I’m not sure I would change anything.

This was my second time staying here. We stayed in the Sasha junior suite. The staff is always so friendly, the food is phenomenal, and the views and property can’t be beat. If you’re looking for an authentic Costa Rican experience within walking distance of central Tamarindo, this is definitely a great choice. We will definitely be back !

    Nothing.

Eduardo and his team were fantastic! Great location 5 min drive into downtown Tamarindo. Room was spacious, bed comfortable and loved the outdoor bathroom and shower. Morning breakfast was delicious. Right on the beach with plunge pool.

The beach is quite rocky by the hotel and you really can’t swim but we were still about to dip in the water and the tide pooling was fun.

The property delivered exactly what I was looking for. I wanted a cozy little spot, small and boutique, right on the ocean and that is what Sueño Del Mar is. My teenage daughter and I came and stayed for a week and we were delighted with it. Eduardo and staff were amazingly helpful, friendly, and accommodating. The three-course breakfast was absolutely delicious. The best way to start the day is grab your cup of coffee and sit on the lounge chairs overlooking the ocean. We saw howler monkeys swinging in the trees and iguanas roaming the property. It was a very Costa Rican vibe and I highly recommend a stay.

The best breakfast I’ve ever had! There were three courses, all home made and delicious! Our room was beautiful and clean plus the beds were super comfortable! Would 1000% stay again :)

Anemic air conditioning and ants, although to be fair I’m not sure how they could mitigate the ants.

Beautiful property, reminiscent of an old mission. Quiet location in Tamarindo.

Wish I could have stayed longer... Couldn't really find anything to complain about at SDM! I do wish there were more rock-free swim access zones right near the hotel, but the drama, the tide-driven, ever-changing reconfiguration of the beach is more than adequate recompense, to my mind.

This mini-hotel on the sand and rock beach looks as though it were built long ago by the same artisanal tradition that built the chain of Jesuit missions through Central and N America: thick, fireproof adobe with arched windows, doorways and hallways, high ceilings, lots of dark wooden shutters and doors with wrought iron fittings, Terra Cotta tile floors, funny and interesting porticos, alcoves and display nooks, and colorful bas-relief jungle motif half-walls in the baths, as well as delightful private "outdoor" shower space attached to each washroom. Manager/owner, staff friendly and dedicated to Pura Vida for each day and each guest. Delight awaits in the outdoor facilities, with lush vegetation, occ'l iguanas, birdsong and monkeys in the treetops surrounding the poolside zone, with private little chaises of imaginative design and several grass hut shade retreats sheltering a bed, or a dining/gaming table for 4, or grab mask and towel and head for the surf just a few steps from your door. You are walking distance from 5 or 6 restaurants of quality, and a short cab ride gets you to "downtown" if you wish.

Beyond my expectations, liked everything about it

We stayed in Osita room, loved that it had one and a half bathrooms, king bed in the loft, AC, comfortable outdoor seating area under covered patio and adjacent outdoor bathroom with awesome hot shower. Hotel was right on the beach, it was very quaint and perfect for relaxing. It was close enough ride to busy Tamarindo for awesome nightlife. Our host Eduardo was above and beyond accommodating, breakfast was amazing and only regret was not staying there longer. There was no TV at the hotel, which made you completely relax and grab a book. Beach area was setup with hammock, lounge chairs and couples cabanas. Seen lots of wildlife while at the property ( holler monkeys, iguanas, squirrels, all kinds of birds), also greeted by small snake near our room door.

The property is beautiful and very well maintained. The staff was incredibly friendly and helpful for anything we needed. It is also in a much quieter area than the main strip of Tamarindo, a huge plus for us. Our room was wonderful, spacious, and clean. The beach part of the property was beautifully landscaped and a nice, peaceful place to rest for any downtime. Breakfast was excellent and a good way to start a day of adventure off full of energy. They even packed us to go breakfasts on the days we needed to head out super early for excursions. Overall, a wonderful property.

Nearly nothing, we had no complains, no problems, it was a very easy 2 nights stay within Tamarindo area.

A very nice hotel about 2km far from the Tamarindo town centre, within its quiet part. Its location is really CLOSE to the beach. We stayed there 2 nights. We had a perfect breakfast there. We liked the hotel itself, its a bit "rustic" style. Everything as presented. Communication with Susana was perfect (dinning tips, advices, ...).

    Nothing, we loved it all!!

Our family LOVED the daily breakfast!! It was outstanding!! And the staff couldn't have been more accomodating with our special requests such as gluten free breakfasts for our daughter. Eduardo and Sol, were the most gracious, warm, and friendly hosts. They really made us feel relaxed and comfortable, making our stay most enjoyable!! Additionally, the place itself was a paradise, with an incredible view of the sea and most relaxing lounge chairs and beds to sunbathe or read in the shade. It was hard to leave the premises as we loved the property so much!! There were monkeys in the trees and iguanas all around, and the sunsets were spectacular, not to be missed!!

Where the property is located, there are a lot of rocks in the ocean, so many that you truly can’t go swim at any hour. You have to time it right when it’s really high tide.

5 minute drive to Tamarindo, could have walked there if we wanted too! Yet still felt very private and not as touristy. The beach access is incredible. Each casita/cottage style room was spacious and felt like home away from home.

My only complaint would be the lack of personal fridges so if you wanted something cold you had to buy from their honor bar which was still really nice

The breakfast was incredible. I am gluten free and they were able to accommodate. They cleaned our rooms everyday there was always fresh towels available and ample space to relax. The property was beautiful ocean front, we saw so many wildlife including howler monkies and iguanas! And were able to unwind completely from life

It’s right on the beach. The breakfasts were superb. Staff were all friendly and helpful. Rooms were clean and comfortable. Honesty bar was a great idea and very handy for grabbing a cold drink. There wasn’t a single thing to dislike! Our only regret was not being able to stay longer.

A beautiful, relaxing, and very unique property that exceeded all expectations. The rooms were extremely comfortable and well-decorated, the facilities (pool, beach, hallways, landscaping) are all perfectly maintained, and the staff and hosts were so friendly and helpful. Breakfast was GREAT! The location is also great— very private and luxurious but a quick walk to downtown Tamarindo for partying, shopping, and dining. Our room was the Misha, and it’s perfect for a girls’ trip or a family trip.
