The smell of skunk at night. Not sure what made the smell but it was very strong and lasted a long time.

Love the location, the pool is nice and we appreciated the outdoor kitchen by the pool for preparing breakfast. Nice balcony sitting area as well.

I wish they had breakfast included for the price we paid per night. Tamarindo is very expensive overall, specially for locals.

Very friendly staff and pet friendly hotel! The location is great, the beach is literally walking distance in front of the hotel. There are many restaurant options around and the pool was amazing!

It's not that big of a deal to me but the bathroom was really small. And there was no bathroom by the pool. It would have been nice to use a pool bathroom inside of our own for while we were swimming to keep our room floor from getting so wet.

A lot! This hotel is great. We stayed in the premium double room, I think? It goes right out to the pool and was so convenient not to have to use stairs with three little ones (this hotel is very kid friendly too!) The rooms are spacious and clean. The beds are very comfy. It was nice to have a little porch area to dry clothes and sit outside. There is a cooking area. The pool is gorgeous and everything seems really chill and secluded from the city. The beach is right across the street and there's an open shower by the pool to wash off sand before going back to the room. And all the restaurants that we went to were less than a five minute walk.

I loved the outdoor kitchen, though I wished for more amenities & structure there ( plates, cutlery, no oil, salt, pepper, no basics for cooking, really old cookware, etc). In general the outdoor is very well maintained, the indoors has gotten into the years & could use some replacement here and there. No hair dryer.

The staff is friendly, accommodating, the rooms have a decent size, comfy bed, the pool is great! For the price, a really good option.

The room was OK but furniture was dated and general impression was not very pleasant. Definitely needs some renovation for a better feeling. Also, the obligation to wear a wrist band for the entire three days of my stay was very annoying. I had never experienced this king of requirement at any other hotel.

Excellent location right at the central area of Tamarindo, a very short distance to the beach.

My experience was great with the female receptionist at check in; until I dealt with the male receptionist... I got a room for me and my mother with 1 double bed and a twin bed, so I asked him how much more I had to pay for an additional person. He had no right to respond to me the way he did. He got up from his chair in a face-off manner and said, "IT IS ABSOLUTELY PROHIBITED TO DO THAT!!!, YOU'LL BE KICKED OUT IF YOU DO THAT!* threateningly. I said I'm sorry, I'm just asking a question, and there is no need to respond this way. I asked because the room has one double need and one single bed*. He just said, "YES, BUT THAT'S IMPOSSIBLE. IT'S PROHIBITED.* I said, "ok, that's enough, just give me another room, and additional room, and let's be done with this*. He said, "really? WELL THAT'S $120 For the room. I said ok, weird that it's more than what I paid for mine; but whatever, my cousin was already on her way. I didn't cancel just because it was non refundable. Besides that, the common grounds were well-kept. The rooms are outdated, but ok for 1 night, the beds need to be updated, or at least the mattresses it is very loud, so maybe update the windows to double-pane. The location is great, it is across the street from the beach, next to many bars, shops and restaurants.

The staff was the best part of our stay, so helpful and friendly you felt like family. The property was on the Main Street directly across from the beach so a great spot with lots of restaurants etc. near by. It was very quiet and the pool was lovely. I highly recommend staying there.

Perfect location, right in city centre, across de street from the beach & all the restaurants & bars. Beautiful decorated rooms, big terrace with great views over the swimming pool. Lovely staff.

Some street noise, but that can’t be helped because it is in the middle of everything! Coffee maker in the room, but no coffee provided. Shampoo and body wash not labeled and no beach or pool towels provided.

The location is amazing and the staff were so friendly and kind. The rooms have great balconies with seating. The pool was clean and there was a great area for preparing food. Beds were very comfortable.

There was a coffee maker, microwave and fridge but they were packed in a corner with no shelving or anywhere to put stuff. A couple of shelves would have been nice. Also having coffee in the lobby would be nice.

The two small things that could have been improved, is a bedside table or even a shelf above the bed. There is enough room to move the bed from the wall and put a 6”shelf/ headboard type thing behind. The other small thing is coffee packets. There is a coffee maker with no coffee.

We were upgraded to a king bed which was great because that’s what we are used to. The pool was clean and refreshing. The location is excellent and any noise at night was drowned out by shutting bathroom door which has louvered windows and having the AC on. Right across from the path to the beach, my favourite stores and the waffle monkey where we had breakfast on the beach daily. You can walk anywhere in town from here.
