How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

Verified reviewAccess to beach
We were lucky to bump into the cleaner. Otherwise we wouldn’t have had the code for the lock box to access the keys. Also during the stay some one came to mow the vegetation which was noisy and then they burnt the remains. It set off the fire alarm and we had to keep doors shut for over an hour before the smoke cleared. Far from ideal for being on holiday

Verified reviewUru was a lovely host and very responsive. The apartment was very comfortable and had all the necessary equipment for a comfortable stay. It was very close (in walking distance) to Vili's - best burgers in Raro and the convenience store. If you like sunrises the view is beautiful from the backyard!

Verified reviewIt is very clean and well provisioned. Very suitable for a couple who want to explore and have a car.
It was very windy and there is no swimming at the beach in front. It is a very exposed spot. Also, there is no bedroom for privacy, its just one large room. The property is difficult to find.

Verified reviewGreat location, very clean..bed comfortable. Lounge chairs uncomfortable but this is how they seem to be in Raro! After 7 trips haven't found a comfortable seat yet. Property manager allowed us to stay later as no one coming in which was great
Kitchen only had 1 pot and 1 frypan. If you are staying 10 plus days this is not ideal for cooking. No oven. A bar b q would of been helpful and even a vege peeler and grater.

Verified reviewThe place is stunning, can’t get over the views on both sides of the house, very spacious, clean, and plenty of amenities available to us which was super handy eg. washing machine, kitchenware, fridge was stocked up with ice, extra towels etc
Response times took a little while when messaging the property and I did have one message completely ignored when asking about the deposit. Felt it was a bit hard to get in contact with someone to check in as no instructions were given either so we called the number on booking.com then we were given two other numbers to try and had no luck, we then had to look at the website to find another contact number ourselves and managed to get through to someone. Gets quite hot in the house, so the ceiling fans weren’t doing much, would’ve preferred AC or having some standing fans available.

Verified reviewThe Deluxe Villa is a large space and was immaculately clean. It looks out over a deck to the beach about 25m away. The beach and the lagoon has a rocky coral surface and the sunsets are spectacular. The open sea breaks on the reef at the edge of the lagoon which is about 50m wide. The villa faces due west and the coast at that location is quite exposed in an easterly wind which is prevailing for part of the year. There are plenty of restaurants nearby if you have a car or bike - if you are walking then Muri is about 2.5kms away. There is a great coffee and french bakery a few doors to the south and opposite that there is a small superette, gas station and Villis Burgers - all quite useful. About 2km to the north is Love Coffee which is a pretty good cafe.
Wifi was a bit of an issue - in the detailed information there is a note that it is available at additional cost. I ended up buying an ESim which worked fine but the reception within the villa is pretty average due to the heavy concrete construction.

Verified reviewThe ease of knowing where the key was and allowing us to enter by ourselves. Due to an issue with our payment card, which we we're able to sort, no pressure to completed. Wonderful hosts.
The room was a bit big, and a lot of free space. A number of loose fittings, which we highlighted to the maintenance staff.

Verified reviewLovely accommodation, beautiful views! You can hear the sounds of the ocean at night which was very theraputic. House was absolutely stunning had everything we could have needed! I enjoyed every minute of our stay. Affordable and just as pictured! I would stay here again. Lady (unsure of name I apologize) was super kind and inviting!
Not easy to navigate for non locals, Google took me to the local football club. Had to call the Canadian number I assume the landlord who then gave me the number for the lady who helped me inside the apartments , wasn't sure what room I was in had not been specified prior arrival.

Verified reviewThe highlight was the whales I could see from my bed!!! Great views, really close to the sea, not suitable for swimming but beach walks OK. Snorkling and swimming a short drive or busride away. The house had 3 very large double bedrooms with 2 large ensuits and dressing rooms. the third bedroom used the main bathroom. Huge living area and a kitchen almost like a commercial kitchen. Everything you could need. downstairs were 3 double bed flats which looked very big. A family or wedding group could book out the whole property. We were upstairs and didnt hear any downstairs guests. We had a lovely big verandah providing sun shade, and from the rain. Also good for drying racks. There was a washing machine and dishwasher. An excellent array of DVDs were available as well as a good selection of novels which we added to. It was an internet hub so we just had to buy time from the vodaphone shop at the airport. we rented a car at the airport but you can also rent motor scooters. One of us rented a push bike as well and had fun riding round the island. Highly recommend this property. Room for 3 couples or in our case 2 singles and one couple. The shops down the road in walking distance, were excellent. A supermarket, a petrol station and a great fast food place with the best hamburgers - great prices. Not far further down the road was a great pizza place. There were evening meals available about 4 nights a week at the Muri beach market. And the main town market is so big you could spend half a day. we arrived early to get fruit, stayed for pancakes/waffles and had a great look around.
The Tv sound wasn't great so we shifted the couches closer. you will need to hire transport or use the buses

Verified reviewGreat location, excellent view of the ocean, clean and comfortable, good cooking facilities. Excellent toilet and shower. Great outdoor deck. Saw a whale breach.
That we couldn't stay our whole trip and had to move. Couch could do with softer squabs. Wish bed was where couch is facing out to sea - that'd be magic.
