The garden is relaxing and well appointed with good recycling facilities and comfy hammocks. The shared spaces were all really good, including a well equipped kitchen. The hostel is an easy 15 minute walk from Barrio Escalante. The beds were comfortable and the breakfast was exceptional. Thank you to our hosts for looking after us so well.

Our bathroom was functional, however warm water was only possible with low water pressure. The bathroom also had few spots here and there and appeared not to be thoroughly cleaned, but it was enough to feel comfortable for our short stay.

The hosts were absolutely lovely and the breakfast every morning was just perfect. Our room had a very nice large bed. It is located in a more calm neighborhood not to far away from the city center or barrio escalante. The Garden was very nice to sit in to enjoy the sun. I would definitely recommend this place !!

There is no hot water in the sink and the hot water pressure in the shower is very low.

It very quiet and relaxing here and the free homemade breakfast is outstanding.

It was secluded, quiet but close to the downtown area and safe to walk.

Lovely accommodation with super friendly people running it! The bedding was really comfortable too and I loved the breakfast!

Location is slighly away from the city centre! But then it would cost a lot more if it were nearer! Also since there's no supermarket or restaurant immediately nearby, perhaps they can arrange a phone-order system with some such companies. BUT these things are minor. I'd stay there again, if I were to visit San Jose, CR.

This property deserves more guests! It is a great value for money! The staff is helpful. I paid for a bunk bed and got the entire area for myself! Breakfast was OK. The decor topclass, it is a wooden property and the sit-out, the garden etc are too good! They even have a workstation and a barbeque!

Not very social and not so many options for eating out in the neighborhood.

Hostel felt very safe. 30 min from airport with taxi or uber. Spacious and clean rooms. 8 people dorm had two bathrooms with hairdryers and hot showers. Comfortable beds and delicious on the spot prepared breakfast.

The gym was not included but rather next door and you had to pay 3000 colones to access it.

The breakfast was amazing with eggs, toast and a lot of fruit (+coffee or tea). The staff was friendly and the rooms were nice. My 8 bed dorm had two bathrooms.

Online it said there was a gym, however this is something in another building that you have to pay for.

Very good option for a cheap but nice place to stay in San Jose. The social areas are large and welcoming, the rooms are clean, and they serve a great breakfast. We stayed here before starting a group trip in CR and this was one of the best stays we had for the 2 weeks we traveled the country.

The neighborhood doesn't feel very safe to walk at night, not many eating options nearby.

A very relax and comfy place with very nice and helpful staff. Great place to return after a a day of volcanoes and other wonders. They help me a lot to plan my trip with great suggestions and with the logistics, especially Suzette and Marta. I would definitely come back.
