How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

Verified reviewVery friendly gentleman running the place. Very clean. Room was tiny but absolutely comfortable and nice feeling. A cold breakfast included in price. and the gent got up early to make it ready. Nothing fancy but a great surprise. A separate dining room looking into the garden. Nice place to sit before going to bed.
Like all Czech pensions, beds are hard as planks.

Verified reviewThis is a regular house converted into a pension. The bedroom (in the attic) was charming, with all the exposed beams, had a table and closet and was quiet. It had an AC that worked although it did not turn on until after 5 tries. Breakfast in a nice downstairs dining-kitcheen room overlooking a nice garden was basic (loads of bread and coffee and tea with some cold cuts and butter) but enough considering the price. It was a flat short walk to city center
The beds were made with no bottom sheet (instead there was a bed protector that did not seem to have been washed that pretended to pass as bottom sheet). We had to insist to get those sheets that were clearly present in the other bedrooms in offer. That attic unit was a hazard with all the beams and the toilet and sink in the en-suite bathroom had unacceptable low beams. The two beds were set on a straight angle and did not have the basic side table with light and electric outlet.

Verified reviewThe hotel is located in a quite an aged building, it is small, not many rooms, so it is quiet, interesting and nice; not like contemporary big hotels. It is located on a quiet narrow street of 2-floor houses, quite far from city center, though a tram is at the adjacent street to get to the Old town (~25 min). The tram can be easily paid by a card inside. The hostess is kind and helpful. She provides good breakfasts right into the room at a pre-agreed time, also she recommended a place for a dinner and guidance around the city. Actually that was all we needed.
Please take into account the parking nearby can become paid during the working hours. Please refer to hostess for directions. We were advised for a place on an adjacent street.

Verified reviewVery caring staff. Breakfast was brought to our room. Clean and cozy.
Parking near the apartments is paid, which is not a big issue, but we weren’t prepared for it. We lost a bit of time figuring out how to pay for parking.

Verified reviewThe room is big and the beds are comfortable. It was really quiet which we appreciated since we needed rest from a long trip. The breakfast was also good, especially the coffee.
The washbasin in the bathroom was leaking, so we had to brush our teeth in the shower. It was really late and the owner doesn't speak English or German, so we didn't say anything. He was still very nice and we always value a pet-friendly accomodation.

Verified reviewThe place is very quiet, and this is its main advantage. We've got the room in the attic and it was truly rustic, but we didn't mind that. The hosts were nice. The breakfast was modest but decent. I would say it is a fair value for money.
- It's not very convenient to use the toilet in the attic because of the low ceiling, but that's how the house is. - When we arrived, the hostess said that she had cancelled our reservation, although there was no information about this on the booking app. This made us panic for a moment, because it was already evening and we were very tired. But then the hostess said that she would prepare a room for us, so everything ended well.

Verified reviewI could not use this accommodation because no one was there when I arrived. It should be possible to come till the midnight, I was at 11:30 pm and the door was closed and no one answered my call on the phone. I knocked and rang the bell. Had to go to other accommodation

Verified reviewEasy to get to by tram from the train station. The host was very nice. Breakfast was simple in a good way, perfect to start the day and it was delivered to the room. What surprised me was the great quality of my mattress - usually they're too soft, but this one was just right and very comfortable.
The silliest thing: the shower head was a bit aged which is unfortunately detrimental to its spray usability and it took a very long time for warm water to reach the shower - but in the end I did have a refreshing warm shower all the same.

Verified reviewTram stations are pretty close.
We got the attic room that looks nothing like the pictures that are advertised on Booking. Getting to the room is difficult for people over 160cm in height. When you reach the top there is an almost hidden step that is barely visible with the light turned off. There is not even standing height in the bathroom. There is a hatch under the carpet that seems unstable when you walk over it. There is no light in the center of the room so even if you turn on the side lights it stays pretty dark. We don't know what the other rooms look like but we didn't get what has been advertised.

Verified reviewThe host was very friendly. The room is on the attic and quiet, but the air conditioner works fine to keep the room cool and comfortable. Wifi works well. There are free parking spaces on the streets around. Generally you can find available spaces, but there is no guarantee for that.
It is hard to find restaurants or large grocery outlets within walking distance.
