional, mattrace super comfortable. Good bathroom. Great view from to the neighbouring church and streets from the window. I recommend this place, amazing location, comfy room, enjoyed my stay here.
