Reviews of Colour Inn - She Kou Branch

This is my second time staying at the Colour Inn. I really like this place because it offers a glimpse into a less touristy side of Shenzhen. It has a great atmosphere, with plenty of places to try local food. Most importantly, it's very close to the metro, making it easy to get anywhere. The rooms are clean, and there's daily housekeeping service.

There are plenty of restaurants, eating stalls, convenience shops near the hotel. The bed is hard and the room is cleaned everyday. Water pressure is very strong. Location wise is good and about 700m from the Doujiaotou metro station exit D and near market place. The surrounding is quiet.

There is no lift but someone will help to carry your luggage to the 1st. floor. No breakfast provided. Only a washing machine and dryer is provided, so not enough to meet the requirement. The room smells cigarette smoking (though it's a NO smoking room). Honestly with the same price, can get better hotel next door.

The hotel is situated in a good location. The proximity of the metro - Line 2 - Dongijaotou (500 m) provides convenient access to both the airport and other attractive places in Shenzhen. You can also get to the border with Hong Kong relatively quickly by subway. However, the port's proximity provides convenient access to Macau by ferry. The hotel is surrounded by many shops (including supermarkets) and restaurants. The hotel rooms are clean and cleaned regularly every day. The hotel staff is polite and nice. The area is worth visiting and is pleasant to walk around. I recommend this hotel to anyone travelling to Shenzhen.

The rooms were nice and clean. Beds were hard as a rock, but shower was good and there was airco. During night time, it was very quiet.

So... Where to start. We decided to stay at the Colour Inn Che Kou Branch because for 3 main reasons: - the included breakfast for genius members - our kids are sometime a bit picky, but what we saw on the pictures would have made a perfect breakfast - the possibility of paying with VISA - which is sometimes hard to find in China - the staff that spoke not only Chinese, but also English. The location was not great for our plans in Shenzhen, but for the mentioned reasons we still decided to book there. However, when we arrived no-one spoke English or another language apart from Chinese, it was not possible to pay with VISA (the receptionst even managed to get our VISA-card blocked, which is quite annoying at the very start of a trip), and apparently there is no more breakfast served in the hostel. So, if you want to stay there, keep this in mind. The pictures of the breakfast are no longer relevant.
