The pool was nice. Having AC helped.

    Too far from the center.

Lovely staff, who communicated really well with us in advance of our arrival and sent someone to meet us from the boat and walk us to the hotel. We arranged a kayak tour in advance through the hotel and they answered our questions about the ferry across so we knew what to expect. The room was comfortable but basic, but good for the price. It just could have done with somewhere to hang our towels / swim wear. The pool was lovely to relax in.

Very basic hotel room, good beds, no hot shower, very friendly staff, our kids loved the pool and the pancakes for breakfast. We went on 2 tours arranged by the hotel and they were great! On the other hand, outside our window a rooster was screaming for hours which started before 5 am, there was welding at night right next to the hotel, a tied up dog barking all day, extremely loud music at times. They wrote me that the hotel offered lunch and dinner which was important to us since I have trouble walking far due to arthritis so that was a big problem/disappointment! There was no bath although the ad said 'the room features a bathroom boasting a bath' which we counted on for soaking and washing some clothes so that was also problematic. Therefore, 1 star for the staff, 1 star for the tours "Canoe Tour" and "Night Walk", and 1 star for the pool.

Authenticity, easy access from the center of town. The kindness of the staff.

The bedroom door was difficult to open, because it' s in wood and with the humidity the system is blocking most of the time.

The staff was awesome. Very nice and friendly, always available and happy with a smile. They really made sure that everything is very clean. The pool was cleaned every morning and this was perfect for us and the kids. Breakfast was always good and enough. The room had a roof and 3 beds + bathroom with warm water. Thats it. Everything was well secured against Mosquitos which was nice. Wlan was good and stable.

It had a pool which was decent until it got occupied by a noisy party with a cooler full of beer and whiskey which they decided to consume while sitting on the stairs to the pool.

No glass on the windows which is very unfortunate if you share the facilities with selfish people that shout outside your door until midnight. Staff leaves at 7pm. No aircon, only a very loud rotating fan on the sealing. No shampoo only a small bar of soap. Breakfast is a choice of 3 usual kinds and 1! drink only.

They had agents to meet us at the parking lot in La Pavona and at the dock in Tortuguero. All the staff were very nice, and the breakfast food was decent. It's about three blocks walk to the beach. The waves are rough, but you can wade or body-surf as long as you don't go too far out.

As my wife put it, this place is "one step above camping." It's really more of a hostel than a hotel. Our room (#11) had three beds (we only needed two) that filled most of the room, and the furniture was skimpy and plain (and no TV). The bathroom was small and the shower was open with only a curtain--no tub or glass door. The pool water was green--my granddaughter didn't want to get in it. The location is 5-7 minutes walk from the center of town in an area with rather run-down houses, and it's hard to find your way back and forth due to all the twists and turns (and not enough lights at night). We were there in the rainy season (mid-July), so nothing would dry--everything was damp the whole time. The electricity went out the second night and stayed out until we left, but that wasn't their fault. All in all, an unpleasant experience.

Clean pool that is good for cooling off after all the activities. Good breakfast with either typical or american styles.

Is at the edge of town but town is small. No AC, just ceiling fan.

We loved this place, location is perfect close to the tortuguero national park and quiet at the same time. The hotel is awesome and the guys who work there are really informative and professional. We also had a chance to see a monkey right on the tree in front of our room. Really recommended

The location is nice as it's close to the beach and national park so you can hear all the wild life. Staff were friendly and the breakfast was ok. The size of the room was also good and overall it was a simple but nice place.

You can definitely get better breakfast and coffee in the village so you might want to consider booking without breakfast as it's quite expensive for what you get. Be prepared that there is no Aircon so the room can get extremely hot.

Nice place to relax; great swimming pool, clean room, powerful fan, good location away from Tortuguero's town center. We could even spot the green macaw from the pool

Would recommend to book your tours with a different organization
