How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews

All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

It’s rare to come across such sincerely lovely people, their warmth really added something special to my stay. This is a great place if you’re looking to enjoy Dali at a slower pace, in a welcoming, relaxed setting. The location is quiet, and there’s a small market just around the corner.

Verified reviewGreat location next erhai gate, which also turns out to be a negative-see below. Inn is clean and comfortable. Price is reasonable.
This review is specific to our room, which directly faced Erhai gate, other rooms may be better... For some reason, the local government has allowed food stands right next to the gate, which means right next to the Inn. The stands have extremely bright signs that blast into the room, and also generate a lot of noise, including automated speakers that repeat the same message over and over. Some things quieted down between 11 and 11:30, but there is noise from the food stands until 1 a.m., and one night, they played cards and drank beer in one of the stands until 4:30 in the morning, with much loud talking and laughing... I didn't sleep at all, and proprietors of Inn called police to shut them down at around 2:30, but they didn't come around until 4:30. They also left the bright signs lit until 3 a.m. So, two nights didn't sleep until after 1 a.m., and one night not at all. Also, there are several bars on the other side of the Inn, and they play music until 11 p.m. that literally rattles the building. Staying here seems a gamble on the room, and the type of traveler/sleeper you are (my wife slept through most of it, until the loud party night). Concession people also use the area between the Inn and Erhai Gate as a bathroom.

I‘m glad to like Yunxi. Yunxi is strategically located, and the ancient city is bustling, but it is quiet after 23:00.

The taxi can't drop off in front of the front door cause it's situated slightly on the inner roads. At night you're next to a night market and can hear loud noises till midnight. If you close the window you can still hear a little. There's no common toilet downstairs after checking out They charge you for doing laundry and using their dryer
Hello, I‘m sorry to bring you a bad experience. I didn’t want to respond, but I still wanted to let the guests who didn‘t know the truth. First of all, the taxi can reach the door of the inn. If the taxi doesn’t want to stop at the door, it‘s not the problem of the inn; secondly, even if it stops at the intersection, it’s only 30 meters away. Is it a problem to go out? This is the first time in ten years since the opening that a customer has questioned this problem. Third, Yunxi has a superior location and convenient travel. It is inevitable that there will be some noise, but it will be quiet after 23 o‘clock. If you can’t accept even a little sound, it‘s too sensitive. It is recommended that you choose a hotel at the foot of Cangshan Mountain, not an inn; (The guests who also live in the room next to you say that the room is very quiet in the praise); Fourth, shouldn’t the laundry be charged? Laundry in five-star hotels is also charged, right? Shouldn‘t the laundry fee be charged for the inn? Why don’t you say that we will give you unlimited free bottled water? Fifth, there is no public toilet downstairs, which is indeed a loophole in our design. But usually we will let guests use the bathroom in the room after checking out. The inn is perfectly located just steps away from the vibrant charm of Dali Old Town, with a breathtaking view of the iconic Erhai Gate right from the room. It is a dream setting to soak in the local atmosphere. The hosts are absolutely incredible, warm, endlessly kind, and always ready to help with a smile. They made me feel like part of the family from the very first day. The attention to detail in the room is exceptional. Everything is thoughtfully arranged, with lovely personal touches that make you feel genuinely welcomed and cared for. As a remote worker I also appreciated the excellent Wi-Fi which allowed me to work comfortably without any issues. The combination of charm, comfort, and authentic hospitality makes this place a true haven in Dali. Highly recommended for anyone looking for a peaceful heartfelt stay with a real sense of place.

There is a very loud bar with very loud music in the vicinity which stops very late (around 1-2 AM), make sure to bring some earplugs!
