Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomNo lift for people - difficult for young and old people if one gets a room on the higher floors (like us). The luggage lift was defective when we were there, so ha bc e to carry luggage to top floor. Many free TV channels didn’t work. No fan and can get quite hot. No staff on site.
Close to main train station, relatively economic, decent WiFi and clean.

AustraliaNo air conditioning in the room which made it extremely uncomfortable on a very hot day and evening. The luggage lift was out of order - had to struggle up the stairs with our suitcase.
The room was comfortable and clean. Bathroom facilities were good and the shower was excellent!

United Arab EmiratesIts small, there is no ac. They will turn on and off the ac every 3 minutes. And we were on the 4th floor. We asked the girl if there is an elevator . She said no . But when we were settled in the room , the one in the booking said there is a luggage elevator . We could have put our luggage there and sent upstairs. We can walk up atleast without the luggages. The washroom is too tight . I even got a lump as i hit my head in the counter while scrubing my legs.
Its near to station.

United StatesI found the price to be too high for the room we got. I understand Switzerland is expensive, but it was the highest price I paid in Europe (9 hotels) and the one I liked the least. The position of the bathrooms is weird so doors in both rooms hit something when opening them. The top of 1st door hit a part of the wall and the 2nd door hit the bed.
It is not easy to get from the train station to the hotel if it is your first time in Zurich. It is kind of confusing, but once you find it, it is about 10-15min walk from the main station. I thought I had asked for a lower level room because I read there are no elevators (just for luggage), but got assigned a room on the 4th floor. My sister has problems with her legs so she called the manager and asked to be relocated. He came out in a couple of minutes and was very nice and accommodating. They only had one room on the ground floor available and had given us the 4th floor because the ground floor did not have a/c (there was a heat wave in Europe in June). We said we preferred the heat to the stairs, so he gave us the room and a standing fan. The first room we saw was small, no table, no chair, and the bed was very low. The 2nd room was a bit bigger and it had a table and a cube that could be used as a chair or a table, but the bed was also very low. We didn't stay much in the hotel so the heat was not a problem, but we couldn't open the windows because there was no protection and we were on the ground floor. There are free lockers to keep your luggage after check-out which can fit a large suitcase. The location is like in the middle of a nice area and a shady area, it depends which way you walk. We didn't get to the hotel after dark and wouldn't have done it just because there wasn't a lot of people walking around so it might not be so safe.

United KingdomBeds were incredibly hard - I'm pretty easy going with beds but these left both myself and my partner with back pain. No lift which when your room is on the top floor can be a bit taxing. The location is pretty questionable. Could be worse admittedly but Langstrasse felt a place we should avoid if possible......

GermanyI got a room on the last (I think 5th? floor) and there is no lift available. Usually I do not mind stairs, but I can image people having problems with that. Also rooms are a bit small, there was a very little space to move around the bed, and not even a single (excluding very little night table) furniture to put belongings on it. Also, bathroom was so small that even turning around is causing issues, and when taking the bath everything, despite curtains, was wet.
When I was selecting the hotel, my primary point was to be close to the event and central station, as I do not want to spend too much time commuting. That was OK, a bit off main streets but that works good for me. Both places were in walkable area. Mind the breakfast options around are limited and you need to go a bit further to grab something.
