It was a fantastic rustic lodge, with unmatched views of the Arenal area. If you have the pleasure of staying in lodge 6 and are an animal lover, please keep on treating the little black cat well. We named her Totope, and she will quite literally be an extra guest.

The shower is not always warm, it depends on the time of the day. Although the location is beautiful, the way to get there is bumpy and a good car is needed.

We stayed at Hotel Nepenthe for three nights and it was really great. The staff is very helpful and friendly and the view is amazing. If it is not cloudy, you can s ee Arenal and you get beautiful sunsets. The rooms are small and basic, but definitely enough. We were able to do two bags of laundry for 6$. The restaurant is great as well with extremely friendly staff.

Some of the window screens had holes in so we didn’t want to open these windows. There were still plenty of windows with undamaged screens which we could open though.

We loved the peaceful location. There was lots of wildlife on the property, birds, roads and giant butterflies were a highlight. The view of the lake was incredible and the pool was great. Rooms were spacious and we loved the covered patio at the back

We loved the location and the views from our room overseeing the Arenal lake and the volcano. Very good restaurant onsite and the infinity pool overlooking the green mountains was exceptional. Definitely would come back if we are ever in the area.

The host was very understandable about a situation that we had and helped us, overall is one of the most relaxing and quiet places in front of the laguna del arenal, 10/10 recommended, entrance can be a little rough but any car can enter

Location is amazing! Perfect to get away from busy (and kind of uggly) La Fortuna, while still being close to the Arenal Volcano park entrance. Rooms are not fancy but comfortable, and the views, garden and swimming pool more than make up for it. There is a restaurant (and even massage place) on site so you don’t always need to take your car in the evening for dinner if you don’t feel like it. Best to have at least SUV to get there.

Location near park was beautiful and quiet. We had a car. Butterfly sanctuary nearby is good. Excellent bird and monkeys can be see in trees o. The property. Food at their restaurants is reliable.

Exceptional value in an incredible setting. The view was phenomenal, the staff was attentive & upbeat, and the free breakfast was plentiful & delicious. The road trip up the hill bumpy and yet quite navigable was worth every effort to arrive in what was one of the finest views we've ever seen (the huge lake and nearby volcano made dramatic). Highly recommend Nepenthe!

It is a beautiful place but unfortunately we were there with rain and big wind so no electricity for a few hours obviously not their fault but for the price and place you would think that they would have a back up with generator! We still had a nice dinner with Gordon the owner and the staff were great ! Candle light dinner :) the electricity came back during the night . I am sure with a sunny and hot day that place would be perfect.

I imagine that The road is a bit difficult to drive on, if you don’t have a big four wheel drive car, but when you get up there, it’s worth the drive!

The staff went out of their way to help us, when we got delayed due to a delayed flight. The rooms are clean and nice, and the small restaurant below the hotel are a great little treasure with the kindest people ❤️

Location was as expected: beautiful! You feel like in paradise, waking up with hummingbirds in your front door garden and looking over the lake and the volcano. Breakfast is good and the restaurant for this and dinner is really lovely and quiet, still overlooking that beautiful scenary.

No hot tub (which we had seen as a definite bonus for our trip). Breakfast and restaurant was wonderful but otherwise food not very good (pizza was terrible). Food at El Castillo (bottom of the hill) was wonderful!

This place was awesome. we had our own cabin style room with kithcen, dining area, spacious restroom, bath area. It was such a great place. I liked the floor to ceiling glass windows in the living room. Gave a generous view of the lake. Would highly recommend to anyone. I wish I could stay longer here and chill.
