Arriving at night was tricky as signs were not lit. Had to rate at 7.5 only because we had no hot water in shower.

Wonderful boutique hotel tucked into mountainside just above town. Walking distance!! Room was unique and private. Personnel extremely friendly and helpful

The facilities lack maintenance and are somewhat outdated. They offered breakfast from 7:00 to 9:30 AM, but when we showed up toward the end of that time, we were denied breakfast by the family (the owners), who were having their own meal at that moment—leaving my three children without anything to eat.

    Nothing.

About a 20 min drive to Playa Espadilla and the majority of the restaurants. Wish the room offered two beds instead of a bed and soft couch. Lights on our patio did not work. Wish they had a restaurant that offered more dinner options given how far they are from town.

Staff was very welcoming. We had a room right by the pool which was great. We loved the property and got to watch all the birds fly around every morning. The breakfast was amazing, my son loved the coconut and banana pancakes. The waterfall on property was great! Would 100% stay again.

The rooms are a bit dated (although still clean and comfortable). The parking lot was too full at times. The apartment we were in needed a few more cooking implements in order to be really functional (but they let us borrow what we needed from the hotel kitchen, so that solved the problem!)

Good location if you want to be able to walk into Quepos. The service was excellent - really friendly welcome and good communication by what’s app before arrival and help booking tours (we booked a tour of Manuel Antonio park via the hotel and it was great). Quirky and original design.

I believe the lady at the reception needs a raise as she handles so much from reception to breakfest service and I think more people should be employed as the waiting time for breakfest was more than an hour.

There was a limited bar menu and for such a lovely place there were a couple of minor fixes needed - running toilet and lights that flickered.

Really nice property, walkable distance to town of Quepos. Bed really comfortable, A/C great, and comfortable sitting area.

Restaurants are 15-20 min driving from the hotel (sometimes on pitch dark roads) - that was not an issue for us but i guess you need a car if you stay here. Make sure to let the staff know if you have mobility issues - the way up to some of the studios is easy but you need to take some stairs (heavy suitcases can be problematic). We booked The Nest and it was quite small but comfortable overall (the sliding door from the bathroom was broken so the door was not closing all the way).

We saw quite some wild life on the hotel premises: different types of monkeys and parrots. You could see the sea in the distance. We spent time on the terrace, was nice to have one (we booked The Nest). The staff was nice and they have 2 really chill dogs.

This wasn’t an issue for us, but there are a lot of steps depending on your room choice.

Very unique boutique family run hotel! Loved the creative design integrating the hotel into the landscape , wonderful views & location surrounded by trees. We stayed in the Nest, which was small but had great views & a little outdoor seating area. Hotel has a refreshing small pool with waterfall. The sons of the owner that worked there were extremely kind & helpful. They were accommodating - allowed us to drop our luggage off early before check-in & packed some fruit for us to take on an early morning excursion. Walking distance to Marina & Quepos.

Toilet wouldn't work well. Water wouldn't fill up after flushing. Neighbors were very loud. My lamp would flicker on and off constantly.

Love the location. Lots of birds and monkeys came to visit. Great breakfast. Nice pool and bar/restaurant on site. Awesome shower. Kept it clean.

The room smelt of old linen with musty odor. The ceiling evidently had water leak stains. The layout was quite a bit odd with access to each portion of the room at different levels. The tv ( equipment) in one of the rooms failed, and the person who came to check it out said that they had no alternative to fixing it. Overall, the room was dated and in need of being updated.

The staff was definitely responsive during 7am to 9m time. They have no staff on site between 9pm to 7am. It's almost impossible to troubleshoot any issues at night.

We arrived a 1pm but the room was not ready (which was fine as check in is 3pm) and we went to get some lunch, returning at 3pm. However the room was still not ready and we had to wait another 30 mins or so. The room had not been cleaned on the next day when we returned to get ready for dinner at 4pm, although we had been out since 7am. Shortly after we got back housekeeping showed up and wanted to clean the room which was totally inconvenient. The coffee set up in the room was on top of the fridge, where there is no plug for it without unplugging the TV or the fridge. The jug on the coffee machine was not the correct one so didn't work very well and getting coffee out of it was a bit hit and miss. We did not have breakfast on the first morning as we were going out too early but breakfast on the second day was poor. The choice is minimal (gallo pinto, eggs and toast or pancakes) and although both the gallo pinto and eggs on toast offered 'eggs to your liking' poached eggs were not possible, only scrambled or fried. The toast was three slices of stale french stick which seemed to have been 'toasted' in a slightly greasy pan- some somewhere between stale and fried bread. The parking is limited and so when it is full, finding space, manoeuvring and getting in/out of the car is challenging. The walk up to the room is advertised as slightly challenging, but the reality of the walk is quite different to the 18 steps mentioned and the health and safety hazards of wires trailing across the steps didn't help. The dinner offering was limited to burgers and pizzas.

The staff were helpful and pleasant. The tree top view was good.

Room wasn’t the one displayed online. Very overpriced for what it is. Dirty, uncomfortable, broken and stained sofa, kept falling apart. Broken items in the room, lights not working, cockroaches in room and ants in the sugar. Outdated. Dark and dingy. Peeling paint. No door handle on front door and wouldn’t stay shut, had to find a big rock to use to keep shut. Broken door latch. Lost electricity. Limited breakfast choices. Mediocre breakfast, burger buns for toast. Check out was complicated, was being charged for drinks and food we already paid for. We didn’t want our friend sleeping on the terrible sofa that was falling apart so the only other option they would do was to get her own room for full price. No compensation for anything on their part. We wanted to leave but they said booking had the no cancelation policy. They still got all the money from us and more for an extra room. Needs serious updates and better management of the property. Before this during our trip, we stayed at amazing places that we loved for much cheaper than this place.

Integrated into the nature, pretty pool, animals around the property. Cocktails were good. Some of the staff were friendly.
