Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

PanamaWhen we arrived, we were given a different room than what we had reserved. Everything worked out fine, but it would have been nice to know about that ahead of time.
We were there for an athletic competition so we were looking for someplace that was secure, peaceful and very quiet at night and within walking distance of a lot of restaurants. La Posada was just the right match.

United StatesCould have been cleaner and refreshed painting
Wonderful location right in front of the entrance to Manuel Antonio National Park. The area was lively and walkable to many restaurants. The area quieted down after the park closed which was nice. A short walk to the beach, although the best beach is inside MA NP. Breakfast was nice with a few options to choose from and made to order, so breakfast took at least 30mins (no buffet style). Overall property was small and quaint which worked for our needs. We stayed in a suite (2 story with bedrooms upstairs) which fit our family of 5 just fine. Could use some updating and refinishing but it was fine for what we needed and good value compared to other accommodations in the area. The pool was nice and the hammock outside our suite was loved by the kids. The daily monkey and lizard visits were awesome!

United KingdomThe communal areas including the pool area are a bit tired and need a clean. The breakfast was not good. We ended up eating elsewhere despite paying for breakfast. House cleaning not daily.
Excellent location - right next door to the national park and beach. Ronnie was very helpful and friendly. The room was very spacious.

United StatesThe garbage cans near the common area bathroom and the bathroom itself should have been much cleaner.
The breakfast options were delicious. There was a nice pool area although we were too busy to use it. We were able to walk to the Manuel Antonio National Park. Dinner options, shopping, and the beach were all within an easy walk.

CanadaParking is not included in this hotel as is stated in Booking.com. We had a rental car, so paid the $10 parking fee to park in one of the vendor’s yard, which is actually next to the alley with free parking. We thought it better to have someone watch it.
The proximity to the Manuel Antonio park!! Just watch out there is a jungle hotel 1 km outside of park. Also don’t stop for the park guide hustlers as you enter the area. The hotel is literally 100m outside the park. We also saw more wildlife there than in the park 🤣

United StatesThis was a great place to stay when you go to Manuel Antonio National Park. We had a near perfect stay. The only suggestion we would make would be to install grab bars in the showers for those of us with balance issues.
We wanted to stay near Manuel Antonio National Park and were surprised to find the hotel less than 100 feet from the entrance to the Park. The staff was very helpful and accomodating. Pedro at the front desk told us that our Australian cousins had been asking for us so we were able to have an impromptu reunion with family from two continents while getting an upgrade to our room. Thank you, Pedro! The room was on two levels, very clean, and more than enough for us. Breakfast was great and we were entertained by the capuchin monkeys who helped clear plates when other guests left. We also saw iguanas and birds roaming around. Close proximity to the Park was a real plus and we were able to meet our guide just outside the Park. We also enjoyed lunch at the small pizza place next to the hotel run by a woman who spends half the year in Costa Rica and half in Sicily. Many thanks for the only dark beer we found in Costa Rica! If the heat is an issue, they may have the misting machine working to cool you off. Many thanks to Damien and Damien Junior at the front desk who helped us arrange a driver to our next location. Special thanks to Carlos, who ran off with my cellphone to get a picture of a toucan (no simple task) and returned with some great pictures.

United StatesThe bathroom shower drain was partially detached and dangerous. I cut my foot on it. A better set up for unpacking would have been nice. Maybe more open shelves. Also.... and this is more for all of the hotels in Costa Rica.... for a country that doesn't flush toilet paper, I'm very surprised that bidets aren't a thing here.
Location and staff were amazing! Can't beat being literal steps from the park. The staff was happy and friendly. Thank you Rony for the great local tips

United StatesThe pool was not clean for swimming, and there was a bad smell from the downstairs banos near the breakfast area. It was fine for us, but the front was being remodeled, so don't let the entrance make you nervous.
Excellent location. Literally steps from the park, 5 minutes from a gorgeous beach, next to a mini Mart and near restaurants. We saw almost as many animals from our terrace as the park!

United StatesLa Posada Jungle Hotel sits within feet of the entrance to Manual Antonio Park. Its staff was friendly and helpful. The rooms are clean and comfortable and the beds were extremely comfortable. Parking is available for $10 per day down an alley that’s located in front of the hotel and just a short walk from the hotel (make sure to drop off your luggage at the hotel first, because the alley is not paved and is rough).

United StatesThe furnishings were very dated, sofas were old and uncomfortable. Water pressure in the showers sometimes stopped the flow of water and when we told the staff, they said it was due to the water pump being unable to cope with the demand- nothing could be done. Only 2 wine glasses and one water glass provided in an apartment that could sleep 5, we were told they couldn't give us any more. It was more expensive than anywhere else we stayed, probably due to the location. There was a bar area at the front of the hotel which was no longer in use.
Location is excellent- it is right by the entrance to the park, and a short walk from the beach. Breakfast was good and the pool area and surroundings were very pretty. We had a lot of space in the apartment, more than in any other place we stayed. Full size fridge and cooker, but few other supplies.

United KingdomThe property was behind a pizza restaurant which was a little off putting initially but it was a little oasis c when you walked around. Sadly there was no parking at the property and we weren’t told about this until after we had booked. We had to pay $20 to park which made the hotel a little more expensive than expected. It was also difficult to get the car out of the car park as the queue for the nationalPark was all along the road where we had to drive. Fortunately 2 local people helped move the crowd so we could squeeze past. We had booked a suite and told we had been upgraded to the monkey room round the back of the hotel away from the pool. There was a seating area outside our apartment but this overlooked the national park toilets. Not very pleasant so had to walk round and sit by the pool . No privacy. All the people who were in the main block had seating which overlooked the pool. They all had lovely clean yellow pool towels . We had two old faded ones with marks on. The monkey room was big -3 beds but only 2 of us and it seemed a little tired. We felt like second class citizens having booked a suit.
The location to the national park. Right outside. Animals came in and wandered around when we were by the pool. The pool was nice if a little cold. The breakfast was good. Waiting staff very friendly.
