Because we enjoy morning and evening walks on the beach but prefer to spend the day lounging away from the crowds and beach vendors, the only thing that would make Hotel Marielos perfect is the addition of a swimming pool.🤞

This was our third stay at Hotel Marielos and all three were wonderful. While not beachfront, the beach is an easy 5 minute walk across the street. There are numerous restaurants, shops, tour operators, equipment rentals, a medical clinic, etc. within just a few blocks. The staff is small but all are friendly and helpful. The grounds and the common kitchen are clean and well cared for. This is not a five star hotel, but it is very definitely an excellent value.

The rooms are meager and the A/C unit rumbled off and on throughout the night. One of the two rooms we booked had a (tolerable) odor. Tiny ants were in the bathroom. All of that said, it was sufficient for our needs and the location can’t be beat.

The location is ideal! Right across the street from the beach! The price was very good and it included a parking space, which was excellent to have!

The hotel does not offer breakfast. There are cafes and restaurants within a few metres of the hotel across the road on the beachside and it would make good sense for the hotel to offer guests a deal with some of the nearest establishments so they can get coffee and restaueants at a reduced rate.

The bed clanks, just to turn on your side. There is no isolation so you can hear the other room's noise especially at night. The shower is full of calcaire so water doesn't flow much. No hot water rather just warm almost cold.

The location is great, just across the beach and surfing area. Restaurants are just a few steps away. We recommend Diria restaurant for dine in.It is a fancy hotel and restaurant but the food price is almost the same price are other restaurants, probably a dollar or two..

The photos of the rooms look a lot nicer than the reality. They were adequate, clean and comfortable enough. You get what you pay for. The kitchen could be better equipped. It is small and lots of people using it.

The location is fantastic. Right over the road from the beach and close to shops. The outside spaces are colourful and pleasant. Really enjoyed relaxing on the outside chairs.

Some basic things could be added. Some examples: a chair in the room, a can opener and a bottle opener in the kitchen.

Just across the road from the beach, I could leave my valuables in my room and just take my sandals and a towel to the beach. I really enjoyed the friendliness of the staff and practising my Spanish with them. Local people are very friendly especially when you don’t come with a big foreign attitude and don’t always try to squeeze English out of them. WE are the guests in their country!

The bathroom door was unusable and therefore bathroom privacy was non existent. The shared kitchen could use some more appliances, though it served the purpose.

Great value for money considering prices in Tamarindo. Very basic - but clean and well located. Check out at 12 is great.

A lamp by the bed would be a nice addition. I had one large suitcase open on the floor, which worked fine for me, but if I’d been travelling with someone else, we’d probably have needed to unpack a bit as there wouldn't be enough room to have two suitcases open.

This hotel is basic but has everything you need for a short stay at the beach. It hasn't been renovated for a while, but it has a charm about it, and my room was clean. The aircon is old, but it works fine. The location is perfect, right across the road from the main beach. I was surfing every day and enjoyed staying here. It's not fancy at all, but for me, it was good value for what I was looking for as a solo traveller.

Our room was disappointing. Small & sparse. Nowhere to even hang clothes. It did have a refrigerator that worked well as did the A/C.

Close to beach. Supermarket, restaurants & beach bars very close by. Patio with table & chairs outside of room & with a variety of wildlife roaming past. 10min walk to centre of town with plenty of shops & restaurants on the way. Room was cleaned daily & fresh towels supplied every couple of days.

The check did not go smooth, they wanted to put me in a room I did not book. I protested and wanted to talk to the manager who was unavailable and wasn't on site finally I took the room with the promise that the correct room was available in 3 days.

Close to the beach and restaurants, markets. Good air-conditioning beds were old but fairly comfortable.
