Reviews of New Rooftop Gem with stunning Oceanview

Annya is the perfect host – incredibly helpful and always ready to assist whenever needed. She went out of her way to make our stay as comfortable as possible. The accommodation itself was absolutely perfect: clean, well-equipped, and with a breathtaking view. We couldn't have asked for a better experience. Highly recommended!

Not much! "Just" basic equipment of the room and we would have preferred a door separating the bathroom from the bedroom. But it didnt really had a bad impact on our stay :-)

Annya was a great host. Very friendly, good suggestions and always available. We booked the two rooms, so we had the rooftop all four ourselves. The sea view is great! Walking distance to all restaurants and bars and beach (5 - 10 mins).

We didn’t realize the rooms were on the rooftop of an actual apartment, where Annya leaves. She was out the entire week, so no issue. But be aware you’ll be entering through someone else’s house. Also, the water heater sometimes didn’t work and when it did, the water pressure is low (not a big issue, considering the average temperature in Cabo Verde, and it’s a small islands with no natural water streams…). We booked the two rooms, but in case you’re booking only one and the other one is occupied, the privacy is very reduced and the rooftop is for sharing. Finally, the beach in front of the apartment has a lot of rocks, so not the ideal location if you’re looking to have a great beach right in front of you. A good beach is located 10mins away, though.

Great location (bit out of the center, which means is more quiet, but still walking distance). Recent renovation with a modern look. Nice open shared terrace. Host was friendly and easy to communicate with.

Couple things that are not immediately obvious but I feel guests should know in advance: - Terrace is shared (as of this review this is stated is in the host´s personal description, not on the accommodation´s) - Bathrooms don´t have a door ! Guess it´s not the end of the world but probably not what you want if it´s your first trip together. - Terrace furniture is different from the pictures (and as you may guess a bit of a downgrade) We stayed for a week and no cleaning was offered for "security reasons", considering the streets are often covered with dust and the beach is nearby, it means the room gets pretty dirty after a few days... Also small details like no shower gel or shampoo feel a bit cheap (this is actually intentional as we did request it and was denied).

Robert was a very nice person. He was flexible in most cases with check-in.

Great view and nice host but advertisement was not transparent. The main let down was lack of privacy (hostel like) & lack of security (sliding doors did not lock). Firstly, the apartment is advertised as a penthouse but the upstairs outdoor space is shared with another room with same dimensions and you must walk though private living space downstairs each time you enter home to get to your rooms upstairs. May not be an issue for some, but this penthouse was not advertised as shared community rooms similar to a hostel experience with private bathroom. Secondly the sliding door did not latch on the ends although the center would lock with key. This quickly became a security concern, so I took my passport and money to beach and restaurants daily. Not a great feeling knowing anyone can access room while sleeping and when away from room. Again, great view but advertisement was not transparent.

Robert is a truly wonderful host! He made us feel welcome right away and offered to show us around Santa Maria. He helped us every day with any question we had. The apartment is really neat and modern, everything you need. Would definitely come again.

From the moment we arrived, we knew we were in for a truly magical experience. First and foremost, we would like to express our deepest gratitude towards the warmhearted and incredibly supportive owner, Mr. Robert. He went above and beyond to ensure that our stay was nothing short of exceptional. His vast knowledge of the city and his extensive connections truly make him the go-to person for all things Santa Maria. Whatever we needed, Mr. Robert was there to assist us, proving that he is indeed the man who knows everything and everyone in town. Thanks to Mr. Robert, we were introduced to the phenomenal Kiteschool "Surf Shop Cabo Verde." Our experience there was nothing short of fantastic. The professionalism of the instructors and their passion for kitesurfing were evident from the very beginning. Within just two days, my wife and I were able to kite almost independently, which was an absolute thrill. We are incredibly thankful to Mr. Robert for connecting us to this amazing kiteschool and making this experience possible. By the way, it is one of the best kiteschool in Santa Maria. Please book in advance. Not only did Mr. Robert provide us with an incredible kitesurfing adventure, but he also recommended the best restaurants in town. And believe us when we say he was spot on! Each and every dining experience was a culinary delight, leaving our taste buds in awe. Mr. Robert's knowledge of the local dining scene truly enhanced our stay, and we'd highly recommend following his recommendations for an unforgettable gastronomic journey. Now, let's talk about the penthouse. This place is simply the best with an incredible view. The moment we stepped onto the rooftop terrace, we were greeted by an awe-inspiring panorama of the ocean that left us speechless.

Absolutely stunning flat with a gorgeous view of the ocean. Robert was super friendly and incredibly helpful. We had great conversations and he went out of his way to help us. He also gave great tips with restaurants and where to go, which we followed and did not regret at all!

Very nice place with amazing sea view , well located in Santa Maria . Clean and peaceful. The owner Robert is chill and caring and discreet, he knows the island pretty well so he can advise you an give you a lot of good tips. It would be perfect if they could add shower soap and shampoo and an iron for your clothes. I will definitely be back again!
