Skippy is a very warm and welcoming person. She arranged for an early check-in and also guided us about restaurants, pubs, and the must visit places. The location is very scenic, right next to the river. The rooms were rustic but cosy.

Great location, close to the town centre.

Pros: Skippy and the other proprieter are very friendly and solicitous. The hostel has a lovely terrace overlooking the water. There is a real personal touch because it is a small facility with a small number of rooms and guests. It is about a 10 minute walk from the town center. My room was very large.

Cons: While HS is a reasonable walk from the city center, you need to climb either a very long set of steps or climb up a bit of a hill to reach the place. It is also somewhat hard to find--at lesat if you are me and are directionally-challenged. The bathroom: You need to sit or kneel in the bathtub in order to take a shower. Also, I was given only one very small towel. Finally, my room had a large step at its door that you need to navigate to get into or out of the room. My first night, I woke in the middle of the night to use the bathroom. My room and the hallway were dark and I forgot about the big step, so I fell and scratched up my arm and knee. It was a scary experience. The next night, I tried to leave a light on in my room to avoid this problem, but the lamps did not work.

Bathroom, well the bathtub was full of hairs . The beds were very hard not comfortable at all. Though the place and location, the balcony was very nice.

It was too dirty to have shower, full of dust and spidernet. I am fine with having basic, but it should be clean, having things clean is must for running any accommodation.

The clearness, accessibility, not clear how to walk through all the obstacles, they insisted on taking my shoes off but the shoes they gave were beyond dirty. I am ready to provide pictures I do not post here hoping the owners fix things in the meantime.

Skippy is a great host. Good local knowledge and the river below the back deck is just divine!

Can't fault it, the shower perhaps is a little awkward as it's upstairs under a sloping ceiling but it's all nice and clean so no big deal.

Hannah and Skippy were so friendly. They offer such good value in their lovely characterful home. No time at all to walk to centre. Room has kettle, cups. Mine had sofa and chair, plus there is the outdoor balcony. Stay here!

The House and its location was perfect

Quaint house and local staff were lovely, cozy, welcoming, and gave helpful tourist information. More like a specialty B&B, less like a hostel. :-) Facilities are limited: only bathtub, no shower; kettle & fridge available, no microwave or element for cooking; internet worked most of the time. Location on narrow cobblestone street is cute, but hard to pull luggage up here over large uneven stones.

I liked it so much that I’m already thinking when I can come back! We were a family of 3 and stayed in the very cosy 4 single bed room.

Great location near to the historical centre. Cozy and lovely hostel. We had a spacious room with beautiful view on the river. The owner is really friendly, kind and helpful. She gives you an great advices where to eat etc. We really recommend this lovely accommodation.

The vibe was amazing, cozy place perfect for chilling weekend and super helpful landlady who recommended to us great places to eat. Everything was as described and clean.

This hostel was an absolute dream! A gorgeous little wooden cabin by the river with a lovely verandah overlooking the water. Rooms were spacious, host was incredibly lovely and helpful and everything was clean. It was amazing value!!

Only thing is a shower curtain might be good in the bathroom to prevent water from spilling on the floor! Otherwise it was perfect!!

The hostel is Skippy’s home which has a couple of spare bedrooms and a bathroom that everyone shares. It has a beautiful view out the window. She has the best tips for enjoying this cute little town.

Lots of stairs to get there so pack light.
