How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

Verified reviewThe condo is beautiful and has everything you need. Comfortable beds and pillows. All the appliances and even a second refrigerator and microwave in master bedroom. Very clean. The poor are is very pretty. The black beach is nice and great for walking. We played in the waves too. Quiet area and still close to many shops, restaurants, supermarkets, etc. An hour and a half drive to Manuel Antonio Park and Damas Island which we strongly recommend. Friendly staff at the property. Our host Mario was keeping in touch with us to make sure we have everything we need. He was quick to respond our questions and provided really great accommodations. We strongly recommend the property and the area. We had an amazing time.

The passcode to get in was wrong, the floors were filthy (feet were black walking bare feet in unit). Confusion and difficulty with ac in all bedrooms, kitchen/family was freezing but bedrooms were too hot. Took couple of days and sleepless night to fix the issue by moving fans around unit. Both safes inoperable. Too much time on my holiday communicating to various staff to resolve issues, some not helpful, Mario was helpful. For our wasted time we were granted an extra 2 hrs later checkout to compensate. No coffee. No beach view as depicted in photos, it was a backside view. Not told about the construction off patio, noise started at 6 am, thus chose not use patio with noise and dust.
Dear Guest We want you to have a great stay! We have one of the largest condos! We are a few steps from the beach. This is still beachfront property. It takes 2 minutes to get to our Awesome pools and another minute to the beach! Enjoy Full beach view from our pool area a few steps away! The main balcony is being blocked by new construction and it gets a little noisy during the daytime. However, we compensate by providing lower pricing and better amenities inside our condo. For example, our Condo is larger. Also, You will find 2 Large smart TVs and 2 more 32- 40 inch smart TVs, etc. Our floors are never filthy…. We have professional cleaners that have been with us for several years. Please read all our reviews… We resolve most issues right away… Please do not wait until review time to leave a bad review. Call me directly once you find something you do not like. We have resolved the AC issues. Both of our safes operate. Please watch the videos we provide. Thanks

Verified reviewVery roomy and comfortable. Very quiet at night and wonderful beds. The kitchen had everything we needed to prepare our meals. A guard was on duty 24 hours and parking was convenient and secure.

Verified reviewWe loved the home but when we booked it we thought it was a beachfront balcony property with a straight view to the beach.There is an obstructed view and it’s on the beach but there is no view of the beach .
Everything was amazing except it didn’t face the beach it was at the back of the building.
From our main balcony there is a side view of the ocean. Please see the photo. our other two balconies offer mountain view and a view of famous Crocs casino 200 meters away. Thanks

Verified reviewThe unit was very nice and clean. We felt very safe having a gated area to park our car, with a security guard at the entrance. Also, a security guard by the pool area by the beach entrance. The grounds were very well kept, and staff was very nice
Our view from the balcony was a little of the ocean, but mostly of run down houses. The nearby house had at least three roosters that started crowing at 1am in the morning and continued until daylight. They kept us up most nights. The pictures from the balcony of what we thought we were getting was not what we got. .
