It was wonderful, only thing I would say is check in should be 2-3pm, 4pm is a little late.

The probably was lovely and the pool was great! Beds were comfortable and the rooms were spacious.

The official checkin was at 16:00 and we arrived already at 12:00 in tamarindo. When we contacted the owner, at first early checkin was not available because we booked 2 days in advance. Fortunately the cleaning lady was ready at 14:30 and we could checkin earlier then expected.

Very big comfortable apartment with a kitchen that includes everything you need to make a good meal. The location was good, only 10min walk from the beach. Enough parking space and good instructions for check in.

There is a steep hill to get to the hotel.

The noise .. we had a very hard time sleeping .. there was a huge construction site next door that was relentless and there is a venue called RIO down the road which had such loud noise till 12 .. 3 of the 6 nights we were there.

The place is spacious and the place reasonably clean. The beds were comfortable and it had a great kitchen. The bathroom was also spacious but there was mould near the shower but other than being a bit old, it was clean. The rooms are serviced everyday which is nice. The pool is really small and the water temp was like a warm bath.

The place inside is a bit run down. The shower is old, and water goes everywhere in the bathroom. The shampoo and body wash in the shower are not labelled, so dont know which is which. On saturday night, we could hear loud bass from a restaurant close by, but wasnt too loud. We were a family of 4 and there were only 2 pool towels and 2 shower towels when we arrived. There should have been 4 of each before our arrival. Not enough hooks to dry bathing suits and towels. No where to place clothjng and suitcases.

The bed was extremely uncomfortable. It was one mattress about 12 inches thick. You could feel the springs. There is no room for chairs around the pool. The chairs provided outside each unit are quite uncomfortable. So there really is no space to lounge outside. They didn't have washcloths available and the towels, although clean, were stained and fraying. The sheets on the bed didn't match. The rooms felt like they could use a little TLC. The headboard had a big crack in it. The bathroom door needed to be wiped down. The mattress and bath towels need to be replaced. You could see on the ceiling where it was patched but not painted. Small details that make a big difference in the experience. This hotel felt like a place where you wouldn't spend a lot of time, just use it as a home base and go out each day. It's not a place where you would hang out and lounge by the pool. Clean and basic. I was kind of expecting that from the rate we paid but would opt for a little more luxury next time.

The staff was very quick to respond to a couple issues we had. Great communication during our stay. Housekeeping was very friendly and helpful. I liked that there were only 5 units which provided a quieter environment and more privacy. Easy access getting into lockbox and room. It is gated and felt safe. It is in a good location to a lot of restaurants and a quick walk to the beach. We met some great people during our stay!

The door didn't feel very securely locked, the sink knob kept falling off, the faculties were a bit outdated. The road getting up to the property was rough. I feel like it was not a good value for money

It was closer to the center, and nice restaurants. There was a lot of space. There was hot water, which is a rare thing to find in CR! The bed was comfy.

Didn't like the street in front of this location, need more light on the street, the mounting of the shower head must be changed, and the small space outside our unit (#4).

Most days were very quiet at night which is important to my husband and I us, secure, and things were promptly taken care of by property management.

Enormous ruts on access street. Some, directly outside the hotel were filled in before we left but the route out was still very tricky.

The road in front of the property is very uneven and has many holes, but the property helped in filling the holes. This is important info that I would have liked to know in advance, so I wouldn’t get an unpleasant surprise arriving 6pm at night.

There really isn't anything negative to say about Hotel Gardenia. It may not be the same in every room, but the shower in the room we stayed in could use some sort of curtain or door in addition to the partial glass wall to stop large amounts of water from getting on the bathroom floor and the road in front of the hotel entrance needs to be repaired due to a lengthy deep trench that can be difficult to navigate but that is nothing a 4x4 SUV can't handle and also not the hotel's fault in any way. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and plan on using the Hotel for our future stays in Tamarindo.

The location was beautiful and truly in the heart of Tamarindo. The rate they charge is beyond fair for what an amazing location and property they have. We loved how it was just outside of the major roadways to ensure it was peaceful and quiet but also less than 5-minute walk into the middle of the main part of town. We felt comfortable knowing it was gated and bordered by walls for excellent security. The property is very clean and well kept, and the staff is very friendly and responsive. Any rare minor issue that could occur will be tended to nearly immediately and you will be provided with updates. Hotel Gardenia is an excellent choice for your stay.
