Property, in general, does not seem to be well maintained. Room was fine.

Fantastic location! Clean room. There is a shared kitchen, which we didn't use, but it looked clean and adequately equiped. The building and grounds need some attention, but for the price it was fine.

Great location just off the beach and the main Street of Tortuguero. Nice to have air conditioning and access to fridge, kettle etc in kitchen, bed comfortable. Staff were great, very welcoming and informative

The accomadation and reception are on opposite ends of the town. The place is not being maintained, outside area could be amazing . It's a bit rundown.

The outside space could have been so much nicer. A prime spot in the beach just not being made the most of...a few more comfortable chairs and tables, a hit of gardening and a lick of paint would made all the difference. Overall the property is very tired.

The common areas could be cleaner and you need to walk a bit from the reception to the house, as they are not in the same building, I would say they are around 300-500m away. Part of the path is not concrete so it’s not really friendly with wheely luggage. My recomendation if you go is to select some backpack or not wheeled suitcase.

Really well located and clean (considering it’s in the middle of the rainforest). The staff is really nice and you are in front of the beach, which is really good.

Nothing. The room was basic but clean, comfortable and cool which was all we needed.

We really enjoyed our stay at the beach house. The location is fantastic, right by the beach but also only close by Tortuguero's main street with its shops, cafes and restaurants. When we arrived into Tortuguero by boat we were dropped off at Tortuguero Adventures reception, where Emanuel welcomed us and then showed us to our accommodation which was a short walk away. He was incredibly helpful (even on the following day when it was his day off) in recommending tours and places to eat, and in helping us book a boat transfer to the airstrip. We also loved his very friendly dog! It was very hot and humid in Tortuguero so the air conditioning in the room was very welcome. We had a family room which had a double bed and two bunk beds, and we arranged to have laundry done during our stay at a very reasonable price.

The beach was in front of the property, and was able to take a warm shower without worrying about ruining out of hot water.

I loved the location right on the beach yet still central to the town. The hammocks were perfect for relaxing to the sound of the sea. The kitchen facilities were great for enabling some budget food options.

Room wasn't what we expected but we made due and the bunk bed mattresses need to be changed as you could feel the boards supporting the mattresses. Shower wasn't working well and we were without water for a few hours one day.

Loved being on the beach directly and so close to the main strip. Housekeeper was friendly and provided us with what we needed always (towels, clean sheets, etc.).

Slightly too noisy due to neighbouring properties and cleaners daughter on her iPad outside of the room each day. No hot water which wasn’t too much of a problem but when the rain and wind picked up it would have been nice to have had some hot water for a shower, especially as we stayed four days.

Location, cleanliness, view, kitchen, bed and air con were great. The people we met and the hosts and the kayak and canal tour was amazing. We also had a sloth right outside the room for two days. Great access to the beach and a proper backpacker vibe with a great feel to it and good chilling out and story sharing space

No bad things to say, really !

Amazing location right in front of the beach, charming and very clean. We were welcomed by an incredible staff who went above and beyond to make sure our stay was a perfect experience. Manuel was not only great advice, but the tours we managed to book thanks to him were exceptional. Special mention to the nice cleaning lady who is also more than professional. The room was very nice, the little terrasse in front of the beach is lovely, and the kitchen is quite enough to be able to cook properly ! We were extremely happy with our stay and would happily come back again.

location was ideal. Loved the shaded outdoor space w/ hammocks. Enjoyed watching sloths one evening. The room was quite small but beds were comfortable. Hooks on wall and more shelving/ storage would help. Was only given 2 towels for 3 people and took a while to get an additional. Other than this all was good and enjoyed our stay here.

Our room had a sewage/poo kind of smell which most likely comes from plumbing or toilets. It was a lil bit sticky/icky but I guess this is normal for these beach huts near very salty air (I had similar vibes in Kauai hostels).

The location is the best part of this hostel. Right by the beach the hammocks make it super chill to read a book early morning whilst the beach is still empty. You look out to the waves and it's super relaxing. The staff at the main shop are also really friendly with a cute dog. He got our tours booked - no hassle.
