Beautiful grounds, very welcoming. Easy to get to and near many attractions (rope swing, La Fortuna, Arenal). Breakfast was hearty and delicious - we got tradicional and it included beans/rice, meat, plantains, eggs, and coffee. The rooms were SPOTLESS.

Breakfast was a good topical one. The view from the volcano is amazing and the hot shower 🚿 in private room is the best. Thanks

The wifi is very weak, it would be nice to have a stronger signal.

The gardens are really beautiful and you can see lots of birds, which is lovely. The breakfast in the morning is exceptional and really filling. Close to all the main spots.

The lodge is located at a perfect place- away from the crowds but so close to nature. Loved waking up to the sounds of the birds, rain, or thunder. There's a really nice place nearby to buy fresh coconut water and cane juice. The pets at the property are cute- the cat has mind of its own. The facilities are good as I prefer simplicity and it connects you to nature. The volcano view is amazing. The breakfast is also good and the lady who makes breakfast is very nice. Overall, I would recommend this place. Nothing flashy but only simplicity.

The location is unbeatable! You wake up with the volcano outside your window! The owner super friendly and she makes you your breakfast! Very close to la Fortuna waterfall (walking distance) and we were basically alone there (during rainy season) which was very quite and nice.

It gets a bit hot in the room and there is no airconditioning. We had two fans in the room which saved us and as soon as it rained the temperature was fine. Some ants in the room…do not leave trash in the trashcan

Breakfast was very good and on time, the garden/environment were beautiful, and the view of the volcano when it was clear was stunning.

There were some small problems with the room - the lights/fans temporarily did not work, and the bathroom did not smell good Maintenance was prompt in fixing the electrical problems!

My Arenal was right in our face; it was magnificent. The lodging was rustic, but met our needs. We did not have a car and Uber everywhere. No restaurants nearby; but Uber was cheap.

The host was very welcoming, the breakfast was very good (best fresh fruits ever!), sounds of the multitude of birds in the morning was out of this world beautiful, and the view of the volcano and the tropical garden surrounding the property were fantastic. The property is older, the rooms are small, but have the main basics. The views, the birds, and the local beauty make up for lack of luxury.

I would suggest adding a more clear sign that is lit at night at the entry, we arrived in late evening and missed the gate the first time.

Excellent location with virtually unobstructed views of Arenal volcano. The grounds are well maintained with a relaxing atmosphere. The breakfast that is included was good as well. The bed was comfortable enough for a 2 night stay. Easy parking available onsite. Everything seems to be well organized and good WiFi signal. Close by restaurants, 8 min drive to downtown and 3 min drive to Fortuna waterfall. As others have mentioned, the cabins are rustic but have what’s needed for comfortable stay. No TV if it matters to anyone, didn’t for us. The refrigerator is a big plus too.

The drawback is it’s not too far from main road leading to Fortuna waterfall so you’ll hear some car traffic. We did have ants when we checked in but they immediately took care of it when notified.

Tio Félix is very friendly, the location is perfect and the views of volcano arenal exceptional. The yard is splendid and well taken care of. Breakfast was good and we could even choose the time we wanted breakfast. Owners put bananas in the yard and it's super easy to look at all the birds!

You are surrounded by nature in a lovely room

I couldn’t find staff outside of breakfast time for support around taxis and things to do

The gardens are lovely and the Volcano is right outside the door. Tons of birds to watch. Big porch with rocking chairs to relax in.

We had a few ants come to our room one night. But- that is what happens in the rainforest.

The staff was very nice and caring, the traditional breakfast was great, the garden was amazing, the room comfy, friendly animals everywhere and the view was breathtaking.

An extra blanket would be nice
