I highly recommend this hostel! I stayed here three different times for a night, and every time it felt so welcoming – just like home. Everything is very clean, the beds are comfortable, the showers are hot, and there’s even a TV with Disney+/Netflix/Prime… just perfect! The place is designed with so many thoughtful details: a fully equipped kitchen, hair dryers, shower products, extra blankets if needed… you really feel that everything has been thought of for the guests’ comfort. The staff has been incredibly kind and helpful – they even let me leave some of my belongings a couple of times, always with such friendliness and quick responses. The automated check-in system makes everything super easy as well. For me, it’s the perfect place to stay for a night or two before exploring the rest of Costa Rica. Stayed twice in this hostel. Definately recommend for girls. It's safe, tidy, well equipped, you have everything you need. Also staff is very nice and helpful. There's self check in in hostel but but they are always in touch when you need help or any info.

i felt the storage space was less. I got lucky since there was no other traveller sharing the room. But if it was at maximum capacity, we might have struggled with luggage space

I stayed in a room for myself as I needed the quiet and the noise from the streets made it hard to sleep in peace. One night people walking by made me feel like they were outside my door cause you can hear literally everything. In addition - the room didnt have a hanger for the towels and the closet space made it so everything was kind of stuffed in the same space. The room didnt have a small light or a night table which would have been great. About cleaning - i wish the showers were cleaned on the daily, the towels outside the showers were the same despite being other guests before me.

Location was great, and all services are offered. Loved having a shampoo and body wash on the showers and towels for me! Loved the common areas and the safety system all around! I was by myself most of the time so it felt like having a huge house for me. I felt super safe and the staff gave me great recommendations about places to hang and eat close by! The bed was comfortable, felt clean.

I stayed in a dorm which was fine as I was the only one in there. I think it would be quite cramped if it was full as the room is small.

There were not enough or big enough garbage cans in the bathrooms or in the kitchen. Both were easily filled between visits by the excellent cleaning staff. The kitchen garbage was overflowing each day with takeout containers. The excessive thinness of the toilet paper was difficult, causing shreds of it to end up on the floor. Upgrading even a small notch would make a big difference. A place to recycle plastic bottles and paper would be welcome. The suggestion to download Moovit was awful. It was full of ads and difficult to use. A better suggestion would be Waze.

This was my last night at the accommodation. I stayed here a few nights before over my 2 week trip and kept returning here because I felt safe, the location is safe and the communication with the host was great. Beds were comfortable and I like the fact that bathrooms and showers are on the corridor so you don't have to wait.

I returned for another night and everything was great again. Great communication with the host. Great stay, comfortable bed, clean showers and bathrooms. Shower has hot water, which I very much appreciated after staying at some other places with only cold water. There is paper towel which is great. Shower gel and hand soap included.

It was a bit noisy at night as there is a train line on a busy road next to the hostel and they seemed to enjoy utilising the horn...! Bring ear plugs! However, this isn't anything that the hostel can do about this and everything else was brilliant.

Great location, really close to Barrio Escalante which was a very cool area to explore, lots of bars and restaurants. Felt very safe too. We had a private room which was great, comfy bed! Had a big TV too, not that we used it. The shared facilities were extremely clean and the kitchen was very well equipped. There were no staff as it is a self check-in with codes to enter the property and room. They were readily available via WhatsApp with very prompt responses to any questions.

I loved the location of the hostel, in Bario escalante, which is safe and vibrant. Communication with the host was great and I very much appreciate all the info about busses and transport to make the most out of my limited time in Costa Rica. There are enough showers, sinks and toilets on the corridor, I never had to wait to use one. The space is clean, with high ceiling and airy. I loved the fact that they have paper towels and the whole digital codes with clear instructions on what to use where.

This is the place, when you got back from wherever you where before in Costa Rica to just calm down and have a very good night sleep. The beds are comfy, the rooms, showers, toilets are clean (btw the soap in the toilets smells amazing). The area surrounding is barrio escalante, there you can stroll around, enjoy a really good Coffee (cafeoteca is beyond), have great food and Just enjoy your stay in San jose.

Nothing, everything was amazing 👏 Couldn't have better experience to start my trip in Costa Rica!

The location is perfect, close to Barrio Escalante and very close to the city center by walking as well. There is a supermarket where you can find everything you need at 5 minutes walking distance and very nice restaurants and coffee shops around (I recommend Mandrágora Gastro Pub with Harry Potter vibes and Franco for a nice coffee). You have everything in this hostel, a lot of showers, toilets, full equipped kitchen, beds are perfects. The team who is in charge of this hostel is very helpful and friendly ! Thanks to them ! It's automatic check in, so nobody will be here to host you so make sure to have read before the message from the hostel on booking. You will have to fill some basics info in order to have your key to enter the building (1 minute action so it's manageable easily)

I really liked the fact that it is so safe and really clean, well decorated and practical. Also 200 meters from the hostel there is the mandragore restaurant 😱 Harry Potter theme a must go

Nothing except bottom bunk couldn't use plug as I was using adapter plug so just used on another bunk. That might have been difficult if it was a full room. There were enough places to plug in so really not a problem

It was just so lovely, spotless and comfortable. I was able to wash and dry my clothes so an excellent stop on a longer trip. I also lived that they provided filter coffee. All in all excellent

If I’d have to say one thing is that if you’re not used to noise - especially on weekend days - it can be noisy outside so bring earplugs!

This accommodation has everything you need. Every detail is thought out and the space is comfortable and spacious. From all the hostels I have been this has to be the best one. I felt at home immediately and the host will do everything to make you feel comfortable and are available anytime. At first, I was hesitant as I am a female solo traveler and the place did not have many reviews, but this is due to the fact it’s a new hostel, and now I wouldn’t stay anywhere else when visiting San Jose. The location is very central, eating spots at walkable distance, supermarket, even a cute book store. Felt very safe here!
