Very close to the airport. The staff were very responsive and supportive when discussing our late check in. They greeted us when it was after midnight which we really appreciated. Shower had fantastic pressure and was warm. Bedroom was basic but for the price very good!

It was kind of a hassle for the night shift receptionist lady to get us 2 additional body soaps when requested.

There was no air conditioning in my room and no window. Even with the little fan aimed at me, the room was still stuffy. The mattress and pillows were quite lumpy but manageable. One receptionist with dark curly hair, who worked a shift until 9pm, was very unpleasant and acted like you were disturbing her watching videos if you needed to ask her a question.

I could walk to this hotel from the Alaluela bus station, though sidewalks were poor for wheeling a suitcase. Easy transport by bus to San José and only a 10-minute taxi/Uber ride to the airport. The bed in the room was large enough to put my suitcase on one side of it. To save money, I booked a room with shared bath. The shower had hot water and the small bathroom was moderately clean. The bed was OK. Plenty of shops and restaurants around the hotel. There was a garden where you could sit and a kitchen which had a fridge that could be used, and a microwave. A small breakfast was included in the price. There was a TV very high up that got lots of cable channels, even CNN. Most of the staff were friendly.

The beds aren’t very comfortable. And our room was on the second floor with not the most stable feeling steps. No super fun to carry my suitcase up.

It’s a nice place to stay for a night before or after flying. Bonus, they do bag storage for a fee through Bounce.

It's a cozy little place that will provide you with a nice comfortable little room. It is really close to the airport and there's a soda right around the corner with a delicious casado. I'm a bit "demanding" when it comes to the breakfast. It was good but being the most important meal of the day, perhaps it could come in bigger portions.

An on-demand water heater in the shower would be nice. Even a cheap suicide shower would do! It's a bit chilly in San Jose and the ice cold shower was a bit shocking to endure. jajaja

The complimentary breakfast was delicious (gallo pinto!) and the location is in close proximity to airport. They arrange your airport shuttle for you as well.

Not much effort put in the front desk person. Young person who doesn't seem to have much experience with receiving customers, and doesn't know much about local services neither.

The location in center of Alajuela. Overall it was quiet and secured. Rooms were clean. Breakfast was ok.

The ceiling fan only had an on/off switch rather than a controller, so it ran at full speed and was noisy. There was no hot water for the shower.

We had Room 1 (standard double with bathroom) which is a nice cool internal room with plenty of space and a window on to a light well which provides good ventilation. The bedding was clean and the room tidy. The family running the hotel are friendly and helpful and made us fell very welcome. We started and finished our holiday at Hotel Pacande which is perfect for access to the airport and not in the hustle & bustle of San Jose. Alajuela is a nice town with good restaurants and shops.

Lighting in the rooms goes on and off at times.

Rooms and common areas are clean and comfortable.. Staff is friendly, courteous, go out of their way to be helpful, know the neighborhood well, are able and willing to give directions and advice about local restaurants and stores, transportation, and call taxis if needed. Breakfast is simple but well-prepared to order. Location super convenient.
