Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United Kingdom1) It’s a struggle to book a la Carte Restaurants such that we only used a la Carte for 2 nights out of a 7 night stay 2) Mosquitoes. There is so much mosquito. We sustained severe mosquitoe bites . The hotel may need to consider putting mosquito repellents and coils in the rooms
The rooms were clean and were cleaned every day . The property is close to Santa Maria where you do most activities It has a private beach which is really good and sandy Activities throughout the course of the day were good The Friday All White party is the best The activity team are brilliant Staff are very pleasant and helpful The A La Carte Restaurants were great

SwitzerlandI was disappointed that the waterpark wasn't working the only 2 nights we stayed there. I booked the hotel on purpose just for the waterpark because of my kids, but I guess it's not the hotels fault that the pump was broken. Our kitchen window couldn't be locked, so I didn't sleep peacefully, knowing some guests had bad experiences in the past. But luckily nothing happened! We wanted to go to the booked restaurants, it was fully booked everywhere, the only availability was in a week time, so maybe book it advance if you're thinking of trying the booked restaurants
The family suite with a private pool, food was good, drinks and cocktails also. The staff were very welcoming and friendly.

IrelandThe music for the entertainment by the pool was very loud for those who did not want to be involved. Even though we were the other side from the activity it was still disturbing. I appreciate that other people were enjoying it in that are but it should be slightly lower volume
The facilities were great and the staff were lovely, very close to the beach and not far from the main town

LuxembourgToo pricey for what the offers. Rooms were not even a 3 stars. Buffet low quality. Also we spent last day but otherwise this is not the nicest area in Santa Maria, the main city is far (3/4km) while that part is the nicest with nice beach to swim and nice bars and restaurants where to see the real Cape Verde
Nice resort by the beach in Sal. Nice pools and beach bars and nice facilities for kids

EstoniaIt needs few upgrades. Do not get me wrong. The pools were great but for example the tiles are missing from some places. It does not annoy swimming but does not look hard thing to fix as well. Choice of beers in all inclusive should be bigger :) i do not like that they did not replay to my message I sent a week before arrival via Booking.
Large area. Choice of pools were very good. I liked the food in the main restaurant buffet. I ate at two different a la carte restaurant as well but still thinks that the buffet was the best. I liked the crew who were friendly and helped if needed but I have to say that I did not need much help :) Rooms were clean and cleaned very well.

The location is beautiful and you can find everything you need in the resort, although prices for items outside the all inclusive deal is very expensive!

United Kingdom❌ WiFi is weak (really weak everywhere), even in the rooms and outside at the pool too -for this issue, we got different explanations from staff but, I just think the hotel due to huge number of quests must have stronger WiFi in the rooms at least. ❌ Rooms and towel changes only every two days. This also must be in daily basis because quests sweating al day (from swimming, daily activities, etc). However, these are ⬆️ can make you stress sometimes. ❌ The water activities are really good as I mentioned in positive part (fitness, aerobic), but sometimes disturbed by kids and also some kids disturbed the entertainment team during their job. In these type of activities the kids should be on the other side of the pool as the pool is huge enough and let the adults to do their activities. Also, the entertainment team ,,playing” around during some water activities and they should focus more. But they are doing a great job. 👏 Overall, beautiful time spent there. ✅ ❌ There are mosquitoes and they like to bite. But this is only nature. Have a cream for mosquitoes because I didn’t had that time 😁 ❌ In the city, Santa Maria, some places only accept cash (Escudos or euro), so always take cash with you 👍 BUT this isn’t hotel issue. This is generally speaking for everyone 👍
The motto is: Capo Verde No Stress. 🍻Sea side resort and it’s on nice and beautiful location, very huge hotel, nice food (buffet), 7 restaurants, some of them needs to book a day or two before you go there, as they are popular. The main restaurant (spicy restaurant) is huge with a lot of food and sweets. The Odyssey bar also open from morning till late night with musics on. There’s own swimming pools (Brava pool and Gabi beach), where adults and kids can be even separate pools. There are daily activities in the swimming pool (fitness, aerobic, pilates, etc), and at evenings too. The entertainment team (animation team), doing really great job with activities. Every night have some musics in the bar and in their amphitheater too (shows, karaoke, magic show, etc). Really enjoyable moments there. You sit down and just enjoy the moment 🥂. The city (Santa Maria) just 6 mins drive, and it’s cheap (6€ or 500 CVE) by taxi. Daily bus (10am and 10:15am) also available for hotel quests to take you to the city and bring (16pm) you back. The beach in Santa Maria is beautiful, nice, warm and you can see the local people how to clean and selling fishes. Taxi to the airport is 15/20 mins drive and 20€. The hotel from the back (where the other restaurants and shops are), opens into the bikini beach where’s clean, nice, green and warm sea water with hot sunny days and there’s a nice (bikini club) restaurant too. Also, the beach is close at night with security as the turtles turn up there sometimes. Protect the nature and wildlife. Beautiful place to be. Also, many opportunities to book outside activities (we also booked one day out with alman tours). So, Capo Verde No Stress. 🍻 ⏩️ During activities, especially on Cape Verde day, should play Cape Verde songs. There are many singer from the country (islands) and we barely heard one or two. Please guys (DJ L 😊), play more Cape Verde musics. 🎼

PortugalThe island had a problem with water, and the hotel was aware but made no effort whatsoever to alert incoming guests. I had no running water for the first three days of my stay because the hotel’s water reservoir ran out. For the first two days, this affected most of the hotel; on the third day, it was only my room, and it took them 24 hours to fix it. In the end, I had to wait in the reception until someone finally came. Be aware that booking did not reply to ANY OF MY MESSAGES TO HELP RESOLVE THIS PROBLEM!!!! They did not offer any solution or any compensation at all. We had to shower with cold water in the reception and use the toilets there as well. All the restaurants were fully booked for the entire duration of our stay as soon as we arrived. The food at the self-service restaurant was very poor — the fruit was often warm, and the pork served was raw inside. The rooms are very old, which would have been fine, except that housekeeping only came once during the whole week. They didn’t even replace the towels; we had to go and get them ourselves and then wait hours. I don’t consider myself picky, as I am used to staying in hostels and other types of facilities, but I do not recommend this hotel for the price.
People were nice and wifi was very good (a couple of times it was down but only for like 1 hour). They have a bus that takes you to santa maria in the morning and beings you back 4 hours later.

PortugalI didn't like everything about the hotel. Every day was a bad surprise. First of all, we don't have the information about what's included or not with "The Level" thing, on the Booking and when we arrive at the hotel. Sometimes we wait to much time to have dinner. The staff give us diferent informations. The hotel transfers is to much expensive than a taxi and we found out on the last day because one member of the staff told us. It is difficult to have towels for use at the pool or on the beach as well as in the rooms. We were entitled to a room closest to the beach, a robe, and slippers, but they weren't provided. Rooms are only cleaned every two days. We were entitled to a bathtub, but our room didn't have one, only a shower that was clogged with other guests' hair. The exclusive poolside lunch for The Level guests is of poor quality and consists only of snacks. We were banned from entering the restaurant for dinner on our first night because we were wearing flip-flops. We weren't informed of a dress code before leaving our country so we could comply with the restaurant's rules. This hotel doesn't meet the standards of a 5-star and isn't worth the all-inclusive rate. We saw many guests complaining, dissatisfied with everything. I don't recommend anyone coming to this disgraceful hotel, even with children.
