Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United StatesI didn't notice when I made the booking that the rooms have no internet provided, so I ended up using cellular data, which was sufficient, just make sure to read the fine print. The building is largely used for student housing, so the room next door was occupied by students who were very loud until late at night.
Very good and efficient for the price. Room was very spacious and located at a bus stop that took me very quickly into the center of the city.

SlovakiaIn the booking there was written 29.98 euro for 2 people but when I go there, their personal charged me 32.00 euro and said that there is different rate for czech crones. But deal is deal. If it is written in euro, they needed to charge that money.
It was student dormitories and I felt like a student there.

BelgiumSometime it got a little bit loud during the night because of people partying, but it wasn't very problematic for us.
We enjoyed the location of the hostel because you could take the funicular to reach the centre in the morning, without it being busy. Also a nice park and grocery store in the area with amazing bread. The hostel looks a bit like a dorm and was in order! Good price quality balance.

PolandThe hostel, being a student dorm, provides shared bathroom for entire floor so sometimes queues happened. The lights in the shower sometimes randomly went off causing my girlfriend to shower in the dark. The walls were thin and you could hear everything from nearby rooms. The doors were only openable with keys, so one person always had to be inside while the other went to the restroom etc. The location of the hostel (hill) means that you either have to take a bus or walk up (about 25 minutes of moderate walk)
The hostel is in fact a student dorm, that is what you should expect. The shower was hot and everything was clean, the hostel is located on a hill, which provides amazing views.

UkraineIf you want to humiliate yourself – welcome. This place is not meant for rent. You will be given an abandoned small room in a student dormitory, probably one that even the poorest students refused to live in. Old paint is falling from the walls onto your head. There is a shared shower for the whole floor, but it’s full of cockroaches that run in from the kitchen, which you will only dare to enter once just to see what it looks like. Men freely enter the women’s shower. Around 50 students live on the same floor, 6 floors in total, 11 buildings. After 2 AM they were still singing, shouting outside the doors, and the noise outside the window was no better. Complaining would be pointless: the students are just at home, doing what students usually do – drinking, singing, harassing girls. By 8:00 morning it feels like a summer camp, with speaker blasting music in the corridor. I can’t imagine who this accommodation could possibly be suitable for: for the same money you can stay in a normal tourist hostel. Total disrespect for guests – a can of paint costs less than a single booking, yet the walls haven’t been painted since the last century. The place is located on a hill, the funicular was dismantled long ago.
On the wall there is a large chart where students write down who had sex with whom, and in what way.

TurkeyWe chose it because it was one of the cheapest options, but we deeply regret it. During the night, the men staying in the next room banged on our door multiple times. We were too scared to make a sound, turned off the lights, and couldn’t sleep at all. There isn’t even a female-only wc. It was a terrifying, dirty, and extremely unsafe place. We had a horrible experience and absolutely do not recommend it!
