The breakfast is amazing, everyday is a new breakfast, served like in a restaurant. It tastes amazing and is of course cooked by Toñi and Jessica. It often includes fresh fruits salad, a bigger plate with salty delicious things, and finally a pastry. You're definitely ready for a good day around Puerto Viejo. The rooms are big, there is a lot of space around, you're in the middle of the jungle and will definitely see some sloths, monkeys and birds. I would 100% go back in this place. Muchas gracias!

$8 uber ride from town - fine if you wanted to hire bikes! But not central.

Great breakfasts & helpful staff. Very friendly & laidback. Loved spending evenings on the verandah listening to jungle sounds!

Our spacious room and terrace felt like right in the jungle among animals shouting and chirping. A unique experience. We had a big fridge and were welcome to use the kitchen, so we could have coffee and buy and try local produce. Should have brought stronger mosquito repellent.

Large, clean rooms with plenty of space for a family of five. They were pet friendly which was great. We had a large balcony overlooking the jungle and saw loads of animals every day including a sloth and a large family of spider monkeys that arrived every afternoon around 4. Walking distance to restaurants and a few minutes drive to different beaches.

The adapter for charging electrical appliances was missing. ( EU sistem ). It is on sale at a nearby store for $3.

The staff was very helpful and friendly. Despite the unknown English, they struggled with communication. Breakfast was the best we had during our stay around CR.

What a wonderful place to experience Pura Vida. The magic big tree in the beatiful garden not only offers a tree house and climbing options, but also a sloth right in front of the terrasse. The room was very spacy and comfortable. Both hosts are super friendly and helpful. Breakfast is fantastic. And the great and quiet beach is only 10 minutes on foot away. We spent 5 nights at Green Jungle House, and we would always come back!

    - the rooms only have fans, and wooden windows with no glass, nor mosquito net. Being a tourist in the middle of the jungle, you really fear leaving those open at night because of mosquitos, insects and wild animals, but with closed windows, fresh air is not circulating in the room, and fans are not cooling it down. - in one of the rooms, the fan is dangerously close to the bunk-bed, one of our kids even had an accident when getting down from the bed, and accidentally touching the fan. Luckily it was not serious, just blading down some skin from her shoulder, but it could also be much worse - the internet is not stable, many times it is not working

We chose this property because its location in the jungle, which we really loved. It was very nice chilling on the big, cosy terrace in the evenings. The shared kitchen was very well equipped and maintained, kept clean, we enjoyed our stay.

no mosquito nets and the pillows were not that comfortable

The location and the environment is amazing, it truly is in the jungle, full of animals. The owners very really kind and helped us a lot. Our cat managed to get out and was lost during the day. The owner posted it for us in a local group and it helped us to find him. It was really easy to check in and check out. The room and the bathroom is really pretty. The only thing I missed was the light. There were no mosquito nets on the windows, so basically we could never open the wooden windows this way that we took our cat and did not want him to go out. It would have been nice if we could have left open at least one window for the night. The kitchen is outside, basically in the jungle. So it has an amazing vibe, having breakfast and your coffee in the jungle where agoutis are passing regularly. But don't leave outside the avocados (which we received as a gift from the owners) or any fruits on the table as a monkey took them and ate them all, leaving real mess behind. :) I really recommend this place if you are looking for an adventure in the jungle.

Unfortunately this accommodation was unacceptable for Booking.com standards. We had to leave a day early. Sadly, we had numerous issues with the room. The structure of the building did not allow us to sleep at night (there are large gaps in the bedroom walls), even without the loud noises of monkeys howling as early as 3 in the morning, lasting for a few hours at a time. If that wasn’t enough, someone decided it was a good idea to start loud construction work on the premises at 8 in the morning (drilling, hammering, cutting etc.). We booked what has been advertised as a boutique hotel, not a construction site. In addition, the power cut out with no backup, meaning it was not possible to use the bathroom at all (no daylight so pitch black without electricity), charge our devices and use the internet. Finally, there was a significant ant infestation at various points. Great shame as location is great on paper (in the middle of the jungle). And owner seemed to be very warm and welcoming, however clearly initial impressions as she didn’t agree to a refund of our final night which should have been the minimum given all the issues encountered. Stay clear until the renovation has been completed.

the water from the shower runs out if it onto the floor of the bathroom and the apartment stays pretty humid, no ventilation in the bathroom. it need something to cover yourself from the mosquitoes when you lie in bed, the windows has no bets either. nothing terrible but easy and important improvements that could help.

everything was pretty neat and kind of new. Bed, furniture and the balcony it was definitely the best part.

