It's a great location in the jungle with a huge terrace from which you can see the animals and birds in their natural environment. We enjoyed it very much.

The pool is being completed on the property so we heard minimal construction noise. It didn't bother us much as we were going to the ocean.

We had a wonderful time at Maze Lodge in the middle of the jungle! Sure the road is a little bumpy but nothing a 4x4 car (we had a Suzuki Jimny) can't handle...a little adventure ride for free :) We want to thank our hosts Frida and Alexander so much for hospitality and their support! We had a great time and a big experience! All the best for your Maze Lodge!

Maze Lodge manages to achieve a very authentic, secluded feel whilst also providing all the comforts needed to make a jungle stay more enjoyable (very good AC, running water, wifi, electricity). Alex and Frida were extremely welcoming and were always on hand to assist and even helped with some wildlife spotting - it genuinely felt more like staying in someone’s guest house than a hotel. Despite being relatively close to Puerto Jimenez, it does feel as if you are staying in the middle of the jungle, being awoken by howler monkeys and seeing toucans directly off the balcony. Their recommended Corcovado guide Louis was fantastic and I would recommend booking tours through Maze Lodge. There is a big supermarket in Puerto Jimenez where you can stock up supplies as the Lodge offers excellent cooking options - including a grill on the very scenic deck. I’m excited to see how the pool comes along!

We loved everything about the lodge - a bit of an adventure getting there but well worth it!

    - beautiful little lodges with privacy and a great view into the trees - great for birdwatching ( we saw toucans, hummingbirds close by etc.) - a telescope on the terrace ( unfortunately we couldn’t use it because of a rainy night) - Frida the host was very helpful and open and tried to solve every question / problem - in the future there will be a great swimming pool to share for the 3 lodges ( now still in the making)

    - you can ONLY get with a 4x4 to the location ! (we got the information after we booked it, luckily Frida and Alex offered to get us with their car from Puerto Jimenez (20-25 min ride) ) - there are no big towels - there were a lot of little insects (maybe passing the mosquito net because they are so small and we had light inside), but they are harmless - only cold water showers - the kitchen could have a little bit more stuff to cook since there is no way to eat out around close by ( Puerto Jimenez 20 min with a 4x4) ( maybe a big bowl, a scissor, a cutting board, salt and pepper would be nice) - communication was in the beginning not the best because we texted them multiple times without an answer ( after two days we found out communication via what’s app was easiest with them instead of mail)

An exceptional place to stay, with nature and abundant beauty all around you. The rooms, with views of rain forest, the stars in the night makes for a wonderful experience. If you ask nicely,Alex may take you on a hike of their land.

Amazing 2 BR house in the middle of the jungle! Clean, spacious, everything we needed. We really enjoyed our time in there. Cooked dinner outside on the patio and spent the evening watching the stars and listening to the sounds from the jungle. Saw monkeys and birds from the patio. Total relaxation. The owner of the place, Alexander, took good care of us. We could also book a guide to our Corcovado tour through him. Would highly recommend!!!

It is a very nice place to stay. We saw many monkeys, tucan’s and other animals from our terrace. Alex and Mads were very nice and helpful. We did a small jungle hike with them.

The journey to get there was a bit bumpy, but trust us - it’s absolutely worth it! The property itself is breathtaking, with a beautiful trek that winds through lush greenery. This trail leads to a magnificent old oak tree and a river—an idyllic spot for nature lovers. We stayed in the Tunas Lodge, and let me tell you, the name is perfect. Toucans are everywhere and their favorite hangout spot is right above the bungalow. Watching these vibrant birds so up close was pure magic. The lodge is beautifully designed. One of the highlights was waking up to the sounds of nature and stepping onto the balcony to witness all four species of monkeys casually jumping from tree to tree. The owners are incredibly nice and always ready to help. What truly stands out about Maze Lodge is the owners’ commitment to sustainability. They work with local providers, ensuring that the lodge supports the community and minimizes its environmental footprint. Our stay was short, but we’re already looking forward to returning. Maze Lodge is a true hidden gem for anyone seeking a magical and eco-friendly escape in the heart of the Osa Peninsula.

    Our stay was to short!
