Other properties (that are not as nice) in Tortuguerro try to mimic this property - the actual property is further down the path from town center so others sell themselves with a similar name so must be clear that you are entering Cabinas Tortuguerro as painted on the concrete exterior entrance.

The bedroom itself smelt and felt quite damp and dated, and the bed seemed to have a plastic mattress topper which made for very uncomfortable sleeping.

The staff were very friendly, and the breakfast was delicious. The location is perfect, very close to the park entrance and a short walk to the beach (although everything is a short walk in tortuguero!). The garden is beautiful and we loved hanging out on the hammock/seating outside the room. They have boxes for you to store your food in the kitchen, everything is well organised. They also offer a laundry service, which was very handy. The Aircon in the bedroom was good.

Would be nice to provide oil in the kitchen but can’t complain about anything. Just note that it can get noisy at night : parties in the village + animal sounds but we were too tired to care.

The availability and communication with the lodge could be improved

Decent accommodation in the beautiful remote area of Tortuguero. Our room had an air conditioner, which was more than welcome. The breakfast was simple but nice.

Super friendly and efficient staff . Clean room, hot water shower, free coffee and thee. Garden is secured at night. Night-Noise is inevitable (in Tortuguero) but was not a big problem. Not to far from jetty.

It was hard to find. When I got off the boat at the main dock, I had taken one of the last boats and by the time I got there it was getting dark quickly. The map of the area didn't show the site. On the list of lodging it is listed as #64, but there is no #64 on the map so I spent a lot more time than I would have liked to find the place. It would've been nice to grab something to eat before my turtle nesting tour, but that didn't happen.

Loved AC over bed. Also liked the small night light. Lanscapce was nice and breakfast was very fresh and tasty.

The bathroom / loo were very snug. The air con was directed straight on to me in bed, we either had to switch it off or I had to sleep at the wrong end of the bed!

Only some rooms have AC and on Booking.com its very difficult to tell which rooms have it. We had 2 very hot very rough nights in this hostel filled with sweat, but it turned out ok.

100 m walk from boats, east to find. Excellent (much needed) air con! Small but cosy. Home prepared bfast. Plenty of coffee and water available. Hummingbirds hover around the garden all day. Good location, friendly staff (April). The daytime rainforest walk is interesting on your own, plenty of wildlife to spot. Turtle tours are v popular, but enough turtles to watch.

Just 1 possible improvement would be to have common oil or butter in the kitchen to make cooking as a guest for 1 or 2 days easier.

Great location as it was walkable (5 mins or less) to the National Park entrance, main boat dock for tours and transportation, as well as the town for restaurants and stores. The breakfast was lovely and nice to have coffee and drinking water throughout the day. The A/C was strong and the shower had hot water. The room and bathroom were clean. The bed, linens, and pillows were comfortable. WiFi was good. Great that they can arrange tours for guests. Staff was friendly and helpful. It was nice to chat to other guests in common areas and have use of the kitchen to prepare meals. Beautiful garden with friendly cat.

The shared bathroom upstairs could have been a bit cleaner (bath mat could be changed more regularly and plug fixed) but otherwise it was good for the very cheap price.

Great budget option. Very basic but true to the picture. Fan in the room kept it comfortable for sleep. Breakfast was great. Staff were helpful.

We shared a bathroom with 2 other guestrooms, a bit cramped. No easy seats to relax, just benches, and hammocks.

Nice location amd cheap, compared to other facilities. Easy to book trips in the park. Staff spoke good english. We booked for 4 nights, but this appeared to be a bit long, so we decided to leave 1 night early, this was refunded without question. 24/7 tea facility in the common area, 2 periods per day free coffee 8-10 and 15-17.

There weren’t that many places to sit and be comfortable, but this is personal preference and I would still stay again for a short time.

The hostel was very pleasant and we appreciated it being very clean every day. The ladies that run the place are very nice and helped us book a tour that was amazing and great value for money. I would recommend this place.

2 mins from the jetty and 2 mins from the park entrance but tucked behind walls with a nice garden so felt away from the crowds a bit. Comfy benches and hammocks outside the rooms. Windows are mosquito netted and there is AC.

Location was great, safe, coffee always available. Lots of wildlife in the grounds. Put us in touch with a great guide, Manuel Mores. Easy to walk to Caribbean coast, lots of wildlife. Great to access by boat
