How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

Recommend a room on the garden side
Breakfast on the roof top terrace was one of the best. Very friendly staff and the manageress went out of her way to help us on several occasions

Privately-run small hotel with simple rooms but with sufficient space, comfortable beds, large bathroom with amenities, very clean, good air conditioning. Very good breakfast on the rooftop with plenty of choice, from fresh fruit to eggs, homemade cake, yogurts, etc. The rooftop also serves lunches and dinners. Quiet bar on the ground floor with good prices. The hotel is within walking distance of the center (Plateau) and the large daily market (Sucupira). Owner and staff are really attentive, helpful and very friendly. Owner arranges for tours, booking restaurants, renting a car, anything you need. Makes you feel at home!

The hotel is situated on a busy street, so rather noisy but all goes quiet after 10 pm. The rooftop terrace, even though nice, was a bit cold and windy especially for dinner.
The location, not far from the airport and the Plateau is great. The room is comfortable and nice. The members of the hotel staff are just wonderful, super friendly and very helpful. Breakfast and dinner are served on the rooftop terrace.

If you leave before 7am there's no breakfast just coffee and cake. The water backs up out of the blocked shower tray

Of course, it is a bit noisy in the room because of the street and dogs, but overall the location is good
The staff were very helpful in correspondence, we felt supported. It is a French hotel, so you can communicate in French. The shuttle picked us up at night, it was very nice and convenient. It is more expensive than a taxi, but it makes sense. The breakfast was simple but good, with tortilla and many fruits

A great small hotel where they do everything right. Comfortable rooms, good facilities, a convenient location, excellent management, a kind staff, and reasonably priced. Breakfast on the top floor terrace is a pleasure indeed. I will always stay here when in Praia.

Dinner menu should include more vegetarian options. Should have non-alcoholic beer as this is now available all over Europe and the US.
The manager Aleido speaks English and was very helpful in organizing excursions on other islands. Staff were all very polite and hel;ful. Rooms very clean. Nice dining balcony.

In the restaurant, the food took a long tome to come. This is, however,apparently the norm in Cape Verde
staff, particularly at recetion in the bar were really helpful friendly and efficient. Quite a contrast from other more expensive places we stayed in Cape Verde ,

Everything was great!
A great small hotel which is extremely comfortable, and where they do everything right. Amazing staff, excellent management, good location within walking distance of plateau, and a very nice and relaxing breakfast on the top floor terrace. Very helpful with my transportation. Reasonably priced. They make guests feel welcome. My highest recommendation.

If it was closer to the beach would be 10!
Extremely helpful and nice staff! The manager is a charming woman, who takes time in helping us with our flights! The breakfast is great: quality and quantity!! The room is perfectly clean and everything is new!

The price for the day tour Praia-Assomada-Tarrafal and back was more expensive at the hotel than at any tour agencies and in addition, the offer of the hotel would have included only driver and no guide.
Excellent breakfast with a fantastic view from the rooftop terrace over Praia. Small balcony towards to the calm backyard side. Big bathroom with window. Comfortable bed and enough space for clothes and suitcase. Very friendly and polite staff at the reception.

My first night - 1 st room was on a first floor and the noise from the road was noticeable ( I stayed 2 days in total ) , but it was all compensated by very friendly and welcoming hotel personnel.
Staff were very supportive , caring and friendly . Hotel is sparkling clean with good location.
