Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

I revisted this place specifically because I wanted to see the finished product, as I had stayed there several years ago when it was newly opened. I was very pleased-- especially with the addition of the pool. The grounds are still the biggest attraction, with lots of vegetation and lots of birds ( I saw a wider variety there than at Selva--or at least they were easier to see because of the open space). The room had all the essentials and the shower was warm. The restaurant and bar on site is a big plus and the food and drinks were quite good.

NetherlandsIt is a bit out of town and the surrounding area looks a bit poor. You definitely need a car to go for lunch and dinner, as the restaurant options are limited and no one seemed to use them.
Great garden and lodges. Breakfast was very good and the tours offered, though at external companies, we're excellent as well.

We liked the grounds and the quiet and relaxing vibe. Lovely to have a cup of coffee sitting outside watching humming birds. The restaurant was perfect for wildlife watching too.

United KingdomOur room was very clean and everything was functional but the decor was quite basic with quite a small double bed. This is in keeping with the vision but can feel slightly overpriced.
We loved the beautiful garden and trails, the warm hospitality of our hosts and the relaxation spaces including the pool and chill-out bar. We also enjoyed the delicious breakfasts, and some simple but delicious evening meals. We enjoyed talking with Maite and her family about their renovation of the property since 2020 and we loved their vision of a nature focused experience.

The food at the restaurant was excellent. Bird watchers paradise thanks to the staff putting fruit out to attract them. Lovely walking trails around the property. Friendly helpful staff. Enjoyed being woken even at 5.30 hearing the howling monkeys.

United KingdomNo air con or blinds , it’s gets hot and sunny very early. A bit isolated . We went by bus and then had to walk a far bit but if coming by car it’s perfect. No kitchen option for guests.
Amazing place , a little heaven on earth. The outdoor space is gorgeous, lovely pool area and paths for walks that lead to the river where you can swim as well. It’s a reserve as well so we were able to spot several birds and even monkeys. Bar and restaurant for guests. Payment can be done with card . The cabines are simple but have the essential including a coffee machine and coffee provided. Mosquito net around the bed. Delicious breakfast.

Breakfast and the couple of dinners we had their were very good. Location was very peaceful and you needed a car to get there. Free parking on site. Property had 20 chalets - we were in number 19 - comfy large bed, fridge and fan. Lots of birds and great flowers and plants on the property and we heard howler monkeys at dawn which was an unforgettable experience. The two ladies (owner?) who worked reception and food area were very friendly. Close proximity to La Selva which had a great morning tour.

United StatesJust be aware that a "double superior" room is much different than you find in the US. If you want a little more space, book a larger room with more than 1 bed. We two adults had a true "double" bed which was very small for us, and the mattress was very basic with springs poking us. There was only a stool for seating in the room so we brought in folding chairs from the restaurant, as my husband needs to sit in a chair to dress, etc. The bathroom is tiny and had a drop off step between the toilet and shower and was hard to maneuver around without falling, especially since my husband uses a cane. The pool had no railings to enter and exit so that also was a bit tricky. Lighting was very low in the room, also harder for older folks.
Staff/owners were very helpful and accommodating. Cristina spoke English when our Spanish didn't quite meet our needs. Breakfast was great. We also ate dinner twice and it was also very good. The upstairs bar area is nice for relaxing. THe grounds are beautiful with flowers, birds, and trails. The pool is very nice. Our room had AC.

United KingdomWe loved the location, the gardens and accommodation were very peaceful and the hotel was perfect for relaxation. The staff were very friendly and helpful and the breakfast was like a work of art (tasted good too). We had a very comfortable stay and enjoyed the trails around the gardens. There is a small bar upstairs which was very quiet and provided a perfect spot to relax with a drink in the hammocks and watch the wildlife. We had dinner on one night, which was also very nice. There is a small supermarket within walking distance. We had a small fridge, coffee machine (coffee inc) and a clothes horse and hangers (very useful) in the room. The room also had A/C.
