Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United StatesNothing really. There is construction next door, but it never bothered us.
It was perfect for us. The location is wonderful - steps from the national park and the beach! We had three beds and lots of room. It was updated, modern, comfortable beds, plenty of hot water and a nice large bathroom. We were able to share the facilities at the ElFaro Sister hotel which was right up the hill from ours. They have two lovely pools and we ate breakfast every morning at the restaurant on the fifth floor, which has an incredible view of the ocean. The food was amazing plenty of choices and all delicious. We also had secure on-site parking for our rental car. The best part I think was the front desk, specifically, Stephen. He was so helpful, informative, and never got tired of answering our many questions. He also helped us quickly get tickets to the national park, which must be done online and which is pretty difficult if you try to do it yourself. All the desk clerks there were great, and so cheerful We were able to leave our bags and parked car after checkout so we could have a last beach day - they are very flexible and accommodating

United KingdomFelt like we were on a building site! Lot of renovations going on. Dirty stairs, workmen and staff by the pool area, so didn’t feel comfortable using it. Quite a lot of noise too.
Very spacious accommodation, clean, comfortable beds and excellent a/c very appreciated. Kitchen was well equipped and useful. Breakfast nice, with choices, although would have like to have had chilled water available freely.

PolandHotel's swimming pool was under construction during our stay, yet guests were allowed to use the pool at their sister hotel. Additionally, the reception services and breakfast were also provided in the sister property.
The hotel's location is truly exceptional, offering convenient proximity to Manuel Antonio National Park and easy access to the beach. This prime positioning allowed us to fully enjoy the natural beauty and attractions of the area without any transportation hassles.

CanadaThere was construction around unit but work stops at sundown.
We had a unit in sister hotel by the road which is large, older and has a kitchen and full fridge. Ac works fine. Pool is up the hill as is breakfast and it’s good. Monkeys swing by pool. Nice beach through laneway towards National park which is just down street. So it’s quiet end of day as it’s a dead end street.

United KingdomThe staff were very friendly but service was a bit slow, both for breakfast, at the front desk and getting a lift up to the restaurant so mostly we walked but it was a bit steep.
We had rooms at the front of the hotel which were enormous with balconies, a fridge and safe. However there was still a lot of building work going on around them although this did not really impact us as we were out during the day. The swimming pools were lovely (and warm) and you could see lots of wildlife from the hotel. The hotel location was excellent, on the doorstep of the National Park and a few hundred metres from the beach and lots of restaurants.

FranceUnfortunately, when we arrived workmen were preparing the outside walls at the back of the property prior to painting making the back terrace and pool inaccessible. The next day workmen started excavating the front garden making the front terrace inaccessible too. We had no hot water the first day and there was work unfinished in the bedroom. However, the response from reception was efficient and swift and our issues with the room were resolved quickly. We were also happy with the compensation offered for the inconvenience from the outside work. We only had 1 free breakfast because of the hassle of getting to the restaurant at the top of the building next door. A simple room service breakfast would have made more sense.
A lovely large room with open plan well-equipped kitchen and living area. A generous bedroom and well proportioned bathroom. The main living areas all had ceiling fans which was a great feature. There are terraces front and back and a nice pool. We also had a free breakfast.

United KingdomThe breakfast staff were not so friendly. They may have been understaffed but a smile dosnt take up time. They seemed to keep forgetting us so we had to either get our own coffee or keep asking. The shower was terrible, either cold or burning hot so impossible to shower properly. The pool was extremely poor but you could use the sister hotel pool.
The view at breakfast at breakfast was lovely. The rooms were very big with plenty storage space. The location was ideal. Steven, from reception was most helpful, attentive and super friendly, a lovely young man.

United KingdomThere are a few basics that would really help to enhance the rooms. A drying rack for clothes would have been really handy, having wet stuff from the pools and beach was a bit of an issue getting it dry. Matt's by the front door to wipe sand off your feet and a bin! The door to the adjacent room is very thin and a curtain (or similar) to help with sound proofing here would have been good - but overall it was a lovely place to stay.
Location was fab - you really are right in the thick of it with the park and a stones throw from the beach. The room we had was a lovely size. Breakfast was good with a stunning view from the restaurant. Nice use of different pool areas. They are currently renovating some areas which will look great when finished. Smart TV in the room which was nice to relax in the evenings.

United StatesWe spent 3 nights here and really enjoyed our stay! Some of our favorite things were— how close we were from the entrance of Manuel Antonio Park, the view from breakfast and the short walk down to the beach! The rooms were huge and comfy (we had fabulous sleep here!). The walls are thin and you can hear the people next door, but we only had neighbors one of the nights. We saw monkeys from our balcony and saw a sloth up at breakfast! We also really loved the restaurant right below! The hill up to breakfast is quite manageable and nothing to worry about! We enjoyed the breakfast, mostly the omelette and the burrito! Would recommend this place!

The facility was quite good but the staff was incredible. No where have we ever stayed at a hotel and restaurant that was so personally attentive and genuinely concerned for our comfort. The staff at El Faro dining was incomparable and could not have been better at investing themselves in our daily eating comfort. That goes as well for the hotel staff at The Inn on The Park. Always having a driver and golf cart available to take us to and from breakfast, the beach, dinner or whatever we wanted. Five stars this seasoned group of professionals.

United StatesThe room has very little isolation that we could hear the people next to our room talking, as if they were in the same room. No hotel sign, but the staff sent us instructions on how to find their hotel and where to check-in a day before our reservation. Otherwise we would have lost.
Location, walking distance to Manuel Antonio park and the beach.
