The property is in a terrific location- it' extreelyclean- the staff are friendly and accomodating and treat the guests with utmost care- its like being a guest in a friend's home. The breakfast was very tasty.

Our home in San José! For our third stay at Posada el Quijote, we were treated to a wonderful surprise — an upgrade to a stunning suite. The kids were absolutely thrilled, and we enjoyed a fantastic evening before drifting off to sleep in the most comfortable beds. The staff are attentive, the breakfasts delicious, and the gardens and views simply breathtaking. For us, there’s no doubt: Posada el Quijote is the place to stay in San José. We’re already planning our next visit, this time with our extended family!"

Location is quiet and safe. Staffs are very kind, helpful and reliable.

Driving to the hotel is a bit hard. A huge hill to drive up. But once you get there it’ll be worth every penny and the stress. Don’t let this discourage your booking bc you don’t want to miss out on this hotel .

Good place to start or end your trip through Costa Rica. Far away from the city and noise but approachable easily by uber. Beautiful view over the skyline and a nice pool. Cute cats around. It has everything you need and nice details. You really feel cared for. Would come back anytime.

Our whole family truly enjoyed our stay at Posada el Quijote — from the beautiful gardens and the breathtaking view over the city, to the stunning view from our room and the delicious breakfast. This was our second stay here, and I believe Posada el Quijote is well on its way to becoming a tradition for our visits to San José. Highly recommended!

The only thing to note is that there are no restaurants within walking distance. However, Uber Eats works very well here, and enjoying a meal with the stunning city view is actually a real treat.

Just a heads-up: the property can be a little tricky to find, at least when using Google Maps.

The house has an awesome view and beautiful design—both inside and out. The neighborhood was peaceful, and we especially loved the friendly local cats that would occasionally wander by. The hosts were very accommodating and thoughtful, even providing a blue towel specifically for dirty clothes and shoes.

The bedroom was comfortable, although the ceiling fan was a bit wonky. The bathroom was a decent size, but the shower area could use better lighting. There was also a bit of a lack in countertop space and electrical outlets, which made it a little less convenient.

Beautiful property. Hosts very kind and accommodating to anything we needed. Delicious breakfast. Private parking.

No restaurants nearby. Must drive to dinner. 45 min from the airport.

Really enjoyed the view and the very hands-on owner always checking in with the guests and giving us valuable insights into areas of interest in Costa Rica.

Don’t rent a Toyota Fortuner and expect easy parking/maneuvering around the old driveway…very tricky, but the owner helped a lot!

When I went to check in the hotel was in a bad part of town and locked behind a large metal compound looking gate. The area was overgrown with vegetation. Attempted to contact the facility and received no response. Very sketchy. Do not book.

The pool is cold but the spectacular view makes up for it.

The view was great and the neighborhood felt safe. The staff was very accommodating and friendly. I would recommend this place to any family.
