The mosquitos. I believe I had 9 bites in one day. I was wearing bug spray but I needed more protection especially at night.

The staff were a little cold at check in as well as the restaurants. The facility is beautiful if your main desire is to sit by the pool. I didn’t love the beach and it’s kind of a remote location. I’m glad we only stayed two nights, as it was kind of boring. They offer a lot of activities, but you have to scan a barcode to see what they are. Our barcode also did not work. It lacked a lot of personal touches you would expect. I also didn’t find the property to be a good value. It was expensive and the added things included in the resort fee were not well explained or easily accessible. I wouldn’t stay here again or recommend to others.

We booked two rooms one for us and one for my parents. Communication with the property was extremely challenging. My parents room was non refundable, however, ours was fully available for cancellation. I emailed the property several times to try to change our room with no success, because my parents had an emergency and had to cancel their trip. At check in, the gentleman was able to move us to two connecting rooms instead.

Some of the staff weren’t very friendly. At check in, they don’t go over all of the things available on the property to do. Instead, they give you a barcode to scan, which didn’t work. The beach is not pretty here, so I wouldn’t recommend it for fun beach days. The water is brown looking with black sand.

The property was beautiful. It had a very nice pool and several restaurants on site. We used the swim up bar a lot. If you just want to lay by the pool and eat/drink, then you might enjoy this resort. We stayed at 3 different properties during our trip and this was our least favorite and most expensive.

Would be nice to have sun beds on the beach itself. Otherwise the property is great. Also, I personally didn’t like the food there - out of all the restaurant I preferred the one near the lobby, breakfast and the restaurant near the pool wasn’t very tasty in my opinion.

I loved that the property was so well looked after, very green, lovely swimming pool, I also used the gym (there is a hot tub, sauna and steam room in the female changing room - which was great). I appreciated how friendly everyone was - genuinely makes the difference and makes you feel welcomed. They have a playground and a kids play room indoors - you have to sit there and watch your child, so not a classic “drop your kid and enjoy your cocktail” scenario, but my 2 yo loved it and so did I. We stayed in room 203 - the view was gorgeous.

The selection and quality of food at the restaurant was ok but we looked for a bit of a fine dining experience. This we didn't find. Would be the only thing the hotel could improve as food selection was very American.

This was a fantastic hotel for my trip with my little daughter. The hotel is huge and the pools, offerings and beach were amazing for us. For my daughter and me it was a wonderful time we spent here. The enjoyed the beautiful sunsets at the beach or on our balcony. The staff was very professional and kind.

The Hotel was really nice. The rooms, the facilities, the pools, amenities, everything was nice, what you would expect from a regular resort. The service was ok, it has been better an other places I have stayed in Costa Rica, but again , this is what you would expect from a resort. The food at the restaurant was very Americanized… I honestly would recommend you to drive to Jaco and go a plethora of better restaurants with more affordable and authentic food( which is what we ended up doing after being disappointed with the food the first day). Overall it was a nice stay, would I come back? No Would I recommend my friends and family to stay here? No

I recently spent a holiday in Costa Rica, staying at this hotel. While the country is undeniably stunning in terms of its natural beauty, I must admit that it presents some challenges for tourists. Firstly, prices in tourist areas are extremely high, comparable to those in Manhattan. Moreover, the sense of security in the country is not the best, to the point that many locals who can afford it drive around in armored vehicles. For this reason, if you're traveling to Costa Rica, you may feel compelled to stick to tourist areas. The infrastructure in Costa Rica is lacking, with poor quality roads and often heavy traffic. The hotel itself is reachable after a two-hour journey on rough roads from the capital's airport. The hotel offers a high level of security and quality of services, but at very steep prices. The adjacent beach has warm but consistently choppy water, with black sand that makes the water murky and muddy, limiting visibility. The climate is characterized by stifling heat and perennial humidity, which often forced me to spend a lot of time in the room with the air conditioning on full blast. Despite these negative aspects, the trip was still beautiful for those who, like me, love nature. The hotel is surrounded by fascinating wildlife, with birds, squirrels, and iguanas roaming freely. In conclusion, I recommend this hotel and Costa Rica in general to those who are willing to tolerate some inconveniences in exchange for a unique experience in contact with unspoiled and spectacular nature. However, it's good to be aware of the high prices and the country's criticalities before undertaking the journey.

The wait was a bit longer than expected at the restaurants. Games and books helped my kids. Super short walk to the marina. Lots of fun activities close to the resort and lots of help to arrange it. The zip lining and rain forest tour were worth it!

The resort didn't have any lounge chairs at the beach. The water is murky, and there are apparently crocodiles in the ocean, coming from the river inlets. The beach was not usable. Some of the staff can be a bit short and less than enthusiastic about their jobs. Others are very nice. For the price of the resort, there should be better staff training.

Overall a beautiful resort. You can see macaws flying overhead on a daily basis. The golf course has lots of wildlife as well. We saw many tropical birds, Iguanas and a Capuchin monkey.

The ocean waves are minimal, so you need to visit a different beach if you’re looking to body surf, etc.

Great selection of restaurants serving excellent food. The staff is very friendly! Tons of great options for teens to stay busy. Excellent spot to charter a fishing trip. It was very clean and safe.

The staff was very attentive; friendly; and was eager to make our experience as positive as possible. The on-site bars and restaurant were great for breakfast and lunch. The chef prepared our fresh catch as an amazing appetizer for our group...an excellent experience.
