Sandavágur, Faroe Islands

This hostel is the ideal place for solo travelers. It's cheaper compared to all the other options and has very nice facilities. The shared kitchen and living room are spacious. The common bathrooms are clean and functional. The staff is super welcoming. Vagar is a rather small island, but if you have a car, you can consider using this place as a starting point to explore the nearby islands. And there is a cat. It's always a plus.

Perfectly equipped apartment in a quiet area 10mins from the centre of Torshavn. Friendly hosts. 2 good-sized bedrooms. Good shower. The apartment had everything we needed for our stay. The price was good for Torshavn. Good views over town from the living room. Sheep grazing a few metres from the bedroom window. The Faroes are stunning…we hope to come back to explore more…

About the property - nothing. The walk from Torshavn centre can be a little steep in places, so maybe not great for people with reduced mobility.

It is a very spacious apartment and adequate room for two couples. Great kitchen facilities and dining area. The elevator was nice to have and there is free parking all around. Close to supermarket, restaurant and takeaway. We highly recommend the restaurant across the road, Hamsa.

Just a couple of things. The dining table chairs are plastic and not very comfortable. The beds were on the small side and way too soft for our liking.

Perfect apartment near the city with all the commodities. The host Alvur is there to help and very kind. He was open to extend our reservation one more night as our departing flight was cancelled. I strongly recommend this place as your stay in the Faroe Islands.

The door at the end of the corridor, near my room, was loudly closed very late at night and early morning every day. Staff also loudly closed this door and the door to a staff/maintenance room further along the corridor. Both of these things, as well as a loud staff area outside at the back of the hotel, made sleep very difficult. Being asked for full payment on check-in isn't the most welcoming first impression either. Hard to recommend and I wouldn't stay here again purely for the difficulties I had in sleeping.

Terrible access through a dimly lit gate then round a poorly maintained and badly lit gravel path to the rear of the block. A badly maintained tiled external staircase with missing tiles. Key safes for the two flats were sited for a left handed user on the left side of the entrance and if keys were dropped they would have disappeared into the dark! Once inside the flat was well appointed but the lack of any warning sign resulted in me opening the door to the shower room/toilet and falling down a nine inch step into said room, striking my right forearm on the door handle before landing in a heap on the floor. The resultant gash in my arm was quite deep and bled profusely throughout the night despite repeated changes to bandaging. I did clean up the mess of blood on the floor and wall and hopefully this left no trace.
