Reviews of Tongfu Inn(In the National Park)

Carol's was a home away from home. It's a place for true travelers: clean and welcoming, the food excellent, perhaps some of the best I've ever had on a trip, but the people here make the difference. They're kind and always ready to lend a hand. Carol organized our excursions beautifully; everything was perfect. She helped us find a piece of luggage we lost on a train; without her, it wouldn't have been possible. What can I say? Everything was exceptional!

Lovely family/hosts. Very helpful, especially with ticket reservations and planning our trips through the park. There are a lot of tasty options for dinner too!

The beds were a little bit hard, but not uncomfortable. The toilet is located on the shower floor and so the bathroom floor is quickly wet and slippery (but I think this is common for buildings in the area)

The location was great, 5 minute walk to the west entrance. Rooms were clean and nice beds.but the best was the hospitality of carol and her family.she literally makes sure that everything goes perfect..with her guidance the whole visit to the park was made so easy..and with her tips you get to see everything and in a way that you dont compete with the crowds...had a great time and will stay there again...from the bottom of my heart...thanks carol and your family for a great stay and i loved the cats too.

The Inn is outside the west gate of the national forest park. This gate is not popular as the other gates so it was easy to escape all the queues in the morning and after returning at 5pm. The west gate is away from the city and has the country vibe which helps to relax. The stars appears so vividly at night too. The Owner Carol was so nice. She helped me book the unlimited package with good offer, provided cheap ride to the Tinamen mountain, and even gave me a gift as souvenir! The room is big, comfy and has all what i need … kettle, shampoo, conditioner, toothbrush, towel, hair dryer … etc. The restaurant food is good and prices are reasonable. I was staying for 4 days, they told me to tell them anytime i want to clean the room and they did clean it.

Because the Inn at the west gate, so it was far away from the city centre and the railway station. Because it is in the country, transportation was hard and the roads itself are not meant to be navigated at night. No restaurant options nearby and even the pharmacy takes half an hour walking to go there and at night there is no proper lighting in the road and stray dogs. The west gate of the national forest park is accessible by the cable-cars only so you have to do the unlimited package anyway.

The owner was very helpful about planning our time in Zhangjiajie. All of her recommendations were very helpful and everything was drawn out on a map for us to follow. She booked our tickets for us when we arrived and woke up to do an early check in for us (we arrived before 7am). The inn is a 5 minute walk from the west gate which is a lot less crowded. The breakfast was affordable and delicious. I’ve been missing the breakfast A noodles since I got home! They also have a laundry service. All of the staff were very friendly!

The bathroom is a wet bath. It was fine to work around, but not me preference. The accommodations were so affordable, it really is a good deal.

- Carol was super helpful and gave us a lot of information so at the end of the day, we were really organized - The hotel was literally 2 minutes walking from the gate of the national park - they had a lot of local food to taste at the restaurant - they have two cats (huge bonus) - again, the people were the kindest on earth and we really liked to spent time there for our stay.

Everything was perfect. It is close to parc entrance (5min walk to west entrance). Carol explanations were very good. Room was clean and comfortable. We had a very good stay !

Carol, the English-speaking host, was extremely helpful and friendly — it’s not common to find someone so fluent in English during our travels in China. She gave us clear guidance on visiting Zhangjiajie National Forest Park and Tianmen Mountain. She also handled a bathroom issue quickly and professionally, resolving it within a couple of hours. Her support made our stay much more comfortable.

The paid breakfast could be improved — the taste wasn’t very satisfying. Also, the table in the room was quite small, which made it inconvenient for placing our items comfortably.

The host was very helpful. She guided us on how to tour the area without much difficulties. Without her plan, we would have been lost.

We are so so happy that we stayed at Tongfu Inn for the duration of our trip to Zhangjiajie National Park. We had a clean, spacious room with the biggest bed I’ve ever slept in (would fit four adults for sure). It was always a great relief to come back to the inn and our room after each tiring day in the mountains. The inn does really good and affordable breakfast and dinner. The surroundings around the inn were calm and peaceful, not too many buildings and lots of crops and greenery with mountains nearby. Just a short 5min walk to the West gate which we liked being near because it wasn’t as busy as the East gate, but we were still close to many attractions in the Park. Carol is such a kind and helpful person - she was ultimately what made our stay so memorably lovely. She helped us book cars for transport, tickets for the Park, and showed us where to go for each day to see everything, including a couple places that weren’t on most visitor’s radar (you had to specifically tell the bus driver in the Park to stop there) with magnificent views. Great family run business, would 100/10 recommend!

Restaurant serving all meals of the day available at very affordable prices and all very tasty. Perfect location to the national park, 8 minute walk max to the park gates and bonus, we started at the unpopular start point which meant we avoided crowds. the family running the hotel were the kindest people ever and were incredibly helpful when we were planning our movements around the park.

The B&B is a 5 minute walk from the Zhangjiajie national park westgate & ticket office. This is one of the quietest entrances, (we had no queues at all). Breakfast and dinner are really very good value for money. Dinner is prepared on the spot, for a very reasonable price, with all fresh ingredients and tasted super good. Carol is a terrific host who can take care of many things (itinary's in the national park, tickets, day trips) and for the non-Chinese it is good to know that Carol speaks very good English.

Beds are rather hard and some maintenance is needed. However this was also the cheapest B&B of our entire China trip. So considering the price we say it is still very good value for money!!!

The area is super close to the Zhangjiajie national park west exit. Great for busy days as many enter through the east entrance so a lot less people. The staff is extremely helpful and friendly, carol is able to speak English and is very knowledgeable about the area and park, also helped us book all of our tickets for the park.

The owners of the property are lovely especially Carol. She was absolutely great and really helped us out by arranging our three days there with detailed maps and all the ticket bookings she did for us. It made our stay extra smooth and we got so much out of the three days. Thank you so much Carol to you and your beautiful family. We loved it.

Carol is very patently and took a lot of time for our questions. She takes care of everything and is super friendly. 5-Star!

Carol and her family was absolutely amazing! Very friendly and polite, she gave us a lot of useful information about the park and she satisfied all ours questions. Her place was beautiful, the house was very cozy, placed in a nice and quiet village and the position is perfect because is just 5-10 minutes walk from the west gate of zhangjiajie park. They prepare a huge breakfast and dinner, with local ingredients and typical food. We can surely reccomand it to everybody!

The hostess and location were both exceptional. Our stay was incredible, I would 100% recommend.

I've stayed at Tongfu Inn for five nights and I couldn't have chosen something better to explore the Zhangjiajie national park. Carol will explain everything you need to know about what you can explore and how it works, she helped me buying tickets and transports and she gave me some maps. The room was big, clean and comfortable. Carol and her family are always available to help you with anything you need and they will cook super tasty and fresh food everyday. Tongfu Inn is definitely super recommended!