I misread the location. The house is located approximately 300 meters from the main road, up a dirt and rock track. Not a long walk but nearly impossible in the dark even with a flashlight. When it rains that dirt track becomes very muddy and very slippery. As well the proprietors and an extended family (?) live on the premises. They are very loud in the morning, there doesnt seem to be any regard for the guests who are paying for a peaceful time in the jungle. Either you need to be a deep sleeper or have good ear plugs at 6 a.m. Also cell reception is very bad, almost non existant.

Nice room, housekeeping staff was efficient. The owners offer to drive their guests but one has to make prior arrangements.

Here are constructive feedbacks: 1) While I appreciate the fact that the hotel wishes to incorporate aspects of nature into its premisses, our room unfortunately was quite filthy. The beds had cobwebs all over. The sheets did not smell clean. The bed's leather headboard was mouldy due to the dampness. The rooms need to be thoroughly cleaned, and bed sheets need to be rewashed. 2) While the bathroom was spacious it unfortunately smelled really bad, especially after we had a shower. The shower drain has no water retention, which allows for the bad smell to travel up from the drain. We had to keep the bathroom door shut at all times because of this. The bath towels provided were stained and smelled of B.O.. We had to dry ourselves with the face towels, which were also quite smelly. The shower head also had cobwebs and it has probably never been cleaned, given the limescale residue clearly visible. Due to this, the shower pressue was also very weak and the hot water takes ages to come through. The shower area itself also hasn't been cleaned properly in a long time. Bathroom needs to be thoroughly cleaned, shower head needs to be replaced, drain situation needs to be fixed and bath towels need to be replaced. 3) The mattresses are very old. The bed we slept in had a slump right in the middle from the years of use. Mattresses need to be rotated on a regular basis to keep their firmness. But in this case, they need to be replaced completely. 4) The upstairs communal area was very neglected. Sofas and chairs no longer look like the ad pictures. They are covered in spider webs, wet, and dusty. It's something quite simple to resolve which shouldn't have to be flagged by guests. Because of this, we were unable to use these areas. 5) Breakfast is not included in the price. Although we saw a menu for breakfast in the communal area, when we went downstairs to enquire, at about 8am, there was no one there, so we had breakfast elsewhere.

My husband and I stayed at the Green Jungle House Caribe for two nights. I will explain both what we liked about the property and where there is room for improvement. We hope that the owners will, of course, take any comments we make in a constructive manner. 1) The location is absolutely stunning! Surrounded by beautiful flora, the building and premisses are absolutely beautiful. It's like an emmersive experience into the jungle. 2) The kitchen is extremely well equipped with all of the appliances you may need for a long stay, including a blender which was the first time we've seen it in an accommodation with a shared kitchen. 3) The commual areas are functional and pretty. The downstairs breakfast table and dinning area is big enough to fit two families. The upstairs communal areas have a panoramic view of the premisses and you could stay there for hours with a nice cup of coffee watching the wildlife. 4) The room we stayed in was spacious and had 2 bedroom, with two doubled beds, one being a bunk bed with a single bed on top, and an additional single bed, so you can easily fit a family or a small group of friends in the room. The bathroom was also spacious with high ceilings to make the room feel bigger. The overhead fan worked very well and the big windows allows for light and fresh air to come into the rooms in the morning. The big barn style doors also open directly to the shared terrace with the same panoramic view as described above. 5) Goyo was extremely friendly and receptive. 6) The hotel is building a "look-out point" from its biggest tree, which is set to be amazing! The views from the highest point will be breath-taking and we wished it we would have seen it ready. 7) There is enough parking space for about 3-4 4x4 cars. 8) It is close to the beach and a variety of restaurants nearby. 9) this is a pet-friendly hotel, which is lovely.
